Probably the best BBQ meats on the island. The brisket and pork are tender and juicy.

Great BBQ, best on the Island.

My boyfriend and I came here a couple weeks ago after we saw all the good reviews on yelp. We wanted to try a new place in the North Shore and we love pulled pork and BBQ. They only take cash so come prepared to get your money's worth with some great food choices.

The place is small but doesn't get too crowded. When we went around 1pm, there were only a couple small groups of people outside of the restaurant.

I had the pulled pork sandwich sloppy joe style which was just a regular pulled pork sandwich that came on a hamburger bun. I chose that style because it came with a smaller sandwich and with french fries. My boyfriend had the pulled pork on a hoagie type bread. The meat was so tender and juicy. It definitely hit the spot.

I would recommend this place to anyone who loves BBQ. Their menu is surprisingly big for how small the restaurant is, so we'll definitely be back again to try something new.

On an island where barbecues are burning every day of the week and their sweet smell follows you around everywhere you go, any place that sells BBQ has a tough act to follow. Uncle Bobo's rises to the task and delivers moist, tender and delicious brisket and pulled pork. Add a side order of redneck rice and citrus flavored coleslaw (or get the plate that includes both) and you are on your way to barbecue fulfillment. If you like BBQ and you are in the area, do yourself a favor and stop there for a bite. It's definitely worth it!

My experience here was almost identical to Dan M's... wish i'd had enough energy to read his first before stopping with my hiking crew after a tiring trek. This was like the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, right across the street from where we parked at Swanzy.

CASH ONLY - first minor disappointment as we couldn't really go all out on the menu and get the pricier plates (BBQ), and still afford a drink ($2.95!!) as we don't normally hike with a lot of cash. No biggie, we just got burgers since our last topic of discussion was - who can mess up a burger?

WAIT - and wait and wait... The timing of the drinks and food was so off... it definitely took at least 5-10 minutes to get our fountain drinks. Our poor friend who got the acai smoothie ($7 I think) waited even longer. We were about done with our burgers by the time our friend got his bbq brisket plate.

Burger - meh. I would suspect a pre-formed patty, essentially a burger you'd get at a home bbq where you just bought a pack of frozen pattys from costco... except you paid about $8.

I did like the hot crunchy steak fries, I did not like that a "large" basket costs almost $6.

Overall, I'd just drive someplace else for better food & better value.

We came here during a torrential downpour a couple of weeks ago and after driving with almost zero visibility for 20 minutes from Turtle Bay, I was really wondering if I was going to live to regret my suggestion that we try this place out. When we ducked into this tiny place, it was clear that we had hit upon a locals' favorite but the jury was out on whether the food would be good. We ordered a brisket plate, a rib plate, a hot dog and pulled pork. There was a bit of a wait -- maybe 20-30 minutes -- but the wait was well worth it. The brisket was the best I've ever had and the ribs were amazing -- meaty and melting off the bones. So good and so simple, yet so hard to find, especially where we live. The homemade sauce was delicious and we bought a few bottles to bring home. The family running this joint are awesome and care about what they're serving. Check it out.

I personally thought their plate was pretty pricey, or maybe I'm just cheap, but I guess you gotta be willing to pay for some damn good bbq on this island. Good beef brisket and I even liked the redneck rice.

Your choices for dining, whether quick, fine, casual, or all of the above, lacks choices in the Kaaawa area compared to other parts of the island.

Which is probably the reason for us coming here.

After an insane 6-hour hike up Pu'u Manamana, we arrived back to my car parked at Swanzy Beach Park extremely sore, tired, and most of all HUNGRY. Scanning the area, we had Uncle Bobo's, 7-11, and Crouching Lion Inn. By process of (a 5-second) elimination, Uncle Bobo's seemed most appropriate. Plus it was BBQ!! It's not like we wanted to finish the hike with a salad or anything...we wanted the MEAT OF A COW.

Scanning the menu, you have a couple BBQ choices, such as Beef Brisket, Pork Shoulder, burgers, chicken, and sandwiches, all of it lookin' tasty.

I went with the BBQ Beef Brisket sandwich and a side of fries. When we arrived, it was a little crowded, so we anticipated a short wait.

So all 5 of us sat down and waited...and waited...

...and waited. Granted, they only had a staff of 2...but this a BBQ stand, where I'm assuming the meat for the sandwiches is already prepped and just needs to be stuck in a bun.

After 15 minutes, my number was called...for my root beer. Another 10 minutes later, the fries...then 5 minutes later the sandwich. Why did it take so long to get a drink? All in all, it took about 30-35 minutes for all 5 of us to get our food.

Fortunately, it was pretty good as they're BBQ sauce has a nice tanginess to it. They pack the sandwich with enough meat you're going to need a fork (or in my sloppy case, forget the fork and use your hands! Carnivore!!). The fries were hot and fresh and filled up our bellies.

I think we could have driven somewhere else and would have already been served our food by the time we actually got ours here...but at least it was worth the wait.

If you're in a hurry, grab some nuts at 7-11 or pre-game with a beer, cause you might have a wait ahead of ya.

On a recent pit stop stop after a nearby gulch hike, hiking crew and I had a late lunch at Uncle Bobo's. Apparently Uncle Bobo was away on vacation, so the menu was more limited. Sorry to the people (not me!) who had a hankering for some brisket. I ordered the veggie tofu taco with beans and rice - satisfying and filling after a hike! My friend ordered the shave ice for the second time - he reached the same verdict as before, not so good! But my order this time was good!

I've been having to travel out to Laie for work so I decided to make an effort to try some of the eateries along the way and Yelp them. Needless to say, you're ging to be seeing a few more reviews for the Northern shore of the island. I know it's not really the North shorebut it also isn't fully the Windward shore. Maybe I should have said Northerly Windward shores. Whatevers.

I happened along Uncle Bobo's on one of my recent trips. It is right in Kaaawa across Swanzy Beach Park and next to a 7-eleven. The sign said smoked bbq and I am a fan of that so I figured I'd give them a try. They are a small little eatery. They have a few tables inside but also some tables under umbrellas outside. I guess if you are on that side of the island you should take up the scenary andsit outside. I was going to do a take out.

I looked over the menu to see what I should get. Things were a little pricey so it was good I wasn't that hungry. Most of the plates were in the $11.00+ range. They had a lunch special that was 2 chicke drumsticks and rice for $6.00. Hell, great deal. I got that and a Diet Pepsi. I should have looked better at the drink prices as my 20oz Diet Pepsi was $3.00 by itself. Surprisig considerin they are literally right next door to a 7-eleven. Lesson learned. I would have thought the "smoked chicken" was already prepared. I waited about 15 minutes for my plate. Maybe they re-heat the food in a toaster oven or something. I guess a micro would dry it out. I don't really know and am just speculating. I guess I watched too many Kitchen Nightmares.

I took my chicken plate and headed out for some tranquil place to eat it. Actually, I just wanted shade.

Their smoked chicken drumsticks were very good. Nice and smokey and very tender. Not much else going on with the plate but that. Chicken and ----rice. $6, what do you expect. For that price it was a fine meal. I guess I wouldn't mind trying some of their other specialties, but I gotta save up. Nah, I guess they probably cater to the tourist driving through so it's the norm. Maybe I should have asked for a Kamaaina discount. Worth the price for the meal but take a stroll next door for the drinks. That'll keep the bitter taste out of your mouth.

Either here or not. Happy Eats.

We love to go around the island on the Windward side on our days off and one of our favorite "stop spots" is Uncle Bobos BBQ in Kaaawa across from Swanzy Beach, approximately 10-15 minutes past Chinaman's hat.

Oahu is not known for their Southern style BBQ (really?!), but this restaurant sure is!!

The hubby loves the Beef brisket the best, and I have tried the Pork shoulder, which is good. Good side of coleslaw and a sturdy bun. Chicken is okay, burgers are good. but definitely get the brisket if it's your first time.

When I feel like being sinful, I get the Chili Fries (gulp!!) and their Shave ice, which hits the spot on a warm day!
Parking is less than 10 stalls, and shared by the residents who come and go for their mail at the Post Office, but you can park across the street at the beach, which also has public restrooms.

The workers and cooks are always nice, but it is warm inside,(which they have a few tables), so we like to sit outside, and they are dog friendly which is always a plus!

Pricing is average, the BBQ sandwiches around $8.50 and plates just under $15, but worth it.

You can also go next door to 7-11 to get your favorite summertime beverages while you wait.

Now I hear they have live music certain nights of the week, which if anyone knows, please post!I

Definitely worth the drive, and our dogs love it, cause they get a cold bath and a good afterwards at Swanzys!

Great fish tacos. Simple grilled wahoo and cabbage on homemade corn tortillas. Really a perfect lunch before and after hitting the waves. Real shaved ice not crush ice from some lame snow cone machine. The pulled pork and ribs were also surprisingly good.

I live just a block from Bobo's and eat there about every other week. It's a good place to grab a snack after coming back from the beach to our house. One of my favorites on the windward north shore.

They bake their own rolls daily for the pork and other BBQ sandwiches so they are very fresh. They also started some new taco dishes. They hand make the small corn tortillas daily.

The fish tacos (ono fish) and the carne asada (small chopped steak) tacos are fantastic. They now has them available as a plate with some good Spanish rice and amazing white Mexican beans. Super yummy.

I also love their beef brisket sandwich. They smoke all their own meats right out back (the smell is great) and they make their own BBQ sauces.

Good smoothies, good shave ice, good cookies (home baked) if they don't run out. Also try the "mochaccino" shake - vanilla ice cream with two shots of espresso blended in. A wonderful treat (but lots of calories)

Nice people that run it and great food. Prices are a little high and service can be slow but put your brain in Hawaii time mode - this ain't no Mickey D's for a fast meal.

They have 2 or 3 tables inside plus 3 or 4 outside. Or get your food to go, walk across the street to Swanzy Beach Park and have a ocean side picnic at a table or down on the beach. Grab a six pack at the 7-11 next door and you've got a party ;-)

OK, could have been 5 stars, but for 2 little things. They were, due to their popularity, they had had a recent rush and the table outside that we chose was still dirty. So was the one next to it so I cleaned one and we sat down. Also, the Ono sounded SO good as in Ono Tacos, but sadly they were out. It could have been prepared but as it was frozen, it would have take n a while.

So, the reason we stopped was that a certain place north of there had not seemed so desirable when we stopped there. The prices were too high and their women's bathroom was too dirty for my wife to use. We gave it a shot, even sitting down, but nothing seemed 'good' on the menu-and we HAd had decent meals there in the past. So, we left after the girl working at Donkey Balls (love that name) highly recommended Uncle Bobo's.

We noticed the pleasant, but hot and sweaty cooks in the back and they smiled at us. In short, the coffee was very good as was the tea. We ordered the Uncle Bobo's favorite taco which was a tasty veggie mix, including green peppers and cheese. Replacing the Ono taco in our thinking was the Mahi sandwich. It came out extra good, especially the bread. Luckily my awesome wife shared.

My Carne Asada Taco was very good too an the portions were perfect. So perfect, that we only had a bite out of the Mac Salad that I had thought looked so good. My bite was fine, btw.
Now, to sum up, for me at least this type of setting with the order at the counter and then get your seat, picnic style outside for the most part is naturally less 'clean.' If you need an inside (only) seating restaurant with a normal waitress/waiter setup, this ain't it. BUT, the food makes up for just about anything.

And the view, pretty good.

BTW, the tip jar was so stuffed, we had to tell them to take care of their money, it was about to spill out on the counter. AND the bill on top was not a Single or even a Five.........WE WILL GO BACK.

One of two local restaurants so we eat here regularly. Have a new menu item - fish tacos which is one of my favorite items to compare among restaurants. I had them last week and when I saw the owner today he asked me how they were. I told him the fish was overcooked, which was really disappointing. He told me to come back and have a taco on him to try them again. NOT disappointed. Flavorful fish on homemade corn tortillas with a slightly spicy sauce! Plus a beautiful ocean view. Love their regular bbq dishes also, but it's nice that they continue to have daily specials and new menu items to keep it fresh for the locals.

My GF and I stumbled upon this place during our first visit to Oahu together, about 3-4 years ago.

We were just exploring the island after a quick dip at Lanakai.

Hungry and not expecting too much from this meager looking spot, we were suprisingly astounded at the great food they serve here.

I had the beef brisket with "redneck rice" One word...perfect! Healthy portions (and not stingey like you might think a small hole in the wall might be). My GF had the smoked chicken, excellent as well.

Our first visit happened to be the second day they were ever open, we've been back at least five times now (most recently Jan. 09) and the food is outstanding.

The location is on the side of a "highway," which really amounts to a two-lane road. Next to Bobo's is the town's little post office.

We ordered 2 Beef Brisket sandwiches and 1 coleslaw. The beef brisket was really tender but didn't have enough sauce, causing my boyfriend to declare it "flavorless". However, the bread that the sandwich came on was DELICIOUS. The coleslaw was a little too sweet for my liking but I still ate it all.

Customer service was decent...actually only one guy was really friendly but I wasn't expecting too much to begin with. It was a little pricey for 2 sandwiches and a coleslaw, total was over $20. Overall, I wouldn't go out of my way to come here but if I'm in the neighborhood, I would probably stop by.

Totally bummed out after our trip to Uncle Bobo's today. We thought we would try a burger and fries for Christmas Eve dinner- kind of traditional.

David ordered he cheese burger and requested to BUY an additional pattie ( he loves his double burgers) - The guy at the counter asked the owner ( who was eating and cooking right on the middle counter of the kitchen) she said NO. ( why not????) OK so just a cheese burger with large fries. And a large Ice Tea with free refills.

I ordered a regular burger and small fry with my favorite blue smoothie.

Our bill was 28.85....man could I have got a lot of burgers at McD's with that!

First we got the ice tea.......then about five minutes later the smoothie......another five goes by and they bring two baskets of fries.......then about five minutes later the cheese burger.......David went and asked for more tea and got a half glass because they needed to make more ( we never saw any more tea).... then after another five my burger came. I mean seriously how hard is it to cook two burgers and fries to come out at the same time???

The burgers had no mayo, mustard or ketchup- they were pretty bland even with those added.

I could have skipped the whole deal. The smoothie was delicious as always.

Based on Ultimate Guide ONO rating, drove to Uncle Bobo's from Turtle Bay for early dinner 11/18/10. He was in the process of closing up because of weather. Offered to take quick order so we placed order to go of the combo plate, and took back to the hotel for a balcony picnic.

THANK YOU to their team for serving us! What awesome meat! That combo plate is more than enough for 2 to split. You select 3 of the 4 meats - pork shoulder, ribs, brisket, smoked chicken.

OMG! I have never in my life had such a huge bite of rib meat on the bone, and so delicious and tender. Chicken was fabulous, brisket incredibly tender.

Cole slaw is thinly shredded and wonderfully flavored - still not sure with what, but loved it. Mac salad out of this world.

They are known for their house made BBQ sauce. It's on the sweet side so I was concerned husband would not like. He loved it. It seems like it has some fruit flavor in it rather than molasses or sugar. It is unique and really good - and it's thick, not too drippy or messy.

SO GLAD the team made sure we did not miss this chance to love their food. Plan to return one more time on this trip to eat in and enjoy their home baked items too.

During our two weeks on O'ahu we must have eaten here 5 times. If you are looking for a great meal at a great price with friendly folks then this is the place! During our visits we tried the hotdogs (grilled not boiled - and excellent buns OH YUM!), brisket sandwich (excellent!) and mahi mahi sandwich (tasty)! Coffee was great as well - we even bought some to take home.
As far as the staff - the young lady who took our order could not have been nicer and made us feel totally welcome.

BBQ Ribs are fall off the bone! The burger that my wife got was also pretty good!

I had the pulled pork mini plate, chili cheese fries and mac-nut choco cookie. Both were delicious!

The pulled pork was perfectly tender and flavorful. The rice was tasty too. The chili cheese fries were pretty good. The chili was mostly ground meat - not many chunks of other ingredients that I'm used to (beans, onions) but it was good and the fries were perfectly hearty and crispy. And the cookie was soft and chocolately and buttery.

Staff was super friendly and great with recommendations.

I was on a trip with friends and we drove by it hungry and thought we should try it out. I'm so glad we did!!! They have the best 'cowboy rice' and garlic chicken. The prices were reasonable! Highly recommend.

Its a small place so if they're busy it may take a while for your food. They also have a sign on the wall indicating that they are not a fast food establishment. The wait will be well worth it.

...I love BBQ, My girlfriend loves BBQ so we had to stop. Luckily we were welcomed with nice fall off the bone ribs and tasty pork! The sauce is really good but needed, so not the most flavorful smoke job I have had but super tender. The service was relaxed and friendly. A bunch of people came in after we had our food and it got full fast. I would stop back and try more items on the menu and yes the fries were good as well!

Super kind local grindz! We ordered a rack of ribs and the pork shoulder plate, and both were delicious. The ribs were fall-off-the-bone tender with just the right amount of smoke flavor, and the sauce that was served on the side was just sweet enough to balance the smoke - finger-lickin' good!

The pork shoulder was tender and served on a bed of sticky white rice that soaked up the juices from the pork - and there was alot of both!

The included sides were somewhat small, but then again they were included so we didn't complain. (But if we had paid for the sides we might have...) The service was friendly and the eating area was clean.

I'm not sure about the rest of the menu, but the beef brisket sandwich from Uncle Bobo's is only alright.

The toasted bun was incredibly dry, and crumbled as we ate it. The beef was good, but it too was dry, and required the entire side of BBQ sauce in order to add enough moisture to make the sandwich edible.

The fries were good, but nothing special.

Like some of the other reviews have mentioned, this place is incredibly relaxed, so you will wait a while for your food. That's not really a big deal since most of Oahu is more relaxed than the mainland.

However with a single sandwich, an order of fries and a drink costing more than $15, this place isn't really worth the price.

Really, really good barbeque! We stayed in Waikiki and rented a car to make a daytrip around the island. Started off going to the Dole Planataion, went around North Shore and ended up here.

You know you've found a good place when the kitchen is four times the size of the eating area.

My wife and I split the pork shoulder plate, but I should have gotten two and save the leftovers. Perfectly cooked, not fatty, and great sauce. I wish they'd bottle it! See my photos, including one of the menu.

They don't serve beer, but you can walk next door to the 7-11 to buy a bottle and have it with your lunch/dinner on their patio.

Yummy! We drove out from Waipio, and it was worth the drive. Called ahead because we heard the food takes long. It was ready when we arrived, and they even called to let us know the food was ready.

The only coleslaw I've ever been exposed to is school lunch coleslaw, and I was never a fan. However, one of the reviewers said the coleslaw was yummy, so I made sure to try it. It did not disappoint and was a good complement to the somewhat spicy sauce.

I had the combo plate with ribs, pork shoulder, and brisket. I ordered hubs the pork shoulder. My combo plate was $18.95, and in addition to the three meats, I had redneck rice, beans, and coleslaw. The plate was so full that the beans and coleslaw were packed separately. The hubs' plate was enough for him with a little bit of brisket from me. His plate was $10.95 and included the meat, redneck rice, and mac salad. He's not a big eater, but it wouldn't have been quite enough if I hadn't share some brisket and coleslaw with him.

We were both pleased with the taste though, and would definitely eat there again. My only recommendation would be to order the combo plate to ensure you have enough food.

For dessert, we had the Monkey Business smoothie which was thick and chocolaty!

We went to see the surf today on the north shore and stopped here for lunch. The food was good for Hawaii standard. We were just in Texas about a month ago and it doesn't compare. We shared a combo plate with brisket, ribs and chicken. The bbq sauce was pretty good, but my husband who is from the south didn't care for it. We also shared an acai bowl which was good. Overall it was good but not great.

Discovered this place when going to the Ka'a'awa post office for postcard stamps. Cute, clean, little cafe for decent bbq. Pefect for a quick bite to eat if you are staying in or around Ka'a'wa since everything else is at least a 15 minute ride away (which doesn't seem like a lot but it gets to be a bummer after awhile). We tried the pulled pork plate. I liked the sweetness of the bbq bc I grew up in the Northeast (read: Masterpiece bbq sauce out of a bottle). My husband, a southerner, and often snotty about his bbq (and prefers a vinegar base) also liked the sauce and the pork. So that's saying something. The redneck rice was delicious. They also have cute t-shirts that say "Made in Ka'a'awa".

They also serve breakfast, shave ice, smoothies and coffee drinks but we didn't try those.

I think we passed by this place 6 times before we even noticed what it was! That is rare for us because we can normally spot any food or shave ice places while driving around the island.

We stopped here for lunch one day after the beach. I had the cheeseburger which was really good. As good as it looks! http://www.yelp.com/biz_…

They got a little of everything here. I saw a young local girl eating a bowl of chili and rice which looked really good. The shave ice looked good too.

I love small mom 'n pop places like this! This one has a couple tables inside and a couple outside.
Service was good.... but for some reason we did get a couple weird looks from the guy taking our order... not sure what was up with that since he wasn't even Hawaiian!?

We also grabbed a couple fresh made chocolate chip mac nut cookies which were tasty!!

How cool would it be if there was a Mom and Pop BBQ spot right across from a Beach Park? And, how cool would it be if they served real BBQ and alot of other tasty stuff including Shave Ice and Fresh Baked Cookies?? Well.....it actually IS cool and it's called Uncle Bobo's.

I'm no expert when it comes to BBQ but, I know enough, this place is legit. I couldn't resist the BBQ Sloppy Joe special with fries for $5.50. So, of course my sandwich was very "saucy". Was very good. They had a couple other daily specials too.

Good service.
A small place with mostly just a few patio tables out front.

Not really much else on this immediate stretch of road. I say check 'em out for yourself if your hungry, thirsty or looking for a treat.

A couple of Yelpers pointed me out in their direction last week and I just had to drive out to this place. It's all the way out in Ka`awa, in fact RIGHT next to the 7-11 near Kualoa Ranch. Yellow building, al fresca dining seating attractive patrons and with a great view of the beach and park (Bobo's recommended public restroom area BTW).

A mix of down tempo ethereal beats and sometimes reggae bumped in the room. Guitar on the wall, sheathed cellos in the back and a very enthusiastic staff greeted us as we walked in. I was excited to try this new 'cue, so I went with the combination plate for $18.95 This included 3 meats of choice, 2 sides, all stacked on top of their "redneck rice". Another local Yelper mentioned their portions were insane, and yes my brother, you were right!

Out comes this 12" plate, half of which was just PILED on with food (other side for containers of BBQ sauce & space for sides) about 2 1/2-3 inches from the bottom. That's enough food for two people! Pile of brisket, chicken and ribs...it's on!

First thing i noticed was the sauce (glad they were smart to put it on the side) was similar to Hog Island's. A cider vinegar sweet bite that isn't so tasty. Fine, lets eat the rest of this meat for the smokiness then. Chicken was surprisingly moist, brisket tender, though the ribs were just a tad dry. The smoke factor, hrm...not sure the wood they use here but it made the meat taste charcol'ish, and not as in the smoke coming from. More like they were dry rubbed with coal. Also seemed like they didn't season their meat either. It was so bland, I had to dip it back in the sauce for flavor. NO!

I did like their beans (tasted more like chili than the usual sweet, baked appeal) and their "redneck rice", which reminded me of an Indian-style, jasmine and wild rice mix jambalaya. Sadly, I wasn't here for the sides BUT I did finish my plate! Took some breathers but in the battle of Eric Vs Pile, Eric didn't feel so good after. A portion of my meal saw light once again in a porcelain throne but me having to taste Uncle Bobo's Barbecue all over? "Buuurahh!" *toilet flushing*

Urban-ites, as for the drive and adventure? Stay townie on this one. Half star rating only because they piled it on.

BBQ is something that is subjective to the individual diner. Some like a sweet sauce while others like it spicy; and some prefer no sauce at all. Some BBQ aficionados only like pork while others believe beef is king. Well, to me I like all and will eat all. The BBQ offered at Uncle Bobo's is without a doubt the best BBQ deal on the island. I ordered a mixed plate that was just huge!!! It came with ribs, brisket, pulled pork, red neck rice, fries and coleslaw. I think that two people would have trouble finishing it. Yum. Their sauce was well spiced and balanced maybe, a little less acidity would have made it perfect, but never the less it was still good.

Overall, for Hawaii it is about even with the better BBQ spots on the Island. There are a few things that could be tweaked (not enough smoke) to make this place a really top notch Q spot. So, for now I think it is pretty good. If you want good Q with outrageous portions check out Uncle Bobo's. I am sure you will like it.

Pretty generous rating, but I would like to give this "ma and pa" establishment the benefit of the doubt. On our way to Polynesian Cultural Center, we decided to stop by at Uncle Bobo's due to the impressive YELP rating.

If you like BBQ's, the food here is very good. Yes, it takes a LONG time, but they advertise that they take a long time to prepare the food so they don't lose a star here. We ordered lunch at 10:30 AM (when they open for lunch) and received our food at 11:15 AM. The BBQ sauce is excellent which helps with the taste of the ribs, chicken and brisket. The rice is also very good. The cashier said that the coleslaw was excellent, but it was unavailable when we were there.I did not like the macaroni.

They seem a bit overwhelmed, but I would definitely eat here again. Oh yeah, the food is a bit pricey (ie $18 for mixed BBQ plate), but they spend a lot of time making the food.

Overall, I would give them 4.25 stars, but since it was all part of the Hawaii experience, I am rounding up.

I consider myself somewhat of a que slut. If there's anyplace that looks like it can serve good que, I'll stop and eat. I saw this little place next to the 7 Eleven, so I had to give it a shot. I will say, the food, once we got the correct order and some loose ends tied up, was great. The journey to that was a bit rough. Prices were a little high too, but I'm used to good cheap que in SC.

I don't know if it was new staff or what, but the service wasn't too good, pretty slow, even for HI standards. Kind of got some strange looks at first, not sure why though. I finally broke the ice though and all was good after that.

The problem with the food, was my wife's order was completely wrong from what she ordered. When she took it back, she kind of got a little 'tude with it, but they fixed it. The other thing, was after I got half way through my sandwich, I found a nice long hair in it. I'm not one to make a big scene about it, so I didn't even tell my wife. Just walked up to the counter and let the guy know. I told him the food was great, but I didn't order the hair, in a jokeing manner, which he laughed and appologized. They brought back the new sandwich and let us have it on them, which was pretty cool.

When we were done, I talked to the cashier for a few minutes, let him know the food was great. When we were leaving I saw a little group selling Huli-huli chicken for a fundraiser across the street, which was a bummer, because I would have eaten there instead. I'd like to give the place another shot, but living in SC makes it kind of hard.

Stopped off at this joint because they advertised latte's and coffee. We were driving from the North Shore toward the Oahu's windward side, when we passed by Uncle Bob's...errr...Uncle Bobo's (I kept on thinking of "Uncle Bob" from Terminator 2).

Anyway, my coffee was an excellent local "country blend", and I ordered a Breakfast Taco, and it was the BOMB!. My friend had an excellent latte and a breakfast sandwich; she raved.

Dis place is da bomb, bra! **sorry, I had to try the accent!** :)
