Ok, we live in the city and I was totally totally pleasantly shocked after coming to the Vault!  Great drinks and drink specials, beautiful space with a nice theme.  Three of us had a variety of food, but the burgers were exceptional!

I would definitely go to this place even if it was in the city.  Downtown Lemont - thank you for impressing me!  We were there a little bit earlier on a Saturday (around 5-6), so there was 1 other table besides us in the restaurant.  I hope that this place gets more crowded in the evenings!  Its a fun gem in downtown Lemont!

What a cool place.  I am more of a lounge type if girl than the 'wow it is so loud in this bar that I have to scream' type of person. The vault fit my likes perfectly.  It was very laid back and a great place to relax and talk with some friends. The bartender made a mean apple pie shot that tasted exactly like apple pie.  It could potentially be very dangerous.

I went in expecting very little (considering what a flytrap the previous establishment was) and came out pretty thrilled with my experience.

    5 stars on the decor

5 stars on the bartender (Bree??)

4 stars on the food. The food was very good, but there needs to be a couple legit entrees. I typically love smaller menus because that usually means that they're very good at those items. Just something slightly beyond the sandwich/pizza menu would be a giant improvement

Lemont really has some quality food downtown.

Another good find in Lemont!  I have to admit, at first my husband and I were not as impressed as we are now, but we almost feel bad for even having this impression because the bar was -just- opening and really starting up a good menu with only a few craft beers to choose from (we are self-proclaimed beer enthusiasts)  Even with that, the service at the bar was always great, which is why when we had an out-of-town guest who wanted a nice place for dinner and beers in downtown Lemont, we took him here.  I am so glad that we went back to the Vault, because we found that since our first two visits, the bar has really taken strides to make sure the customers have a great selection of mixed drinks and beer available-- and according to our server, the bar is in the process of expanding the beer selection even more.  To top everything off, the food is above-average for "bar food," making this a really great option to throw out to friends when we're trying to decide where to go for a bite and some drinks. We're looking forward to coming back again and checking out the ever-expanding beer selection, and have been passing word around to others to do the same.

It was a pleasure to dine here on a recent Saturday for a late lunch.  The menu had a nice variety with apps, pizzas, sandwiches and BURGERS!  I ate one of the best burgers of my life here.  It was the perfectly cooked medium - so juicy, so delectable.  I instantly started drooling the moment it hit my lips.  Oh, I also had the goat cheese and mushroom pizza and was blown away by how fresh the ingredients were.  The service was also amazing - very attentive and anticipating our needs without us having to ask.

The room is on the small side - but I wouldn't quite call it cozy.  The bar is rather large and dominates the space so I wouldn't recommend this spot for children.  However, it is tasteful in decor here and a great place for ladies and gentlemen who like to lunch.  I wasn't here for dinner, so I can only speak to the ambiance during the day which I found to be laid back, with a touch of class.

The Vault was a fun place to relax and talk on a recent Saturday afternoon.  I used to meet people in Lemont about  ten years ago so I wanted to check it out and see what was happening in this cool historic area.  Unfortunately, not a lot is happening in the general area but on this street, this restaurant is providing a bright beacon of hope.

The space is very warm with brick and the original bank vault.  The bar is sleek and full of glistening glass and bottles of liquid courage.  The menu is compact with just enough choices to make picking interesting.  We split a Chicken Pomodore Panini with Sweet Potato fries.  I loved that they divided all the food for us on two plates and my half seemed like a big lunch! The Panini and the fries were both fresh and I gobbled them both up.  The bartender/server was very perky and accommodating.

There was only our table and one other plus a couple of people at the bar so the vibe to me was restaurant that happened to have a bar.  I can see however that at night, the vibe would be much more of a bar that happens to serve food.

Now my true confession.  Whenever I pass a fire alarm, I think, what would happen if I pulled it?  I have never pulled one...yet. Now I have a new frisky amusement to ponder - what would happen if I managed to lock myself in that vault?  Come here and see, you will wonder that yourself.

Nice atmosphere with a simple menu that delivers.  I had the burger with pretzel appetizer and was very happy with my order. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a place to eat in downtown Lemont.

Okay, first off, this is NOT a restaurant. I imagine it makes quite a cozy cafe during the day. The atmosphere on a Sunday night during football season? Definitely a bar. Nice looking place, it was a bank back in the 20s so that was their chosen motif. Nice, clean, inviting.

The menu is as small as the dining area. 3-4 appetizers, a couple salads and a few sandwiches. A small pizza menu as well with 4 choices; none of them being a classic pizza. Being in the business, i know first hand that the best way to control the quality of your food is by keeping the menu simple.

The service was good. The bartender waited on us. She had a few tables and some patrons at the bar, so she was running around a bit. It took a bit for our Rib Tips appetizer to get to us but it was sooo worth the wait. The ribs were fall off the bone tender and the sauce was sweet and good.

For our dinner we all had sandwiches. My son had their burger which he enjoyed. My wife had a chicken ciabatta sandwich which she liked. I had the Ribeye sandwich. It was on the same ciabatta bread as the chicken sandwich. Delicious. With your sandwiches you got the option of sweet potato fries, steak fries or salad. My only complaint would be that the steak fries were your typical frozen, fried variety. Plain and boring. Considering the amount of food business they had they could easily do a nice fresh cut fry made to order that would be more flavorful.

It was a bit of a drive for us to get there. Not sure how long it will be before we make it back. Hope the menu gets revised a bit in the meantime. Small can get repetitive for regulars quickly.

New bar and dining spot in downtown Lemont.  Food - Fantastic.  Service - Top Notch.  Atmosphere and decor reminds me of a downtown Chicago bar opposed to a downtown Lemont bar.  I have gone there 4 times with my wife and we have gotten the same quality service and food every time.  The owners even walk around occasionally to check up on you.  A nice, well run, business in downtown Lemont - AT LAST!!!

For a bar that just opened up, you wouldn't know it. This is exactly what I've been looking for in downtown Lemont.

Right away, you can tell that the owner put hard work and heart into the place. The decor is simple, clean and welcoming. They've done a great job of keeping a smaller bar uncluttered by leaving plenty of room for those to walk past the dining area.

The atmosphere is fantastic. They have a bank themed decor, complete with photos of articles about the actual bank that the building used to belong to. The articles describe the robbery and it gives you a piece of Lemont history while you're there. The lighting is nice and soft and the music is low but appropriate. We went with a larger group of friends and as we were laughing and having a good time, we didn't feel as though we were being too loud for the other patrons. Most importantly, we didn't feel we had to be loud for the person on the other end of the table to hear us.

The wait staff was extremely friendly and you didn't get the sense that they were new to the place at all. Everything seemed to run smoothly as our 6 or 7 meals all came out in good time and together. The owners, Bob and Al are extremely friendly and by talking with them, you get the sense that they truly care about their business and that you have a great time. They seemed very appreciative to have our business.

The food also exceeded all expectations. Everyone I was with was very happy with their order. I personally ordered the BBQ Chicken pizza. As BBQ Chicken Pizza goes, they can be very good or very bad. They have an AMAZING rendition there. Right away, when they set it down, you could tell that it came out of a legit pizza oven. The crust was golden brown, crispy and fluffy. I noticed right away that it was topped with tomato, green onion and fresh cilantro - all good things in my book. The pizza's sweet BBQ sauce played very nicely with the more savory elements in the onion and cilantro. It just had a very "fresh" taste to it and the cheese was melted perfectly. I was thoroughly impressed. I'd order it again in a second but I can't wait to try other menu options.

I had several different cocktails while I was there but one of my favorites that i had (multiples of) was the Dubs Dread. It's a simple cocktail with sweet tea vodka, lemonade, and a lemon wedge - but damn, is it refreshing. I'm more of beer drinker so I was very glad to see they had one of my favorite beers in bottles, Rogue's Dead Guy Ale.  I also enjoyed a Fat Tire on tap while I was there too.

I honestly can't wait to go back to the Vault Cafe and Bar. I really felt welcome, comfortable and everyone I was with had a great time. Go there for food, drinks, a game, a night-out... it all makes sense. Don't hesitate to check this place out; you'll want to discover it soon before others start to find out!

Is that a new bar I see in downtown Lemont?  I'm in.
Hungry and wanting to relax and watch some baseball, I decided I'd pay this place a visit.

    Atmosphere:
Thank God.  A bar in downtown Lemont that isn't a sh*thole.  In fact, it's quite the opposite.
First thing I noticed is that everything looks new and is clean inside and doesn't have that 'old building' smell like some bars/restaurants nearby (I'll be nice and not call them out).  The decor is simple and classy. Lighting is dim and relaxing.  Behind the bar lies an actual vault.  Apparently, the place used to be a bank a while back.  The owner got around to actually opening the vault while I was there and the thing is huge!  It is also designed very nicely and adds to the appeal of the place.  The volume of the music is low.  The volume on the TVs is low.  And that's a good thing.  Everyone is busy socializing, smiling and having a good time.  Isn't that the whole purpose of going out?  Sure, the games of the day (yanks/tigers playoff game when I was there) are shown on the TVs, but this isn't Buffalo Wild Wings.  You're not gonna get 10 viewing angles and 20 TVs in your face with 'on-the-field' sound.  But who cares?  Not me and not anyone else that comes here.

    Food:
    Rib-Eye Steak Sandwich = Awesome
I'm not really a big fan of steak sandwiches.  Probably because I'm never impressed whenever I order them from other places.
Not this one!  The steak is juicy but not greasy.  It's soft and tender and just so much easier to eat than those dry, tough steak sandwiches I've had way too often elsewhere.  The bread they use on this is great.  I don't even remember what kind of bread it was but it's fresh and soft and a little bit crunchy.  Delicious.  Provolone tops it off.
For my side, I opted for the fries.  They were steak fries and they were pretty good (not too salty or greasy).

I'm definitely coming here again.  This is my new go-to bar whenever I want to just relax, eat some grub, have some drinks, and socialize.

    See you soon Vault!

I recently went here for a Bears Game. It had just opened up one week earlier, so it was pretty new. It was very clean, friendly and the staff was attentive. 3 or 4 flat screen TV's with the game on in HD. I ordered the Rib-Eye Sandwich. It was delicious and the fries were crispy and delicious. I'll definitely come back again. Free Wi-Fi was sweet so I could check my fantasy football scores.
