Always good wings. I mostly come for the music. I don't frequent this location as often as the others, because the cigarette smoke in the bar area is intrusive for non-smokers. All other Wild Wing locations I've visited do a better job of separating the smokers from non-smokers. I suggest they limit smoking to the covered patio.
Review Source:Have patronized about 6-7 times in the last 12 months. Â Service is never great but is tolerable. Â I prefer take-out since I don't smoke or drink and there is a heavy dose of both.
Our most recent visit was awful. Â It was not a peak time. Â Maybe two other customers. Â The wings were good. Â We also ordered hot spinach dip. Â It was delivered to us in a 4 oz. Styrofoam container with a 1/2 inch of grease swimming on top of the spinach. Â When I first glanced at it, I thought it was some kind of greasy soup. Â It should have never left the kitchen! Â I asked for a refund. Â The server had to get the manager. Â Moments later came back without the manager and announced (as she entered into their system), their decision to adjust the amount of the original transaction rather than issue a refund.
So not only was my order demeaning and disgusting, I now have to monitor my account to make sure I won't be double-charged for something that I promptly returned to them. Â My advice, if you order carry out- check your order before you pay!!
This was an awful experience. Â Not worth the $34 dollars and time spent.
First visit and we went because of an on-line review which boasted them as being the best place for Wings, Burgers and Ribs.
We went for dinner on a Saturday around 7 pm.
Now I love onion rings but I like skinny, battered onion rings, not thick rings. Â I asked the server about theirs and she said they were skinny - even demonstrating with her fingers how thick they were. Â I smiled and explained how we don't like too much onion but if they were that thin, then we should love them and I added them to our appetiser order. Â We ordered Mighty Mozzarella Sticks as well. Â
5 minutes later, these big beefy hand-battered onion rings came out - they were nearly 2 inches thick! Â When she asked if they were ok we apologized and said that was exactly the opposite of what we were looking for. Â She looked disappointed (my DH thought she looked angry) but she asked if we wanted anything instead of the onion rings. She also apologized for the rings and insisted that this was the first time ever that the rings had been cut so fat.... Even considering that this was a one-off, I am confounded that she would proceed to serve us the rings knowing we had specifically talked about not liking big fat rings. Â So regardless of whose fault, the error lies with her for not noticing or caring enough to address it before she tried to make us eat them.
Anyway, we ordered some potato skins to replace the onion rings. Â My DH also asked for Ranch dressing as he doesn't like Marinara sauce with his cheese sticks. Â We were handed 1 small, 2 oz portion cup of Ranch. Â
The potato skins were tasty but since neither of us eat much sour cream, he asked for more Ranch dressing for dipping wherein we were informed the Ranch pots were 50 cents each! Â Realising he was getting Ranch with his wings anyway and not wanting to pay extra for Ranch or any dipping sauce accompanying food already ordered, he opted to do without. Â Usually I enjoy salsa with my potato skins but I wasn't about to ask and pay for a dinky cup of it that would barely serve 1-2 skins. Â The "Mighty" cheese sticks were generic, commercially frozen cheese sticks, no better than ones purchased from your local grocer's freezer section - enjoyable, but nothing special or mighty about them.
My DH didn't enjoy his Single order of 10 wings in 2 flavours as his "main course" either. Â Whether he was just put off by this visit and beyond recovery I am not sure but he only ate a few wings. Â He ordered 2 milder flavours - Jalapeno Cheddar (yellow on the heat scale) and Chipotle Jolt (yellowy-green on the heat scale) - and they were very tasty to eat but the residual heat from both sauces left him looking for more beer. Â I tried one of each and yes, they are very tasty but there is no denying the heat.... and again 1 tiny 2 oz pot of Ranch in which to dip all 10 wings.
For my main course, I thought I would try the boneless chicken "feathers" - boneless, skinless chicken tender pieces on a skewer, flavoured with any of the wing flavours; I chose garlic. Â The meat portion looked small compared to the image in the menu and the garlic sauce was basically crushed garlic and oil. Â No complementary flavours, no complex seasonings, not even salt or pepper. Â It was just bland and unimpressive white pieces of meat. Â My chicken came with fries that were small crinkle cut wedges, oven-baked with no seasoning or flavour or crispness to speak of. Â Again, bland and unimpressive.
We paid our $35 check - which includes the free appetiser coupon we had - and left knowing we'd never be back. Â I'm sorry, first impressions matter.
Perhaps we should have paid more attention to the fact that at 7-8 pm on a Saturday night in the early summer, this place was 25% busy with an empty patio.
