  Saturday night karoke at the VFW.  A pretty good crowd, old, young...how can this be the first review?!?!?!
  
  We were at a fundraiser in the main hall - it was just fine, a nice facility to rent.  But this bar is a prototypical mid-western quasi-respectable dive.  The karaoke DJ was a ball-cap wearing Vietnam-era possible redneck who clearly favors country.  The customers were a mixed bag group way short on shame.  I don't get out for karaoke very often, but this one is definitely Example A of what the inventors probably didn't have in mind - my best description is "croaking the classics."
  
  Then, of course, you'll get the odd cute girl get up there and actually sing good, setting the whole place on its ear.  I wanted to ask if she needed directions.
  
  Bring a group, get drunk, admire the pictures of past Post dignitaries, sign up for REO or Journey and see what happens next.
