I absolutely love this place! I love the girly atmosphere, the cute knicknacks, the fabulous food, the friendly owners and the tea! I've been there numerous times and every time the experience was a special treat. Today, I went in hoping to sit and savor a pot of chai tea, and it was in the process of closing. The remaining fixtures and furniture are for sale and the merchandise that is left is discounted 40 - 75 percent. The owners seem happy to be moving on to another venture after the exhausting work of running a restaurant/boutique. It was the site of many happy celebrations for me during the last 7 years. Thanks for the memories Tres Jolie!
Review Source:Went here for lunch with my mom and it is a total girl fantasy! Everything is adorable, vintage chic, in girl soft pastels and bright jewel colors! My Turkey Arugula Sandwich with Tapenade was just perfect and the tomato bisque DELICIOUS! I'd definitely go back with my girls sometime for tea service (all those pastries looked so tempting!) or with my girlfriends for some of the champagne cocktails!! The service can tend to be slow, especially if they are busy, as there were only 2 girls waiting on a full house the day I went, but the girls are so sweet and charming, you tend to forgive them! Great little jewel of a place in my own neighborhood! I love it!
Review Source:The ladies I work with took me here for a little bridal shower gathering. It is super girly in this place! I'd like to go back because I liked it and I'd like to bring my husband, but I'd almost feel like I was torturing him if I did, haha. Had some Chai and it was delicious! For lunch I had the portobello sandwich, along with some tomato soup. The food was SO GOOD, the issue was.. it took forever for it to get to the table. I understand a wait for fresh, tasty food, but this was a bit ridiculous. It is a good thing it tasted so good or else we probably would've been pissed! Thankfully I had some delicious chai to hold me over until the food came out. I would go back again but I'd just cross my fingers for less of a wait! As other reviewers mentioned... it is quite pricey for soup and a sandwich.
Review Source:Bottom line: cute shop, good food & tea, too pricey.
Tres Jolie is part tea room and cafe, and part boutique. Their food menu includes sandwiches, soups and salads, as well as assorted scones, cookies, and pastries. There are several vegetarian options, such as a hummus sandwich or a vegan sandwich with olive tapenade. (If you are a veg don't try the tomato soup, though; it has chicken broth in it.) Everything is delicious and dainty, although expensive; you will pay around $12 for a small sandwich and soup/salad. There is also a very extensive tea menu, and apparently they have alcoholic drinks like champagne. At the counter they have unique candies such as candied lavender seeds and sugared flower petals.
The boutique part of the store is cute and girly, but everything here is overpriced too. I paid $13.50 for a small candle shaped like a cupcake.
Good for a special girls' day out or to take your beau if you both like tea, but be prepared to drop at least $40 for a meal for 2.
Everything I've had here has been good. Â The only thing I don't like is they put lavender oil in a lot of food which doesn't mix very well with the smell of the food. Â I love all the little shop items and that you can mix your own scents. Â The products in the store are so overpriced I can't believe they sell any of their bedding at all. Â The girls are always friendly and offer help when ordering. Â The strawberry lemonade blended is amazing. Â A bit on the pricey side for food but I would rather spend an extra $2 and support local business than hit up a chain. Â Great vegan and veg options as well.
Review Source:Um, if you are lacking estrogen, then go here. If you want to pay seventeen dollars for a salad and an iced tea, then go here. There was a blanket/sheet on "sale" for almost $500.00, I mean, really? Meh, don't waste your money or time and don't be lured in by frilly ass-sterotypical girl crap. Blah. If you do wander in - do try the candied rose pedels - a treat for sure.
On the positive: it does invite conversation.....
If this place was a person I'm going to say it would be a very cute little french lady on an old city bike. She doesn't sweat as much as she drips class.
This place is cute, cool, trendy, classy, and over all a must see in the Littleton downtown area.
It has great service and wonderful things to buy.
Candies roses are a must. I would recommend you walk in right now and demand them. They're that good. This is also the only place I can find them. Worth the pretty penny? Yes. 100%.
It's like the guy who dresses kinda funny, and can't decide what he wants to be when he grows up, but is so cute he can get away with it....
Despite a number of small things that annoy me about the place, it would appear that I have quite a crush on Tres Jolie, because I just keep coming back for more.
Tres Jolie is a sweet and girly stop in downtown Littleton, but they seem to be having a bit of an identity crisis. The shop can't decide if it's a retail store selling inexpensive cards and soaps, or high-end lamps and bedding, or a place to sit and enjoy some tea and snacks (they recently added more seating to accommodate more than, like 6 people). Also, in the last 6 months or so, it would appear that a window painter has been hired. While definitely attention-grabbing, decorating windows with paint is a touchy business, and to me, screams "family diner", not chic tea and champagne lounge. While this feature is purely aesthetic, I'm glad I visited the lounge prior to this starting, or it is quite possible that I wouldn't have been as compelled to enter.
In terms of food and drink, the cream scone is absolutely one of the best scones I've ever had (clotted cream and raspberry jam don't hurt, but aren't necessary) -- but my understanding is that they aren't made in-house. Where they come from I'm not sure, but I imagine someone knows....
The cake batter coffee is excellent, and the champagne is fun if you're in the mood.
Overall, I recommend stopping in and seeing if it's for you.
Many have complained about the prices, which admittedly aren't low, but do not seem astronomical to me.
Oh-- one other FYI, there is no WI-FI available. There is a "Tres Jolie" network, but it is only for business use, and customers are not provided a password, another small annoyance.
I have a strange relationship with this store. For one, I am a tea fanatic yet I've never tried the tea. Two, I love the decor and all the great stuff they sell, but it is out of my price range so I've never bought anything other than candy, dessert, or a sandwich. Third, this is the kind of place that I would have LOOOVED as a little girl, so I realize I haven't really changed very much since I was 7 years old. Â This is one of my favorite stores in the Denver area.
First, the prices. Yes they are a bit expensive. Stores like this are a dime a dozen in really big cities, with even higher prices don't get questioned. The problem is, Tres Jolie is located on a main street in a suburb of a medium sized western city. To be honest, I was surprised they were still there when I took a recent day trip down to Littleton after being gone a couple years.
I need to clarify though--I am very glad they are still there. The candy selection is awesome and the desserts are so good it is probably best they are priced high enough to feel like a special treat. I also have tried 3 or 4 different sandwiches and they have all been fresh and delicious.
Tres Jolie is located in Old Town Littleton. Â This area being my first visit, reminds me with some similarities of what Boulder has.
A cute, charming little place to have some tea, wine, champagne, bellini, pastries, sandwiches and cupcakes with your friends any day of the week. Â On Saturday March 14 2009, 11 lady friends and I, went to Tres Jolie for our monthly cupcake fix.
I cant deny at first I was "overwhlemed" with the charm of this tiny place filled with decorations, candies, "trinkets" alike for you lovely ladies out there who might feel and wants to live in a fairytale place or in Alice Wonderland.
The staff who happen to be the owner's daughters are very accomodating, friendly and approachable. Â At least when we were there at 14:00hrs, we were give a spot to fit us all, by rearranging the tables and chairs plus putting the cutlery.
Mind you this place is tiny. Â So be warned if you intend to have your tea party just call them in advance, just in case.
The list of Teas they have, my oh my is endless. Â Too many to choose to begin with and perhaps you can be spoiled with these choices. Â
Okies, back to the cupcake galore fix. Â When I was there, I had their Red Velvet Cupcake. Â Based on the cupcake alone, I give them between 2.5 to 3 stars.
I am a CREAM CHEESE lover who loves her cream cheese to be the frosting on a red velvet cupcake. Â But at Tres Jolie, they have their cream cheese inside the cupcake, NOT part of the frosting...so that's a slight bummer for me.
The Tea I ordered as part of my beverage was Passion Fruit Tea or something. Â Boy I cant recall it. Â I purchased several cupcakes and some other pastries for Hubs & I to share.
These are what I purchased:
* Â Coconut Lemon Cupcake
* Â Almond Cupcake
* Â Key Lime Tartlette
* Â Chocolate Mint Pyramid
* Â Candy - Bianco Lamone (Raspberry with White Chocolate)
When at home, Hubs tasted the Coconut Lemon Cupcake. Â The cupcake is just right for him. Â He gave 3 to 3.5 stars alone for the Coconut Lemon Cupcake for the ratings. Â BUT with $6.50 a piece for a cupcake that's definitely a BIG OUCH on my pockets.
Oh well, perhaps I will return if I received an invitation to have TEA & Pastries as a treat or if they can reduce their pricing for better products, goods, bakes, pastries what not.
I went here with my usual tea group at the end of December. Â The shop is very cute and the food is good. Â However, compared to other tea shops in Denver, we didn't think it was the best. Â You don't get much food for the money you spend. Â A friend of mine and I found a lot of "stuff" we wanted to buy while we waited for our food, but we left empty-handed.
Overall, good atmosphere, service and food, but there are better places to go for tea.
Tea & Champagne Lounge...three of my favorite words. Tres Jolie is an adorable tea house, boutique, and gallery. Â High Tea begins at 2:00 and is $22.00 or $28.00 depending if you have a glass of champagne. We had reservations (a must for high tea) and our table was waiting for us in the front window; we were greeted by all of the friendly staff when seated. Â Our waitress brought an extensive menu of tea (which can also be purchased to take home) and once your tea order is placed, the three tiered serving plates arrive with miniature sweets, scones, and savories. Two of my friends were celebrating birthdays and the miniature key lime pies held candles for them. Everything was wonderful and full of flavor and went well with my Jasmine Blueberry Green tea. The scones were melt in your mouth and I do not need to tell you how fabulous they are with thick clotted cream and a slather of jelly (they have many choices for you and I chose a raspberry to go with the fresh raspberry scones). Â They were serving Tattinger champagne which is a really nice upgrade from Andre's. And they also have Lavender cream sodas which one of the ladies tried and it was interestingly good.
Tres Jolie also has several luncheon teas which do not require reservations and will give you the flavor of high tea if you cannot wait until 2:00. Everything is just served in larger sizes, like a half a sandwich, a full sized scone, and one full sized pasty instead of all the miniature choices you get with high tea.
Tres Jolie is filled with home and garden boutique items and the "Sale" table was next to our table. So, it was easy enough to do a little shopping while we were visiting. (I am still in love with the squirrel Christmas ornament marked down 1/2 price). And I enjoyed our table looking out on to Main Street in Old Town Littleton.
If you cannot stay, stop in to get pastry, tea, or sandwiches to go.
So for high tea, lunch, or just a sip of champagne with a nice sweet, Tres Jolie is your place in Littleton.
This place is really cute and a fun place to go with the girls. Â In fact, last time I went there were no men at all. Â Try not to go during busy hours, like the lunch rush, etc. Â When you come in there is a menu on the wall, when you are ready to order stand in line at the cashier and order there, then pay. Â If it is busy you will usually have to stand around for a while until there is a table available. Â Once you are seated the server brings out your drinks and then eventually, your food. Â We had dessert first, a yummy, lemon cupcake, which was perfect since our food took a little while to come out. Â The croissants that are used for the sandwiches are yummy and the sandwiches come with salad but you can ask to switch it for soup- which I recommend. Â Kinda pricey and takes some time, but worth the visit.
Review Source:If you need a spot of tea this is the place to go! Â The afternoon tea is quite splendid. Â My girlfriends and I went and enjoyed tiny sandwiches and itty bitty scones, and of course pot after pot of tea. Â The atmosphere is really cute and they sell all the teas as well as some other slightly overpriced knick knacks. If you go, make a reservation for afternoon tea and gather up the ladies (or gents, yes there were several men there). The jasmine pearl tea is divine and the blueberry creme scones are a little slice of heavan! Next time I go I'm going to break out my little white gloves and a Mary Poppins bonnet just to complete the mood!
