I went there tonight and got 2 versions of the lomo saltado: pollo y carne. I had really high expectations from the Yelp reviews. The dishes were OK. We ate all the food in our plate, but I won't be back. There are better lomo saltados in Arlington's "El Puerto". They are WAY better than the ones at Rivera's. I wish this restaurant the best!
Review Source:I came here today after reading all the reviews, and seeing someone's post on Peruvian chicken. The portion size was really good, the yucca was yummy, and so was the chicken. It was not as juicy as I thought it would be though, but it was better than a few other Peruvian chicken places that I've tried. No one beats Crisp & Juicy when it comes to taste and sauces, though. But I would come back because the prices are good and the waitress was very friendly.
Review Source:Don't judge a book by its cover -- Rivera's is probably my favorite restaurant is Springfield. The folks are always friendly and happy to see you, and the food is hot and delicious.
I'll join the chorus of Yelpers singing the praises of lomo saltado. What's not to like about a huge, heaping plate of juicy chunks of beef, salty french fries, onions, beans and rice? Mix it all together and the result is just magical.
I recently tried the lengua (beef tongue) tacos -- a great deal at $7.50 for 3 tacos -- and they were some of the best I've had! It's always tough for me to pick between this and lomo whenever I go, but the portions are so big that my tummy doesn't have enough room for both!
