I think we got a dud, because the corn was not good. Â I had better corn from Safeway a few days earlier. Â The corn kernels were old, and starchy, like corn tastes when it's... um... old. Â So old, in fact, that the corn stuck to my teeth. Â I can see how the seasoning would taste great if it were on a fresher cob. Â This was not it.
We asked the gals behind the grill if the corn was from Kahuku, but they said, "No. Â It's from Ewa." Â Okay. Â I think our visit missed the Kahuku corn season, clearly.
Yummy corn. Â Got the salt and pepper one and really liked the fact that they used larger grain salt. Â Its like a small explosion of salty goodness in you mouth...pair that with the sweet corn, and it's a heady combination. Â I do think that $3 is a lot for one ear...but what can you say? Â Everyone around us got an ear of corn to go with their shrimp for Giovanni's.
