In the revolving door that is the 18th and Boston area, I am absolutely thrilled that Vintage 1740 thrives. Â From the comfy vintage furniture to the extensive wine list, Vintage is what I picture when I think of a wine bar. Â They also have a good beer selection and a full bar, so bring along your oenophobe friends! Â It's a great place to hang out with just your BFF or SO or a large group of friends.
Review Source:This is my absolute favorite bar in the Tulsa area.
It is both casual and intimate. A great primary destination, or a place to grab drinks after an event.
A great wine selection, but my favorite thing to get there is one of their seasonal cocktails. The menu always changes, so when you go you may see an old favorite, or something totally new. Be daring and branch out. Also, the staff is great with helping you decide on a drink and will always give you their honest opinions about a cocktail.
One of the first things i ever noticed about the bar was that on the TVs they play silent movies. Why don't more places do this! How great for a place that gets pleasantly packed and noisy to have silent movies playing. That was especially awesome. Also, great overhead music.
While the bar gets pretty crowded on the weekends, you can usually always find a place to sit, and everyone (staff and fellow patrons) are always very nice.
I would suggest dressing up to go here. Cocktail attire. Â The place is nice, but not overly so.
Looking for a comfortable yet exciting place to unwind and drink some beautiful wine?
Yuh. This is is the place.
Walk into this dimly lit bar and take your pick of either sitting in the elegant chairs or couches, bistro tables, or at the bar.
This place is NICE, really nice. But not intimidatingly nice. You can dress up or down and still feel like a zillion bucks. The servers are all so kind and really love the wine and want you to love the glass you order, too.
This is a place I take my out-of-town friends to show off Tulsa!
Thank you Vintage 1740 for bringing a class act wine bar to Tulsa, OK! Being from a big city up North, I love a nice glass of wine in an environment that boasts class and comfort. Vintage 1740 has nailed this one.
All of the wine selections are great. The staff working there are very helpful in recommending different wines that  you might be interested in trying based on your likes and dislikes.
My favorite treat to get is their homemade/ hand rolled Chocolate truffles! They come in 4s if I recall, and they are to die for. A great add on to any glass of red wine! Hits the spot ladies, if you know what I mean!
If you are looking to not spend a whole lot of money, than just enjoy a couple of their wine flight varieties. These are smaller glass samples of different wines. You'll still have a great time, and not burn a whole in your wallet.
Vintage 1740 will continue to be the place that I bring my out of town guests to for a great glass of wine!
A great wine bar with an awesome variety of wines and seating!
We enjoyed the outdoors since the weather was great, but inside has high seating, low seating with couches and such, and seats at the bar.
Prices vary on what wine you get, obviously, but you can also get 3 quantities: taste, glass, and bottle. So you can, for example, enjoy a variety of tastes (about $3-5 dollars each) until you find one that you want a full glass or bottle of.
Our waitress was extremely helpful, and I lucked out since she pretty much had the same taste in wine as me. She gave us excellent recommendations, and we look forward to returning here.
There's free parking just around the corner in the big, open lot across the street from the fire station.
The "classic" cocktail renaissance afoot in other cities has largely passed over T-town, but the staff and owner at Vintage have a working knowledge of mixology and viticultural subjects. Â This is the only bar in town that can make you a decent Sazerac (try it!).
I know they serve cold food also, like cheese, hummus, and stuff like that, but I haven't tried them.
The price-point here can be higher than other bars in the neighborhood, but its worth it.
Pricey.....
If you want good wine go over to Polo Grill or something better and don't let this facility try to feed you, the two things that I sampled were terrible.
Impressed I am not but is ok if you are into someplace trying to be nice, but isn't. The facility is very fake, this is bad for my hometown of tulsa to have.
Upscale Drinking Experience. I used to sell watches and this was the venue were we had a Panerai invite only watch showing. For what the bar is, its really the only game in town. Specialty drinks made to perfection for the upscale clientele. Great wine list, strong pours and no riff raff. You wont wanna walk in there with jean shorts on (guys). Let me put it this way, if you ever wear jean shorts don't go. Classy, friendly bartenders unlike pink close by.
Review Source:I am not into wine. Â At all. Â It is okay sometimes, but mostly, it really isn't my thing. Â
That said, Vintage is still a nice bar. Â The ambiance can get a little thick with the wrong crowd (the type of people who buy really expensive wine because they watched Sideways), but overall it is pretty quiet and a good place for a conversation and a drink or two.
Their specialty drinks are good, my Scotch-drinking friends like their selection, and I think the service is decent. Â I have yet to sit outside when I go, but that seems like a nice idea.
This review boils down to some basic points:
- Try out Vintage, especially if you like wine. (This is via my wine-drinking friends.)
- Do not plan to get drunk at Vintage, because it really isn't the place for that, and you will end up spending upwards of $50 on not enough alcohol to be properly sloshed.
- Everything will be more expensive than you expect, so don't make this your whole plan for the night if you're short on cash.
Yeah, yeah- Vintage can be pricey, BUT- this place kicks ass. Totally worth the extra scrilla. The ambiance is so freaking awesome. I've had some of the best conversations here, with both my friends and my family.
The bar not only boasts tons of different wines (duh), but a full bar and wide selection of beers, as well.
Don't go hungry- the snacks are expensive and meager. But- if you do need some food- there's always Oscar's next door. Review coming shortly...
