i'd personally like to take credit that they removed the cheddar cheese from the fish tacos here. WELL DONE, i say. cheese on fish tacos is a god damn travesty. seriously.

    but it's gone now.
    oh you're welcome.

can I just say the Hola burger is out of this world? i ate it two days in a row over the weekend. i want one right now. that HAMBURGER BUN. heaven!

I've been here two more times since my initial review and am pleased to report that service was fantastic. In addition, they have a nice patio area outside that is great in the summer. Thursday night is Ladies Night = half price drinks.
One question: How does a bar NOT have a blender to make frozen drinks?!?!?!?

I still have a bit of nostalgia for the old Verona Inn.  That place was the dive-iest of dives.  However, the new and revamped Verona Inn is nice and clean, with a decent selection of food and beer.  It's a good place to come for a relaxed, low key night out.  The crowd here is a very local one.

Very nice looking bar/restaurant and the beer is cold.  Other than the hamburger everything else is mediocre at best.

I visited the Verona Inn last Sunday and loved it. The staff is friendly, I love the shiny warm wood decor and that the place is spotless.

Although there was a game playing the place did not feel crowded and was not loud. Music was playing at just the right volume to let you carry a conversation and was perfect music for the rainy weather (think upbeat Paolo Nutini, Lumineers, etc). Ordered bourbon and both times they served generous portions. Service was attentive but unobtrusive.

Verona Inn is going down in my list of local favorites. It's a casual but not "dive-y" pub, I would love to come bank to enjoy with friends, on a date or even for low key celebratory drinks.

Met up with a few locals at a bar down the street (O'Neils) and they suggested we come to the Verona Inn for a more "happening" scene. They were right. Friday and Saturday this place is bumping pretty hard and is very packed. Lots of people in their mid to late 20's and early thirties. I went back on Sunday evening, and they close at 12 on Sundays per Verona town law. There was only a few groups patronizing the place on Sunday night, but the staff and manager are still cool people.

This is definitely a small town bar, and you could see that most of the locals and patrons were all childhood friends. The beer is priced fairly at $4 domestic pints and the shots were a little pricey, but not insane at $7 for jager bombs. Parking is pretty good and open on weekends even when the place is really packed if you park in the lot on the back side of the bar. There is a smoking patio in the back, and it's a good social place to meet people.

I will be going back, but only on Friday or Saturday night...it's more fun and a great place to meet people.

This is my favorite bar in the area! I love the drinks and food and especially the service. Everyone is so nice and friendly. I take my kids there for lunch and then go drinking with my buddies at night. You can't beat the wide selection of $5 beers. The crowd is usually a bit younger than any other taverns around. So if you don't want to see any gray hairs, go to the Verona Inn and do some shots with the cute bartenders.

Our waiter George was great....the beer was good....may have been one of the best burgers I ever had... My problem is the place advertises that they have the NFL Direct Ticket, they have approximately 9 TVs, but they don't show all the games. I went there with hopes to watch my Seahawks play their last regular season game, and when the 4:30 games started I noticed they had the Packers/Vikings game on 3 TVs and the Patriots/Dolphins game on 2 of them. When we asked George if he can switch one of those TVs to the Seahawks game, he went and talked to the manager who said she wasn't changing any channel. Her explanation was that customers always ask to change the channels and they had stop it. Just stupid. Why advertise that you have the Direct Ticket if you're not showing every game? Needless to say i am never going back there. The manager is an idiot.

The new VI atmosphere, is clean, dark and homey.  Don't go there for the food.  I've been there several times and have tried something different each time. Each dish has been dry, tasteless or over cooked.  Definitely not worth spending the money on food. The only good thing on the menu is the chocolate chip skillet.  If you order a burger, it doesn't even come with fries, you have to pick the potatoes you want from another part of the menu. Even one of their specials one night, the sliders, came out with the shredded cheese just thrown on top, not even melted.

Now about the bartenders.  Tara is the only one who hustles and pays attention to everyone she is taking care of and makes recommendations. It doesn't matter if you are male or female, she will hook you up. The guys, if you are not a regular, you will be waiting along time to get served, even if the bar isn't crowded.  The other girl bartenders cater to the guys that flirt with them or tip them well.  As a woman, you have to really flag them down to get a drink.  Customer service is not their forte at the bar.  I guess they don't care about repeat customers or customer referrals.

It is very dark in there.  They could bring the lights up a bit, so that you could read the menu and/or see the list of beers on the wall behind the bar.

They'd do much better if they trained their staff in customer service, food and drink knowledge.  It wouldn't hurt if they smiled once in awhile.

Food was fine, but really slow.  Like 30 minutes for a burger on a Monday night where there were only 4 tables occupied slow. Fine as a place to get your drink on, but sober the place doesn't cut it.

I thought the staff was rude and the owner was extremely unfriendly. Not a smile on his face the entire night he was there. The food is blah, sort of tasteless.  Also, i love dark bars but this place is just too dark, its silly !   We could barely read the menus and we are 25 years old and it was only 6 at night. Back to the cloverleaf for us and our friends ! I will say as a bar to hang out and drink in it's fine but that's about it. Still i'd rather go else where.

The food here is mediocre at best, but I don't think food is the appeal here. It's a bar. And as a bar it is a great place to hang out.  If Yelp would let me rate separately for bar and restaurant, I'd give the food 1 star and the bar 3 stars. They also have direct tv so you can count on seeing all NFL games on Sundays.

One other thing: they have really great special deals each night.  Ex:  Wed is date night:  1 app, 2 entrees and 4 drinks for 39.00.

Good place to watch some football. Decent beer selection. Been there about 5-6 times now, each time hoping that the food quality had improved.  Each time I was disappointed. The food is awful.
Also, if you are not a twenty something, you bill be ignored by the staff most of the night. Back to the Clover Leaf for me.

I really enjoyed this place.  We came on a Sunday to watch football and being that it was my first time here, I didn't know exactly what to expect.  The place consists of a decent sized bar, lots of high top tables, an outdoor patio, and a separate dining area with booths and tables for people wanting a more quiet meal.  We had a large group and the waitress was very accomodating with putting together several hightops right in front of the tv for us.

The specials included $1 sliders, 50 cent wings, bloody mary bar, and $10 towers of bud light.  We ordered a lot of wings, sliders, and beer.  Something on the menu that caught my eye, was the large variety of tator tots they had to offer.  We decided to order three different kinds all of which were pretty big portions for $4!  The buffalo and blue cheese tots were great as well as the Vermont cheddar, bacon, ranch, and chili and cheese tots.  Next time I would like to try the white truffle and parmesan tots.  Also, you can order all the varieties in tot, french fries, or sweet potato form. The menu also included an interesting variety of burgers and sandwiches all reasonably priced.

The décor was fresh, clean, and new.  This place is great for families or sports fans or even for a date.  During the games, it wasn't so rowdy where someone would be intimidated to come in.  There was a very chill and friendly vibe.  The waitress was great despite us having a large group of 10 people.  My glass was never empty.  I wish I lived a little closer as I would be glad to make it my go to bar!

Food quality is just soso. Steak Tacos were chewy, Burgers weren't anything special and I actually could only eat half. Chile Fries had no taste considering how much cheese and chili are on them. I gave it 3 stars because of the wings were good, its clean, outside patio, and nice atmosphere.

I have to rank this four stars.  Is it as good as cloverleaf probably not which is the closest i can think of nearby.  It is however interesting.  Newly redone the tots menu is a decent sized portion and very tasty.  Mac n cheese side is delicious.  Martini was alright, not the best.  The service (a young guy very thin) was outstanding.  The ceaser salad was not good.  But if you want a nearby place simple with some delcious sinful foods like the tots and mac by all means this is your place.

I was very excited to get some good food and listen to some good music.
Skip it, the staff was rude and the food was not good. I prefer to go to a place where they management does not treat you like crap.

So to start we had to ask for light.  Not just old fogey's like my wife and myself, but my 14, 19 and 23 year old kids had their phones out trying to read menus.....stupid.
They hand us menus, ask if we want something to drink, but since the beer menu is half the menu it takes a minute (especially with no light).  So my son and I ask for 2 beers off the menu, neither is available, we ask for 2 more.....guess what not available....OH...that menu is out of date...no kidding  If you going to have a beer menu that changes often, don't make it fancy on the back side of the food menu.  Even the new plain white paper beer only menu they finally handed me was out of date.  UGH.

Food is basic, and over priced. The burger (Blue bird) was flavorful and almost moist, the dry huge roll sucked all the juices out of the burger.

One son had the bypass he liked it except the english muffin was too small for the burger, at least it wasn't dry.

Onion rings were good.  Disco fries good.

What's with the wrong beer glasses for the beers?   IPA should be server in pint glasses, not snifters....only reason to do that is to charge too much.

I visited here for the first time this evening. I have no complaints about the food, the service or the ambience.  The rub was the price of cocktails.  $12 for a martini is just outrageous.  Similarliy, I ordered a Grand Marnier after dinner which was also $12.(Less than a shot, I swear!)  I called the manager over to express my displeasure and he gave me $25 gift card and assured me that the prices would be adjusted the next time I visited.  I'll give them another try, but I have to say if they continue with NYC prices on Bloomfield Ave., they won't last long.  Too bad.  Verona could use a restaurant of this type.

Gross!  Looks a lot nicer than it tastes.  I ordered a French dip and it arrived on a round potato roll with no dip.  The waitress didnt know what au jus meant, and the sandwich tasted like the crappiest frozen hamburger cooked in a microwave.  Also, tater tots and a sandwich cost $17.  Avoid this rip off.  Nice on the outside, expensive and unsatisfying on the inside.

You can tell right off the bat the new & improved Verona Inn straddles a fine line between sports bar and wanna-be gastropub. With flat screens blaring over & under twenties banter, it's the new kid on the block, trying to set a standard for the strip.

Beers equally priced at $5 per pint range from Coors Light to a micro Double IPA offering - both which shouldn't grace the same menu regardless. They also supposedly have a rotating monthly "open" keg, which I asked about - but was kicked (at the moment).

Decent pub grub @ $10 & up, with a Big Smile.

Really, this is a safe haven for local high school graduates who are dating their parents credit cards and too scared to venture into Greenwich Village to hear live Jazz instead of glaring at up Utah's screen and post.

It's their loss - but it doesn't have to be yours. Keep heading up the block for serous microbrews  at Cloverleaf Tavern, which are so stellar, you won't care much about the lunch menu. We need some work here, but it's a starting point at least.

Been twice, will definitely be back in the near future.  Oh man they had the A/C PUMPING when we had those 3 or 4 crazy hot days in a row - per-fect!  Outdoor seating?  Nooo thanks, I will bask in the glorious central air for the next hour and a half.

The *only* reason I am not 100% crazy about the -very-new-and-very-fancy- Verona Inn is something that can definitely be corrected...... something that always, always gets me, every single time..... know your beers.  That's it.  There's two Victory drafts - what are they?  I'm as blind as a bat - no, Raspberry Wheat is not Victory, whatever, I'll look at the menu, le-sigh.

Ok, so the servers are a little bit of newbz, and I'm an asshole when it comes to that stuff...suffice to say, not the end of the world, just a little irksome.  This isn't the Cloverleaf where they are shoving their MBA program in your face at all times - no, this is a place that is taking long strides in having a modern, clean, upscale sports bar - with good food & good beer.

Very nice draft selection.  Rotates seasonally, with what appears to be the standards of every local bar - Yueng, Guinness, Harp, etc...  I am just waiting for one bar - ONE - to start pushing beers that absolutely no one has heard of, other than the Cloverleaf.... sorry to keep referencing this other bar, but this *would* appear to be their main competition.  Get some Lithuanian beers, that will just push it over the top!!...(ie Werewolf, so good... haven't seen this one locally)

Our food was good on both visits - burgers, mac n cheese (so tasty), chicken caesar salad, wings - standard fare but done well.  A little pricey, but nothing absolutely ridiculous.... plus, I think Guinness is around $5 bucks a pour, not too bad, not too great either.  I think they really are going to shine at having the "upscale" bar food appeal... if there is such a thing.... because the food doesn't taste particularly greasy or gluttonous.  We shall see in 6 months if this is still the case... I certainly hope so...

Food is okay, nothing I would go crazy over. Burgers are good, but way overpriced. Extra 4.00 for fries? On a 11.00 burger? Fries are a throw in. They're cheap and usually will keep people coming back.
Servers are very friendly and quick. Good service. 2 burgers, 2 fries, 2 beers, 1 glass of red wine - 62.00? W/O tip.
I'd like to see it work, but they have to adjust the prices.

I love this place! It's brand new (thankfully since the last crappy spot that was here left).

For dinner hours, you can sit inside at tables, at the bar inside, or outback on their outdoor dining patio. I suggest the outside! It was so relaxing and the tables have umbrellas. The food was really great and our waiter was awesome.

For night hours, you can go to their bar which is more like a pub scene. The acoustics are bad- its pretty loud and hard to hear. However, their selection of beers is HUGEEE and interesting. They also have amazing "spuds" aka fries of different variations. I really liked the parmesan and white truffle oil ones. The bar does have tables to sit at, so it's more of a service-bar rather than a let's-elbow-everyone-all-night type of bar. Our server was realy nice and awesome.

    Love Verona Inn!

I want it to be better. There is so much potential for this newly opened spot on Bloomfield Ave.
The staff was great; bartenders were very friendly and the manager was nice.
The food wasn't great. The chopped salad was very boring and not chopped. The burger was basic and not flavorful. The fries were described by a friend of mine as a 'wet noodle.' We also ordered the mac n cheese which was, hands down, the worst mac n cheese we have ever had. It was luke warm on one half and the other half was cold, guess they should invest in bigger heat lamps.
Beer selection was interesting, apparently the coors light rep gives great hand jobs. Nothing from Anheuser Busch, and oddly missing the basics, like stella or a cider. But everything was at a great price point, which allows someone try lots of different beers without breaking the bank.
The decor was great. Beautiful interior, extremely comfortable bar seats and the back patio will be a great place to spend a few summer afternoons drinking the day away with friends. It's extremely dark inside, maybe a few candles on the quieter nights to brighten the place up and keep the early week customers from getting sleepy.

A place with great staff and great potential, we will definitely be back... Just not for dinner.

Went here to meet up with someone real quick for a beer, and ended up staying for more. This place is pretty cool inside and looks brand new. Bunch of TV's around, friendly staff. AND UFO ON TAP. This place, while a little far from home, will hold a place in my heart. They have UFO white and UFO Raspberry (Wifey Likes) on tap. This is very rare. They also have a ton of other beers on tap. The prices aren't cheap, but the value seems good. They also have a back patio. More bonus points.

I might not know where to park, but it looks like just street parking or risking it at the bank.

    Will go again.
