I take my whole shop here for lunch 2 or 3 times a month and always have great service. I think some of the reviewers need to be understanding when it comes to going here at lunch for the buffet there are a lot of people destroying this place daily for 2 hours and the staff does a very good job in my eyes at keeping up with the buffet making sure its stocked and trying to bus tables and keep the place clean I think if customers would help by at least stacking plates and wiping off their table it could be a big help for the staff.
Review Source:Well seems that the place has found a way to get us back in.
The breakfasts here have returned to their former glory. Â The eggs the last few times have been cooked properly, the biscuits are my daughters favorite and the prices for good basic breakfasts are very good. Â I did see that they are getting a new menu, so maybe the prices will change.
I also notice that they do have some really good drink specials. Â I didn't try anything yet because we usually find ourselves there during the morning hours.
My daughter even said...maybe we should make Vinny's are regular Sunday morning tradition.
I used to love going here for lunch, but it has gone way downhill.
Went to the little pizza buffet for lunch the other day at 1:00 and although they were more than willing to take full price for the lunch, they were reluctant to put out fresh pizza, never put out fresh french fries, and left two stale pieces of the fruit desert pizza out, and did not replace them either.
We left feeling ripped off.
July 11, 2012 Tuesday - dinner 6:00 PM
2 adults & a kid
Atmosphere - 4 stars
Food - 5 stars
Service - 4 stars
Background - Went to using my living social on Sunday to find out they close at 5 PM on Sunday's, had to come back today to use it before it expires.
Atmosphere - There was plenty of sports going on their TV's. Â We watched part of the baseball All Star game. Â The volume from the TV was a little too loud, but not to the point it was annoying.
Food
Appetizer - Wings, classic flavor nothing to extreme, simple and good.  We got medium thinking my daughter was going to have some but she ate none.
Main Course - We ordered a medium Genoa.  They have some many meat combo pizzas, but this one was perfect.  So much meat on the pizza you good not see the cheese or sauce.  Please I want some more, I can wait for those left overs now.
 Dessert - nope.
Service - Like I said we tried to come on a Sunday and they close at 5 PM. Â Why would a pizza place close so early? Â I get that you are an industrial park. Â But you might as well close at 3 PM; I can not imagine much business in between those hours. Â I looked at their web site afterwards and it only indicates the times the doors open, strange. Â Typically when I see that they stay open as late as needed, but the door has set times.
Future - The way my wife loved their dipping sauce we will be back.
As I noted in my last review, I WAS a huge fan of this place, then it hit the skids. Â Many others thought the same, so I thought I would give them awhile to get their act together. Â
Went back today to see it things improved, my optimism was not rewarded! Â Same problems as before, but worse. Â I thought in four months, they might figure it out, guess not!
Sorry Vinny, we won't be back.
I just stopped by here to pick up some lunch take-out. I ordered a cup of minestrone soup, which was very good. It was hearty and full of veggies with macaroni pasta. It came with cheese bread sticks that weren't so good. They were dry, hard and greasy. I also ordered a slice of pizza from their lunch buffet (for only $0.99) but it was  very tiny. Then when I took a bite of the pizza, it had TONS of short, clear, plastic strings in it. I don't know what it was exactly, but the tiny slice was full of it.
Review Source:I've only ever been here at lunch and most of the time I get the pizza buffet. Â I've also ordered pizzas and consider it to be delicious!!! Â They also have a selection of other items, but the best menu item is the pizza IMHO. Â The staff is also friendly and the place can get very busy at lunch.
Review Source:I still like Uncle Vinny's Pizza and I can recommend it to others. There have been some changes in the past several months and the quality isn't what it used to be, so I'm giving it three stars now.
It's mostly niggling problems. Like when I go for a sandwich for dinner the salad bar isn't fully stocked. The pizza is still better than chain pizza but it's not as good as used to be.
Like I said, I still like Uncle Vinny's and I'll still eat here. But the decline has been noticeable.
Let me start by saying I am a huge pizza fanatic. I went here with a friend after he gave rave reviews on this place. I have only been here once because I have had far better pizza in the Reno/Sparks area. We ordered the simple large pepperoni pizza. The crust was nothing special, but still tasted good. The sauce wasn't bad either, but the amount of cheese on this pizza made it really greasy. You could pick up a piece and grease just spilled off forever it seemed like. I wasn't impressed on this place, but it is definitely better than Dominos, Pizza Hut or Goodfather's.
I heard they have a great lunch buffet which I would have loved to try, but sadly I am not in the area enough and didn't have as memorable experience as I would need to travel to this location.
After posting my review about their lunch buffet, I noticed how many people were talking about their breakfast. I've probably been there 10 times for the lunch buffet and somehow glossed over the fact that there is indeed a breakfast menu. Sooo, went there this morning and tried it out. A+! I figured I had to try the chicken fried steak and I concur with all the other people about it, very good, crispy on the outside and not chewy on the inside like most of them! Generous portions and I really like the fact that everything is the same price. Makes it easier to decide in my opinion, not having to worry about price. (FYI, the price did go up fifty cents, $7.49 now, no big deal) After we ordered our food was out in less than 10 minutes, very filling and the chef even came out to ask how everything was and wish me a happy fathers day. HIGHLY RECOMMEND for breakfast and it's also nice that the full menu is available all day everyday if you are with someone who doesn't feel like eggs and bacon. Great local business, lets keep 'em in business!
Review Source:Today for lunch, my family and I dined in your establishment. Upon walking in the first thing we noticed was how MANY filthy tables had not been bussed. We ordered 2 pizza buffets and were disappointed to see that you have changed your crust as well as lessened the amount ...of topping that are usually on your pizzas. The salad bar was a disaster with an empty bucket of hard-boiled eggs (a personal favorite on our salad) and the ranch dressing was empty for 20 minutes after notifying an employee. The salad bar which is usually well maintained was a wreck! The pizza buffet was out of EVERYTHING no less than 3 times during our visit.
I understand that management has changed as of 5 days ago and I can honestly say I have NEVER been so disappointed. We dine in your establishment at LEAST once a week, sometimes as many as 3...we will NOT be coming back! It amazes me that a restaurant that I could count on has completely fallen in the toilet in less than a week!
Tip for Uncle Vinny's: Â If you are going on a weekday at lunch time get there around 11:45 because by noon this place gets packed.
I go for the lunch buffet every couple weeks with a friend from work. The pizza and salad are always good and the staff is friendly. At lunch time an employee roams around and offers everyone freshly baked chocolate chip muffins (nice touch). Â
I've also had their breakfast and for $6.99 it is huge. Â Another Yelper described it as "two platters" and this is accurate. Â It was the size of two breakfasts anywhere else you go.
Give this fairly new place a shot....you wont regret it.
Great spot!!
I went there a couple days ago for the lunch buffet,
Pizzas were creative flavor combinations with TONS of topping. not all skimpy like some lunch pizza buffets.
Lots of TV's and a proper bar environment all works real well for the room, good beer too.
Like someone said the bacon at the salad bar is kick ass, a little salty, but hey, its bacon .....
The manager ? (Owner?) was real freindly, greeting on the way in, and thanking people when they left.
Nothing real great about the bar waitress, nothing wrong, just nuetral.
Lunch and a pint for 12 bucks or so is pretty good deal.
My boyfriend introduced me to this place after his boss ordered some pizzas for the staff. They're not fantastic, or anything, but certainly not bad. I've tried almost every pizza on their menu. They give a decent amount of toppings for the price, though the one time I ordered extra ham/Canadian bacon on mine they forgot to put it on there, but still charged me for it. Lame!
They have very tasty buffalo wings; probably have the best sauce I've found, even if the wings themselves are about an inch long. I'm constantly disappointed by the appetizer plate. I order it for my Mom, but I never feel like there's enough in there for the price they're asking. The same thing goes for the fried zuccini sticks. They're tasty, but tiny.
Some of their sandwiches sound pretty killer, but since I never dine in and I have a dislike for soggy bread, I have yet to try one.
