I think we got a dud, because the corn was not good.  I had better corn from Safeway a few days earlier.  The corn kernels were old, and starchy, like corn tastes when it's... um... old.  So old, in fact, that the corn stuck to my teeth.  I can see how the seasoning would taste great if it were on a fresher cob.  This was not it.

We asked the gals behind the grill if the corn was from Kahuku, but they said, "No.  It's from Ewa."  Okay.  I think our visit missed the Kahuku corn season, clearly.

Yummy corn.  Got the salt and pepper one and really liked the fact that they used larger grain salt.  Its like a small explosion of salty goodness in you mouth...pair that with the sweet corn, and it's a heady combination.  I do think that $3 is a lot for one ear...but what can you say?  Everyone around us got an ear of corn to go with their shrimp for Giovanni's.

I would've never thought I'd be wanting or craving corn in Hawaii, but I was! After having a plate of shrimp from Giovanni's, I had to walk over here and see what all the hype was about. Tried their baja flavor which sounds similar as to what you would get in Mexico, minus the fresh cheese and mayo. The corn was crunchy, sweet, good amount of chili, salt, etc I pretty much finished the entire corn walking back to the car! Pretty solid corn & seasoning

Wow so yummy!  I love corn on the cob!  I tried the Baja style and my bf had the Island style.  I loved both!  Mine was mixture of sweet and bit spicy.  The butter and the seasonings they use is just on point! It's not too overbearing.  The first bite will get you hooked!  I will def be back!

Fantastic seasoning antd loaded with char-grilled goodness and plenty of toppings, very much (if not exactly like) similar to the Cuban style corn I've had in Soho.

If you were looking for that rustic, farm corn-on-the-cob freshness (sadly I was) where you can taste the sweetness and juice from each kernel, you're at the wrong spot.  But if you're looking for a bite to eat on the island while touring, it's a fantastic spot to hit.

Think simple when your get your dressings, don't get everything because then it tastes like something completely different and not appetizing, just ask for butter and salt and its good! Just wish it was cooked more, maybe burned a little

    3.5 stars...

It's located right behind giovanni's shrimp truck. My cousin was dying to try it bc she heard great things about the place, so we gave it a try (after we had giovanni's of course). Although it was good...not the best i've had. There's 2 flavors to choose from: baja and traditional island style. We had the baja (mexican style) while my cousin had the traditional. It's worth a try if you happen to be in the northshore, but not something i would go out of my way for.

Til' this day, i still think the best mexican style corn i've had is from cafe habana in NY.

When we pulled up to Giovanni's, I saw the sign for BBQ Corn, and I was like uh oh, bout to do some DAMAGE here.

I got the Baja style. It was ok, I wasn't as mind blown as I thought I would be. For all the seasoning on the corn, it was not extra salty which i liked. It just felt like corn with seasoning.

After a while, I brushed off some/ a lot of the baja seasoning, to where I can see the corn again, and it tasted a lot better. I suppose the baja seasoning was a bit too overpowering. I should probably try the island next time.

The people working were very nice and friendly and for $3 you can't really go wrong in giving it a try.

They have 2 kind: local and baja style, I like them both, must try if you visit Giovanni's Shrimp Wagon at north Shore of Oahu

I love corn on a stick.  What's not to love?  they have 2 flavors, Baja Style and Island Style, I liked the Island style better, simple with pepper, salt, butter and seasoning.  You won't see it from the street, park in the little center and it's behind Giovanni's shrimp.

    Worth a pit stop!

Love, Love, Love their corn! I tried both the Baja style and the Island style corn. I liked the Baja style corn a lot better. It had more flavor to it then the Island style. Their corn is sweet and grilled to perfection. There's only two people working at the stand so there's a line to wait in. If there wasn't a line I would have gone back for more. If you're in the area, I would highly recommend trying Uncle Woody's corn.

If you happen to be in the Kahuku area and have a few bucks in your pocket, and are in the mood for some roasted corn, head to Uncle Woody's BBQ Corn. They offer a few simple options for roasted corn. Each option is solid.

    Simply delicious.

This is how I would describe the bbq corn prepared and sold at Uncle Woody's bbq corn stand.  My cousin, who is currently on vacation from the 9th island (Vega$), wanted a "treat" after finishing lunch at Giovanni's.  Well, all I can say is that that bright yellow surf board proclaiming "BBQ CORN" quickly got her attention.

Uncle Woody's is located in the same area/lot as Giovanni's Shrimp Truck, and I would say the foot traffic from the popular north shore business benefits them greatly.  From what I observed, this is a 2 person operation (at least today it was), with 1 guy grilling/cooking the corn, while another applied all the toppings for customer orders.

They sell 2 types of bbq corn:

BAJA STYLE:  butter-mayo, lemon-lime juice, baja seasonings, and parmesan cheese.

ISLAND STYLE:  butter, black pepper, sea salt, and garlic salt

Each style is priced at $3.00 each.

I ordered the island style corn, while my cousin and her husband ordered theirs baja style.  Although there was simplicity in the preparation, the sweetness of the corn and the spices made for a very flavorful combination.  I wouldn't hesitate to visit Uncle Woody's if I am ever on the north shore in the near future.

    Bottom Line:  Simply delicious.

It's a small little tent set-up next to the more famous Giovanni Shrimp Truck in North Shore. Totally worth it, IMHO, better than the shrimp! There's only two choices, Baja Style and Island Island...you'll more than likely order both. I recommend the Baja Style - good mix of spices and flavors!

It's run by good local folks - happy to engage us tourists in some nice conversation and recommendations for things to do on that side of the island.

Fresh corn, fresh corn! They put the butter on there when you order it, not before. They then sprinkle sea salt as well as other stuff on there as well. Ask for light salt or you'll be wiping it off with your fingers as it gets much too salty. I like that they put a napkin at the bottom of the corn, where the stick starts, so the butter and salt won't get onto your fingers. GET CORN HERE.

The best Corn! I really enjoyed the "Local" corn. It you want an alternative to the shrimp truck, this place delivers! And the price is excellent!

After finishing Giovanni's delicious shrimps, we started walking around to check out the other food vendors.

We tried the "Island Style" bbq corn ($3) and surprisingly, it was pretty good! Butter, sea salt, black pepper and garlic salt.. simplicity goes a long way! YUM!

Initially we all came here for Giovanni's Shrimp Truck, but we found this little hidden gem. I like bbq corn, but after trying Uncle Woody's BBQ Corn... like is no longer, I love corn!!! I even try to prepare the same way back at home!

Personally my favorite is "Baja Style"! Its so ridiculously good! Dammit, I couldnt eat one, I demolished two - it's that delicious!

Ok this is a must EAT when going to Giovanni's Shrimp Truck.  My recommendation is order your shrimp and since you have to wait come here for the corn. I tried the Baja style and it was very very very tasty.

Who doesn't love grilled corn? After my husband and I enjoyed our lunch at Giovanni's we walked over to Uncle Woody's BBQ corn to see for ourselves if it was worth a try. The smell won my husband over so he ordered the island style corn. He took a bite and the look on his face made me want to try it as well. I liked how it wasn't dripping with butter. The seasoning was not out of the ordinary but it made the corn taste so delicious, it wasn't extremely salty where it overpowered the flavor of the grilled corn. The size of the corn was a bit on the small side but I guess you had to save room for the shrimp nearby right? The only thing I regret about eating this corn is that I forgot to bring floss.

Awesome corn - two flavors and they are both good! You have to try this place out if you're in North Shore... right behind Giovanni's Shrimp truck on the Kamehameha Hwy!

$3 fresh bbq corn on the cob.

Got it "baja style" (lime juice, Parmesan, seasoning salt, butter...). Had the perfect amount of seasoning without being too salty.

Tried both the Hawaiian and Baja Style.  Both are excellent.  The Baja is slightly spicy, but not too much, reminds me a little of Bay Shrimp seasoning, but better.  My 7 y.o. LOVED the Hawaiian style and still talks about how good it was even though we are now back home on the mainland.  Wish I had a recipe to recreate it at home.  Goes well with Giovanni's shrimp scampi.

Located behind all the lunchwagons in Kahuku, convenient for those who love Giovanni's (I prefer Romy's).  It's a one stop for shrimp and grilled corn in you like.  Parking was hard and road was uneven and dusty.  As far as the corn, it was good.  We had the Island Style corn- butter, black pepper, sea salt and garlic salt.  Next time we'll try the other (there are only 2 kinds)... the Baja Style- butter, mayo, lemon-lime juice, baja seasonings and parmesan cheese.

Delicious!! I tried both the Baja Style and the Island Style. They were both really smokey and good. If you like more spices, then go for Baja Style, and if you want to taste the corn more, go for Island Style. If you can't decide, go for both! I personally like the Baja one better because I like the kick and strong cajun-liked flavor.

It's $3 per cobb, which is not too bad for a snack. Oh yeah, fast and friendly staffs!

I don't think of myself as a corn person (especially on the cob since it gets stuck in your teeth), but wow, Uncle Woody's sure serves some yummy corn!

You'll find them by Giovanni's shrimp truck.  You can order corn as a side dish or an after meal snack. They only have 2 styles or corn to chose from at $3.00 each.

#1 Baja Style - butter, mayo, lemon-lime juice, baja seasonings & Parmesan cheese
#2 Island style - butter, black pepper, sea salt, & garlic salt

Personally, I go for #1. I've had "Mexican style" corn before and was never quite fond of it, but I sure liked it here! My husband likes his with extra butter, extra seasoning & extra Parmesan cheese! LOL

    AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING!!

$3 will get you a delicious and juicy corn-on-the-cob with a bunch of tasty crap on it! I don't even know what seasonings they use, but man, it is so stinkin' good. We got their baja version and it was tasty. Amazing how these two teenage girls were able to make the corn this good. You go, teenagers! I'd definitely come back because of you! (Well, because of your corn, really.)

So we are tourists cruzing back to Waikiki after an awsome day on the North Shore and my wife says we need to stop on the way back at the corn stand...OK...never tried BBQ Corn and happy wife happy life...so we tried it. Both styles: Regular and Hawaiin style. I could eat it every day..It could be a meal! The girls serving were super friendly and my wife was happy happy. I was surprised to see so many locals hanging out there...they know good (and cheap) food when they taste it I guess! They were "Yelp" savvy too which was a nice surprise. They may be doing a "check In" discount in the future so check first.

Cobs are on the small-side but that's ok because:

    1. I love roasted corn
    2. We're on vacation
    3. It supplements the Giovanni shrimp

If you don't like shrimp, but everyone you're with is here for the shrimp trucks, go to Uncle Woodys. And Giovanni's which is right next to it, has a hot dog plate for $3.50 which the other trucks don't have.

The corn is medium sized, sweet, well grilled, and comes slathered in butter, salt, and if you order baja style, some other spices. Delicious. The service is very friendly as well.

Just park next to Giovannis. Cash only, $3 each.

I have had better cooked corn.  I would like to say though Uncle woody.  I heard you say that this is kahuku corn.  sorry but this is Ewa Corn.  I know I live in Ewa beach and know the difference.  PS you should hide the Alune Farm box (from Ewa)  that is on your web site in the picture behind you.    Also the corn is brazed with a torch.  just to let you know that corn has no sugar so it can not be caramelized.  it just taste burnt.  PS.  Woody's is another Haole trying to be local.  Bra. Really.

I love me some corn.  I love smothering it in butter, loading it up with salt, and eating it eat while sending kernels flying all over the place.  What a great way to get vegetables!

Uncle Woody's has amazing corn.  You get two choices for seasonings and both are delicious.  It's super cheap too.  I wouldn't recommend Giovanni's, which is right by, but I would definitely come here for some corn.

Uncle Woody's BBQ Corn is AMAZING!!!  I think we must have had it at least 3 times before we left Oahu.  I even tried to go on our last day there.  The Baja style...omg! Delish!  That one is my favorite by far!

LOVE the corn here it is so sweet.  They only offer two flavors Baja and Island.  I bought the Baja and my sisters husband bought the Island.  Baja is really good with the sweet and spiciness.  The two women working the booth are really kind and down to earth.  This place is fairly new, they are located behind Giovanni's.  IT is defiantly worth going to.  $3 a corn.

Its O.K.    I appreciate that the corn is sweet and locally grown,    so why the hell do they have to slather it so much in butter and sprinkle it in all that rock salt?   It's tooo damn salty!    Much too salty.     Suggestion:  leave the condiments on the table and let the customer add on their spices and salts to their discretion.

Nice family owned business showing the island spirit

Hot damn, this corn is good!

It's sweet, locally-grown Kahuku corn, grilled & covered in a variety of delicious seasonings (I highly recommend The Baja).  The corn is crunchy & juicy, Uncle Woody & Lauren are super nice & the price is right ($3/cob).

The only weird thing is that they start the corn on the grill, but finish browning it with a blow torch.  That's weird, right?  Still tastes really good though.

Located in the lot behind Giovanni's Shrimp Truck.
