It wasn't very busy and it was a good thing too. Â
there was only one waitress who was also the greeter who was also the cashier. Â She disappeared in the back for awhile, so she might have been the cook too for all I know. Â Nice salad bar. Â They don't keep it very full, but they keep it fresh that way. Â Good sandwiches and specials. Â
They serve breakfast, but don't open until late which seems kind of silly to me..
I've probably driven by this place a thousand times in the year and 2 months I've lived only a few blocks away in Muncie, but never paid any attention to it, as I'm not a gyro fan. But they recently put up a big sign advertising their breakfast specials, and that got my attention, so after finding one good review here, the missus and I thought we'd give it a try. We were a little surprised to see how late they open: 8am on Saturdays (and I guess Sundays), and 9am (!) on weekdays. But our breakfasts were quite good. I got the 2 pancakes, 2 eggs and 2 strips of bacon, and they were all pretty decent. The bacon isn't the best I've tasted, but it was far from the worst. The scrambled eggs were cooked just right, and the pancakes were on par with IHOP (I like them much more than Sunshine Cafe's, where I often go for breakfast). My wife got biscuits and gravy with scrambled eggs and sausage patties. I tried what she had, and they were all good. The sausage was kinda middle of the road, but the biscuits and gravy were top notch. And this is coming from someone who used to live in the South. It's much better than Bob Evans' and I like the biscuits better than IHOP's. And the prices were very reasonable. We ended up paying a good bit less than we usually do at either IHOP or Sunshine Cafe. Anyway, we definitely plan to go back.
Review Source:Gyros and pancakes to be had without a Greek in sight!
Formerly a Donatos and Skyline Chili, this place is much needed addition to Muncie's midWestside. Â All your basic burger and pancake fare is present, but the gyro was the missing link from Muncie to civilization. Â
I had one of each. Â Gyro, served dine-in, came wrapped in foil, no garnish. Â Moist lamb and whatnot topped with a bit of onion and less tomato and a smear of tzatziki on a hot pita. Â It's all I wanted. Â The pancake was just that. Â There wasn't a single ala carte pangcake option, but that didn't faze me or our server. Â She charged me for an English muffin.
The menu is laughably bad, but that's always half the fun. Â Order of pita dread, please!
Mexican linecooks, tidy bathrooms, lotsa parking, and hopefully later hours in the future will make this joint popular with the insomniac Family Kitchen set of our salad days.
It's across from Taco Bell and all that sht, so you've no legitimate excuse for not knowing where it is. Â
Next time, I'm gonna have rib tips and French toast. Â Because I rule.
