My husband and I have frequented Westside Alehouse since they've opened. I agree with other posters - they have made DRASTIC improvements in both service and their menu since opening. I'm glad we gave it a second chance! It's important to us to support local Round Rock businesses as I-35 is chain-restaurant-alley. We were so so excited that Round Rock finally had a true "alehouse." Yes, the decor is a little odd but they have a broad selected of local beers. Way more than any nearby restaurants or local bars like Junior's or Third Base. I think Brass Tap is going to be slight competition, but they are in a different ballpark altogether (no restaurant).

Overall - we like this place. There's always good beer on tap, never had problems with service, and food is always prompt and hot. We've tried a little bit of everything on the menu: the queso, burgers, boneless wings, wrap, sandwiches, fish and chips, and the kit kat dessert.... all of them have been good! We always seem to default and order the burger though; can't go wrong with a burger. I've even ordered the veggie patty on a few occasions and it was good. Both the regular and sweet potato fries are yummy.

Families, young singles, older couples, and business crowds alike have been here when we visit. It's really a good mix of folks. A place to go for good bar type of food, and a great selection of drinks. We haven't enjoyed the live music, but there seem to be bands out on the patio regularly.

Give it a try! And support local business!!!

Ok first time here... me and hubby decided to check it out as we are so sick of all the same ole restaurants around here.... jeez.... from the minute we walked in I knew it was going to be a good experience, big giant flat screens, pool tables, and shuffle board??? Yes!! The beer selections were awesome, even though I didn't have any beer, my hubby did, I decided I wanted an apple martini, you know the kind.... that tastes like the jolly rancher apple candy pieces...well let me tell you, the best appletini I have had since we moved out here 4 years ago, perfect, not too sweet, just right and reasonable priced in a very nice sized martini glass. (Our waitress barely made it to the table without spilling as it was filled to the rim)... Did I mention her by the way? She was awesome, Kayla, she was patient and attentive.)  So we decided to have a few items on the menu to get a well rounded taste, onion rings, buffalo wings, and a cheeseburger... we split everything. The burger was by far the star... I hate when some places like to overpower the meat with a pretzel bun, ciabatta bun, or something gigantic where you can't even taste the damn meat.... hello...... I want a cheeseburger not a breadburger....the burger was Delicious!!  Tender, juicy,  tasty, and the bun was just right: soft, and fit just right...We are carnivores from Chicago, this is what I am talking about! We had the Afterburner Burger, plenty of jalapenos, cheese, and like I said yummy! The onion rings were also a star, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, not frozen junk..... the outside is really nice too plenty of room, great for after work cocktails...... will we be back? You betcha!!
P.S. 2 drinks each and all that food for under $50.00 and this was not happy hour!
