First time to Troha's after talking about it for many years. Â The neighborhood has changed alot since it was first opened as a pub in 1917 in what was a German neighborhood. Â The reviews are correct; an excellent product and yet simple. Â Had a great conversation with the owner and great grandson of the founder. Â Was delighted to see they had some counter seating and one table that sits about four. Â Shrimp and fries were excellent and got to try several of their sauces. Lake perch was good as well.
Review Source:Whoot! 8$ for fried shrimp that still tastes like SHRIMP and fried fish that still tastes like FISH. There's some magic to eating fried food that doesn't all just taste like the batter that covers it. And this is the place. Wonderful--ordered take out and it was ready in 20 minutes. I only wish their hot sauce was more spicy but hey--nothing to complain about.
