Green Olives Ristorante

Sadly, they are no more.

If you know Springfield you know you are not going to find gourmet cuisine there.  Green Olives is sadly located in a strip mall, and the decor is sparse and plain, but the food is delightful.  The niche is Northern Italian Cuisine and that may not be the correct category for it, but nonetheless it is yummy generic italian fare.  my mom loves the lentil soup with sausage in it because it's sturdy but not too thick.  I love the Scallops in a port wine sauce accompanied by mushroom risotto! the house wine was not delicious but they do have a decent list and i would recommend a bottle of most anything.  

it's a good meal, not a great one, but a nice change from the rest of the chains that infest the area.
