This place is hit or miss.....sometimes the food is good, sometimes it leaves me wanting more..... They have a lot of healthy options on the menu as well as their calorie count avaliable...(I'm weird and I like things like that). If you're looking for healthy, you should order the wahoo salad with your choice of meat or fish, with cilantro dressing, the blackened fish tacos, or the tortilla soup. The bowls that they have are a big portion size and will fill you up.....I especially like the maui bowl....with black beans and whtie rice...but I usually get the kids size so I don't waste food. The rice and beans are a bit bland and plain, so I mix a whole thing of salsa in with them to spice them up a little. The employees are usually nice......there's one guy in particular. the guy that delivers the food, I forgit his name, but he is really really really nice...almost TOO nice. But it's good to know that the employees are genuinely happpy....(where do you ever see that these days?) It's not really "authentic Mexican food.....if you're looking for authentic Mexican, go down the street to Las Golandrinas. If you're looking for healthy, come here.

Food was great, like the Kahlua Pig Bowl with white rice and black beans.  See a movie afterwards at the Krik!

Fish, shrimp and mushrooms were great. The chocolate chip cookie was totally gross. I should have asked for a refund :0( Neither Jeff or I ate it.
Except for the girl who tried to take our order (I don't think she could've graduated grade school!), the service was fast and courteous. The restaurant and bathrooms were clean.  I do think they are slightly over priced though.

Over all, because Jeff loves it I'd gladly go out of my way to go again.

The only one worth going to is in Laguna. The food here in San Clemente tasted old, and the ahi rice tasted way to fishy. To bad.

My wahoo salad with chicken was just ok. But because everyone else's meal was great., the service was awesome, and the atmosphere was cool, I'm bumping my rating up. I'll go back for sure.

Food is good, service is great (after paying and getting through the person that is taking your money) they are all nice and friendly. Thats all that matters. Good food, good service and you get a 5 star. Or maybe im just in a good mood. Who knows.

Give this wahooos a try. Next to a weird theatre (they clap in the intro) lol. Kirkorian theatres I believe the name was.

    Disappointing!

I had a fish sandwich with onion rings and the fish was missing on half the sandwich.   To make matters worse, they only included 5 little pieces of onion rings.

    Definitely not worth $8!!

We love Wahoo's in San Clemente.  We eat there so much the staff knows us by name.  The food is awesome and believe me I've tried everything on the menu.  My favorites are the enchiladas, and taco's.  For a real treat try the Maui onion rings. The staff is friendly and the price is right.

Truthfully, I can only review the 2 fish taco combo platter ...cajun style.  It's all I get with no plans to mix it up (learned that lesson at Pedro's when I strayed from the fish).   I find that Wahoo has more and better quality fish than other chains.  The downside...the shredded cabbage is about 4x as much as needed and the tacos can be a bit dry. They could easily solve the latter if they added a mayo-esque sauce (chipotle or something) like the one used at Chronic.  That green sauce they are using here is pretty weak.   All in all, I think the staff and atmosphere are very nice and the food is fairly healthy and quick for the price. I could eat this often and it feels fresh and light.

Great price for grilled fish. They made up a special dish for me. Grilled fish with rice and mushrooms. Sooo good. It's not on their menu but they will make it up for you if you are not into the corn tortilla tacos or enchiladas.

Healthy choices that taste great.  The staff is wonderful, helpful and even knows our names.  A neighborhood favorite for a Friday night family dinner.

Try the Baja-Lada's with green sauce.

Excellent rolled chicken with a tomatillo sauce that's very tasty. Staff is awesome and the food is outstanding.

Been eating at Wahoo's since the first one opened in Costa Mesa and is still a favorite.

SO CLEAN. The guy who serves the food is SO nice. Treats everyone like his best friend! Plus I love the food. Best rice in town. Though my favorite is the wahoo salad.

I had high hopes after visiting the Wahoo's Fish Tacos in Temecula but ended up with overpriced and undercooked food. On the high side, I was able to slap a dozen more stickers around the restaurant chain. Don't call the authorities just yet, they encourage it.

I ordered a fish taco and fish enchilada with green sauce and rice/beans ($7). The fish was alright, the beans and rice were terribly undercooked and there didn't seem to be a hint of flavor. Taco Bell had more flavor that this meal. The sweat from my underarm would have tasted better than the food I was given. I didn't expect to have to shovel down food just to eat a filling lunch.

I won't be back, especially for the quality/cost factor.

The fish taco was really dry and over salted. Will have to come back another day for a redo.

I usually come in to this Wahoo's a few times per month.  The service is always friendly and efficient, which is helpful when you are getting a quick bite to eat out of the office.  I usually order the Veggie Bowl off of the Kids' Menu since the portion size is perfect!

I LOVE Wahoo's!  Cajun chicken and Cajun beans are my recommendations.  And get some of the green sauce on the side...it is so yummy!!

The fish tacos were good. The fish is grilled, not fried. It's cooked nicely but it isn't very flavorful. If you like simple and delicious then it is good. However, when you order something like a carne asada burrito you expect flavorful meat that has been seasoning for hours that will melt in your mouth. Not what you get here. It was good but still simple and bland. The restaurant itself is kind of cool. Looks like a surf/skate/snowboard place. However, I'm sure that's common here in California.

I am reviewing the San Clemente Wahoo's only.  If you've been to Wahoo's you know what to expect.  I usually get the fish tacos or Maui bowl; both are great.  The food is good and the prices are ok (around $8-$9 for whatever plate I normally get).  The only issue I have with this Wahoo's is when I place an order over the phone.  If you call in to place an order, call in about 5-10 minutes before you think you need to, because no matter when you call, you will be placed on hold right away.  Wahoo's usually has a ton of people working in the restaurant, but for some reason they have the people that take the orders from the in-restaurant customers also take the phone orders, while other workers are standing around in the back.  Therefore you only get to speak with someone when they are not busy taking orders from people inside (which rarely happens).  Other than this the food and service is great.

This place has pretty tasty food and it's healthy too. I like the huge menu they have, that you can choose white or brown rice and that you can order beer. The decor is pretty sweet...I wish they had one of these in Phoenix!

I am not reviewing Wahoo's (you can read that all day) but I am reviewing this location.

The dining area area was easy to navigate.  Staff was friendly and helpful (we asked for several extra things & they brought them quickly without complaint).  The food was fresh (as at all Wahoo's) and quickly delivered.  Parking was easy.

    Overall another great location!

    Pro: Good chips

Con: Salsa from a Jar, undercooked rice, disgusting white and bad beans. Poorly prepared fish, disgusting burrito, and over priced.

I mentioned before that this place is a your last resort before hitting taco bell... well, I was wrong, just go to taco bell. The parking around is pretty insane due to the theater, which makes the lunch rush even more miserable than it has to be...

My party ordered two fish taco combo, shrimp burrito combo, and two chicken tacos... non of us finished, it was just that bad.

If you just don't any better, come to this place... if not, hunt down a Mexican place with actual Mexicans not white people.

When I am feeling like something small and healthy, I usually wonder here.  The food is good, but not great by any means.  I usually get the kids teri chicken bowl with brown rice and chips, my boyfriend always get the blackened chicken tacos.  Both are satisfying.  I tried a fish bowl a few times and found it to be a bit on the fishy side.  I hated the taquitos, couldn't eat them.  The guac is okay, but the boyfriend likes it.  He despises the rice, and he is a huge lover of white rice. The staff is great, always super friendly and smiling.  The prices are okay, I think for the concept it should be a tad cheaper.  But overall, not a bad place but good.

Decent portions of bland food.  A good place to take visitors from the east coast and your grandparents.  Friendly, fast service, and good value.  But you can do better for Mexi food nearby @ Olamendi's.

I love this place! I eat here at least once a week, and sometimes twice in one day. The style is a mix of Asian/Pacific/Mexican food. It meshes so wonderfully, and for pretty good prices. The portions on the bowls are huge.

Some of my favorites: Maui Bowl, Wahoo's Fish Salad, Shrimp Enchiladas with Red Sauce, Banzai Bowl.

Don't forget to look for the beer of the month. It's only $1.75.

The staff is also extremely friendly, making it a point to say "thank you" and "goodbye" to each and every guest that leaves.

One last tip that not everyone knows: If you buy the largest size drink and get the plastic cup, you can bring it back every time after that and you'll get 50 cent refills. :)

I wish I could say THIS Wahoo's is the best but it currently receives a rating of no stars. The Health Code Department should be notified. No doubt is there lots of seating with fast service and friendly workers but if you eat somewhere that is not sanitary that is not acceptable.  One of the workers collected the dishes and wiped down the table as a customer was leaving and took their half eaten chips and salsa and placed it back where they gave fresh chips and salsa behind the cashier!!!! If you don't think that is food poisoning waiting to happen, I don't know what can top that. I do not think I will be ordering chips and salsa from this Wahoo's ever!

I heart Wahoo's. This is their best location. Lots of seating, both inside and out. The service is fast and friendly. I always get a #2, grilled fish enchiladas with red sauce and black beans. Last visit I went wild and tried the soup (it was a cool, foggy evening) - totally good! My husband can't live with out this place - we're here all the time.

This Wahoo's location is my personal favorite.  Great outdoor seating in an enclosed patio although it's a bit noisy due to the traffic (the ocean breeze makes up for it).  The waiters are exceptionally fast and friendly.  The rice is actually decent here (at other locations it's dry)!

    The food?  Well, it's Wahoo's!

I love these fish tacos.  They're not breaded and fried, but fresh and grilled.  I could eat these puppies every night of the week.  There's not much more to say, except that the spicy beans?  Super spicy.  And the ahi rice?  Super tasty.

Better than Rubio's.  40 million times better.
