This used to be my favorite restaurant, now it seems like they are using cheaper grade of beef. The ribeye was not worth the price.  I won't be going back. Yes, this area has many restaurants, and a lot of competition, so I would think that the last thing you would want to do as a business is down grade the quality of your food.

    Average food & service.

We went for dinner and the place was pretty empty. We had the tortellini con pana ($16) and the New York strip steak ($30). I liked the portions to the pasta, and it tasted good, but I couldn't taste the chicken at all unfortunately. The steak was average, nothing memorable.

My family has been going to Tribella for years, although less frequently as time progresses. I went with them for the first time in several years last night. It is still good, although not great.

At around 8:15 p.m. on a Friday, there were only about 10 patrons in this big restaurant. When we arrived, we weren't even sure that it was open as there were very few cars in the parking lot. I remember it being much busier in years past.

Our waitress was kind but a bit absent-minded. She forgot drinks and to put salad dressing on the side. The waitstaff quickly removed empty dishes.

I ordered the Penne Arabiatta and a side Caesar salad. I enjoyed the pasta but was disappointed with the salad. There was way too much dressing, and I couldn't tell whether it was store-bought or homemade.

My mom and dad ordered the Rigatoni ala Bolognese. The sauce is tasty, but I personally do not enjoy the large pieces of Italian sausage in the dish. They should be cut smaller.

My boyfriend ordered the Tortellini Con Pana. The tortellini was slightly overcooked, and the sauce wasn't thick enough.

This restaurant has been relatively consistent throughout the years. At this visit, there was nothing seriously wrong with our meal, but it was by no means outstanding.

Pretty good food, especially Parmesan artichoke appetizer. Slow service. We almost missed our movie, and I thought we built in plenty of time. Plus, they sat us in a high traffic area with a tight space between me and another table. Wait staff kept bumping my chair. I'd give it 2.5 if Yelp would let me.

Been going for years. Food has gone way down. Filet Oscar tough asparagus , salty crab and runny lumpy mashed potatoes. A few nights ago, salty greasy stroganoff. Service mediocre at best. Very disappointing.

Loved it! Have lived around the block from here and never went until tonight. The service was very professional and prompt. Wife had ribeye that was to die for. I had as good Italian. Will be back again!

Went here on a Tuesday night around 8:30 and it was still pretty busy (that's when you know a restaurant is really good). Ordered the Italian Rigatoni and had the chicken breast added to it. The pasta was very good, as was the wine...however I was less than impressed with the chicken. Maybe I've been watching too many episodes of Kitchen Nightmares, but I was hoping for and expected grilled chicken, and instead got chicken that had been boiled in water and really didn't have any flavor

HOWEVER, after making my concerns known to our server (who was awesome by the way, I totally forgot his name but maybe Brian?) and we were able to order the Tiramisu free of charge. Anyone who goes here please go get the Tiramisu, it's homemade in the back and it is fabulous.

Anyway, I would definitely recommend this place, the food was wonderful and when we go back I'll know to ask for the chicken grilled. The staff was also great, 4 stars!

My seasonal visit brings me in for the Spinach Gnocci for summer. Also ordered the Carpaccio but was told no to-go on the raw meats. Funny, it was ok'd last time & also fine by  the Turf Room policies. Crab cakes were a great back up. Everything was great except what they served up as chocolate cake. Honestly, I have bought better desserts at Wal-Mart.
I'm patiently waiting the return of the fall menu when they serve Pumpkin Ravioli!

Great "custom" restaurant in a sea of franchises and chains.  I go there often and have never had a bad meal.  A little too pricey to bring the kids though.

Tribella has gone downhill.  Friday night and many open tables...this place used to be packed on Friday's.  Looks like they have lost the regulars....hear it is under new ownership...

We waited 10 minutes until asking for our server to pay...his response was "Sorry for leaving you hangin'"...not the response I expected...

I absolutely love Italian food and pretty much any form of pasta there is. So i loved coming here for the variety of pasta choices, but also the meat and fish. You couldn't go wrong. It was a little pricey, especially for young college kids, but there food was excellent. The only thing I didn't care for was that when went for my second or third time, i went on a date and neither of us were old enough to drink at the time, i felt as if our waiter kind of ignored us because we weren't the "higher paying" customer. But that could have been just that waiter. But the food was great and there are plenty of options at the bar

We went here with a couple of our friends.  It was your average Italian restaurant - if yelp had half stars, it would probably be a 3.5 for me.  The ambiance made me feel that we were in Macaroni Grill - a nicer chain restaurant and the service felt chain like too.    Now for the food, we had the Baked Crispy Goat Cheese (definitely the highlight for us) - it was good.  The house salad w/ balsamic was good as well.  I had the Granchia Mezzaluna - crabfilled ravoili, cream sauce w/ tomatoes and spinach - Not my favorite....It tasted extremely processed, the sauce was bland and the shrimp sicked me out - they were those little shrimp that seemed like they came straight from a can.  My husband had the seafood Fra Diavolo Special - he said that he liked it, so it must have been pretty good.   I don't think I would go back.

This is a confusing place. I assumed by the Bar & Grill in their name that it would be more of a casual restaurant, cheap prices. However, many people were dressed in business casual, while my boyfriend and I walked in with jeans & sweatshirts on. Luckily, we did not feel entirely uncomfortable. I was just expecting less ambiance from the "bar & grill" name. The prices went with a normal Italian restaurant, around $15 a plate. I got the cheapest at $12. Beer for non-domestic was $5.50 a glass.

The food, however, was good. Both of our entrees were heaping and his chicken parmasen had plenty of sides with it. Be careful though, if you say yes to the waitress for soup or salad, it's an extra $2 bucks! She didn't tell us but I let my boyfriend know that it was extra and he declined the offer.

The staff was good as well. Very attentive and they filled our water glasses promptly. And even offered us another basket of bread before dinner.

We decided this was going to be our Valentine's Day dinner since we ended up spending $54 (with tip); 2 meals & 2 glasses of beer total. Ouch. This is definitely a first or second date place but after that only when you want to spend some dough.

I thought Brad's review was a bit unfair. "Below average" Italian food? Really? That's pretty harsh. Have you tried their Penne Arrabbiata? How about any of their steaks that you seem to be angry that they serve? How about their Caprese salad that is among the best I've ever had? Or the seasonal pumpkin ravioli? Baked minestrone, maybe?

You sound like you don't know a whole lot about quality Suburbian Italian food. Sure, this place is not as authentically Italian as a Capri in Downer's Grove or Costa Azzurra off of Mulberry Street in New York. If that's what you had in mind, this place is not what you're looking for. Sorry you were looking for a cheap joint like Buffalo Wild Wings, bro. Maybe they have garlic parmesan wings for you at B-Dubs.

Another guy said Zsa Zsa is better? Haven't been there in years, but I remember it being a pretty small place. Tribella is the opposite. It's a big, open, well-decorated place for big groups or intimate enough for 2 people. We had my grandfather's funeral luncheon here, and they did a very classy job with it, which I am forever grateful for.

For everyone else, give this place a try. Prices are not outrageous by any stretch of the imagination. Their wait staff has always been friendly to me, as are their hostesses. Never been to the bar portion, so can't comment on that.

Went here last night for a company dinner. The staff is extremely attentive and friendly. The food is absolutely delicious! Everyone in our party loved their dish. Entree's that were hits include the salmon, beef medallions, stuffed shrimp special, Filet Mignon (which was approved by a person in our group that has a chef degree), and my dish, the top sirloin. All in all, a very pleasant experience and wouldn't hesitate to return.

My wife & I admit to everyone that Tribella is among our top favorite restuarants.

Even after we moved closer into the city, we have no hesitation to take a drive to Batavia for delicious food.

My wife has an allegiance to the salmon. I typically order any of their specials.
You can't go wrong with any of their platters.

The cheese and bread they serve is hard to avoid - YUMMY!

After going here, I stay away from any Maggiano or suburban Italian restaurant experience. This place also has a party room that we have used for my father -in- law's 70th....

Service, ambiance, and flavor is all a five star experience. We feel it's a true hidden gem. Support this business - it deserves the recognition!

    Way to go Tribella!

I strong recommend the Granchio Mezzaluna every bite was delicious other people in our group had Tuscan Rib eye and the Stuffed Gamberi needless to say everyone was happy with the choice they made. We are definitely returning to try the rest of the menu. We were there on Saturday nite it was busy but the service was great.

If you head to Tribella, you're looking at about a 95% chance that a member of my immediate family is there.

The tortellini con pana is definitely my favorite, but you also can't go wrong with any of the steaks  or pizzas.

The servers definitely know what they are doing, and are great at remembering who you are and what you like.

So head over, grab a glass of Louis Martini and have yourself a great time!

Big fan of Tribella's every sense I lived only a mile away from there for 5 years. You gotta try the pumpkin ravioli. I'm not sure but it may be seasonable. Sometimes the place can feel like a chain but I don't think it is. They also have a cool little patio but it can be covered by the tarps a little to much. Inside it's nicely painted and very open with high vaulted ceilings. Sounds can bounce off the walls and make this place loud do to it's high ceilings but that's just the type of place this is. Gives it character and show a lot of action going on.

Went for my birthday dinner.  I'm gonna stick with the five stars eventhough I feel like this place might be slipping.  Had a couple great martinis before dinner, had the special of tuna carpaccio, it was cut a little thick but I'm not complaining about that, it was delish!  The BF ordered a steak and griped a little bit about the cut and age of the thing...it looked tasty to me and it miraculously disappeared.  I had Tilapia which was good but not excellent.  I was served a slice of flourless birthday cake slice which was nice.  Our server Jamie made the night, we've had her before and she is a delight!  She just saved this place a star!  :)

If I based my rating on the first impression, I would have given them five stars. The best seared scallops I have ever had.  I regret recommending this restaurant for a family birthday party of 10 people.  Half of the party, including myself, did not enjoy their meal.  I was embarrassed.  Flavors were mediocre, not hot enough.. I guess they had many orders under a hot lamp until they can finish all 10 plates.

The scallops were a special that evening.  Perhaps stick the the specials and not the menu. Or perhaps they are good for a date night and not good for a large group.  The pasta portions are big though.  The atmosphere and service is very nice.  I might go back.

It's amazing but, ever since I moved out this way (1998), Tribella has been a place I take people for good service, good meal and knowing that we'll walk away stuffed to the gills.  But yet, I continually forget it's there and probably only visit once a year, which is sad.

We headed up to Tribella for an early birthday dinner for my wife (4/3/09) since we're members of the Birthday club and they send a coupon for $10 off and a free chocolate dessert which makes MK very happy.

Again, great, attentive and knowledgeable service.  They know each of their dishes inside and out and freely offer up recommendations.  I had the Chicken Satimbocca which is always one of my faves and MK had the Rigatoni with Sausage and Chicken.  We ordered up a pizza for an appetizer and it was a fabulous flat-bread type that even Aidan enjoyed part of.

They have Moretti LaRossa (red) beer and that just doesn't show up in a lot of places except those taking their Italian seriously.

Just good stuff, continually for 10 years going now!!

PS: I've had their Tuscan-style Strip Steak (or Florentine type) where it's a bit breaded with olive oil and bread crumbs and it's to die for.  Reminds me of being at a little family restaurant in Florence on our honeymoon.

I was totally disappointed in this place. The name says "Bar & Grill" and there is no reason for this. Why because they serve steak and wine. Lame!

Overall the food is below average Italian food, I can and have made better Italian food at home. I thought the service was terrible, I haven't felt like I had bad service in a long time. The waiter just seemed like he had better things to do then wait on me and my fiancee.
Now, the nail in the coffin that ruined this place forever for me, is about 10 minutes after leaving, I felt like I was going to die, I haven't felt that sick in along time.

Stay at home and cook dinner, you will have a better meal at a better price.

Tribella is just an average Italian Restaurant.  Nothing special food is decent.  You would be much better off at Zsa Zsa Trutoria's in St. Charles, which is hands down the best italian in the suburbs.

Great Italian food. Pastas are very good, as are the steaks.

Good wine list and good servers.

Be advised, this place does get absolutely PACKED, especially on the weekends - make reservations.

So much better than the chain restaurant crap that is in this area. If you want bread and salad until you puke, go to Olive Garden. If you want great Italian food, go here.

Fantastic Italian food, great service, and a pretty comprehensive wine list and full bar.  But it's unfortunately completely cloaked by Friday's, which was built a few years ago (alright all you Trekkies, don't get technical on me - even thought it wasn't rendered completely invisible, YOU CAN'T SEE THE PLACE).  There outta be a law!  Just look for the TGIF, drive past it, and have a fantastic meal.  It's the "upscale" variety, so come with your parents.
