This place had such a fun, vibrant, energetic vibe. If you go on a Monday, the mojitos are two for $12 dollars. The key lime mojitos were good - not too sweet, but also not the best mojito of my life. Â We had a great time chatting with some folks we met at the bar. I would go back here.
Review Source:Kitchen doesn't open until 11am so if you are in port for a early cruise keep this in mind!
We sat down around 10:30am and enjoyed the Key Lime Mojito and the bartender was super friendly while we waited for the kitchen to order.
My husband ordered the Mahi Wrap and he says it is the best wrap he has ever had in his life. Â I ordered the coconut shrimp and they were pretty good but I tried his wrap which would have been a much better choice.
Go for the wrap and mojitos!
It's unfortunate their drinks are sub par because their food was really good. Surprising since we were expecting to nosh on just a few snacks... and drink the Cinco De Mayo away but ended up having amazing food. Â We shared the mahi mahi wrap and my boyfriend won't stop talking about it. Â Like literally was dropping hints on going back for it and using it as a basis for comparison for the rest of the places we went to. Â The atmosphere was typical drunk guy singing songs into his guitar that I was too young to know but I liked it. Also what's up with all the dollar bills everywhere? Â Make the drinks better and I'd gladly go back over and over!
Review Source:Absolutely LOVED Willie T's. The outdoor seating is great and I loved the dollar bills stapled EVERYWHERE! I was absolutely blown away by the food!!!! I had the Blackened Dolphin sandwich. The avocado butter on it was heavenly!!!!! Couldn't believe how good it was! I'm used to "bar food" up here in Memphis and it's always just okay. This place was WAY above what I expected and I can't wait to come back!!!!!
Review Source:I'll echo what others have said ... surprisingly good food. Â We walked past Willie-T's the first time we were looking for bar food. Â There were four of us which meant we needed a table and they had the mist-ers going and my wife didn't want to ruin her hair. Â The second time we sat at the bar.
We started with conch fritters and tuna as appetizers ... both were delicious. Â I had the basic burger was really really good .. better than any other burger we had in Key West. Â My wife ordered the fish sandwich and loved it - she said it was tasty and moist.
For drinks, we had mojitos, margaritas and beer. Â Nothing special, but no complaints.
As for service, the bartender was prompt, helpful and friendly. Â He didn't talk us up as he was pretty busy, but at no point did we feel neglected.
I suppose the only complaint I have was with the music generated by a duo performing acoustic songs. Â I found it a bit bleak. Â I would rather have listend to to radio music.
All in all though I would go back.
Willie T's - great drinks and special prices! Â WOW! Â Great music and outdoor seating. Â We went in September during the off season and it was perfect with not many people compared to the craziness I hear it's like during peak season. Â I prefer my space when I'm having fun!

Superbowl Sunday prior to heading back to Fort Lauderdale we were actually intending on going to another spot for the "best burger in KW" but it was closed due to preparing for the big game. So we happened to walk by this place with a huge outside patio overlooking Duval. We figured what the heck. It was nice out as well. They are known for there numerous styles of Mojito's. I had the key lime (very good and not too tart) and Captain Morgan (it was ok, somehow didn't jive well).
We ordered apps which never arrived. We were so looking forward to them. It wasn't all that busy but the waiter was one of the types that doesn't write anything down. Big mistake. So after waiting a while our meals came out. We explained about the apps and he was apologetic. Wanted to still bring them out and we refused...our meal was already out.
I went with the pulled pork special which made up for the "forgetfulness". The bun held it's own which is so key and the fries were ok. She went with the mushroom swiss burger which was very good. Although our burger fixin was set to be a let down, Willie T's did come through with their own. We were very pleased with everything despite almost being disappointed. 1 thing about the decor. You can request a marker and staple gun. You can locate a space on any of their walls, write something memorable on the dollar and staple it for a place in history. The walls, trees and bar are full of them. Even the ceiling...
It's definitely a good stop for some good food and fun atmosphere. ENJOY!
Had their conch fritters and gnocchi cakes. Fritters were a fried ball of conch, the key lime curry sauce makes them good otherwise it is just a fried food-meh. However the Gnocchi cakes were AMAZING! Highly recommend them. Also had the damn-good key lime pie and the name is perfect because it was damn good.
The live music is fun, ask to staple a dollar to their walls- you supply the dollar they'll supply the staple gun. Everybody wins
The atmosphere is great! Â TVs, live music, view of Duval street- 4 stars for that. Â My order of coconut shrimp were so inedible that I took 2 bites, couldn't break through the mega batter and waaaay over cooked shrimp. Â Seriously, I couldn't even rip the shrimp into a manageable piece to chew in my mouth. Â Yes they are huge as the server stated, but who wants a huge order of crap?! I'm sorry, I've just been so scarred by this meal that I probably won't eat coconut shrimp for 5 years. Â You'd think being surrounded by water would warrant fresh shrimp. These were frozen.
So all in all enjoy the bar, enjoy the music, just avoid those GD coconut shrimp.
Our first trip to KW included a few visits to Willie Ts. Â They don't have the best atmosphere, menu, food, or drinks, but what they do have is solid across the board.
Food was good.
Drinks were very good.
The price was perfect.
Entertainment was hit or miss. (Sparky and Redawg were amazing)
Staff was always attentive.
My wife and I hit every bar on Duval St in the 5 days we were in KW. Â We always found ourselves coming back to Willie Ts. Â Consistency is key, and Willie Ts has that on lock, and because of that I am sure we will end here time and time again.
Excellent service. we had a plate of conch fritters and another of calamari for the table. Â Best conch fritters we had all week. Â The calamari was fresh and tasty. And they had this key lime curry sauce for the fritters that was to die for.
I had the mahi mahi wrap and fries. The wrap was big with plenty of fish in a light BBQ sauce. A good balance of flavor. The margaritas were on special, 2/$10, so we had several. No complaints. Make sure you have a couple of dollars ready for the decor!
Super fun and entertaining. The live music was fantastic and changed throughout the day. The prices were reasonable and there was plenty of outside seating. This bar is a homeless persons dream, there are $1 stapled up everywhere. The staff has plenty of markers available and you can staple up your $1 and see if it's still there next time you visit.
Review Source:4 stars very well earned. Â Outdoor seating, live music every night, solid drink specials, and a very interesting crowd. Â
Sure its a tourist trap but it fully entertained my boyfriend and I for two nights in a row in Key West. Â We tried to go elsewhere the second night but after walking up and down Duval we ended back at Willie T's.
If we go back to Key West I will be spending more time (and money) at Willie T's
It took me a while to remember if I came to this bar or not. I was pretty drunk by the time my wife and I stumbled into the joint. Ha! But I remembered we did stop here once I saw all the photos of the money stapled to the wall. What I do remember is that it took forever for my wife and I to get service. So I'm deducting some stars for the lackluster service. The bar was also fairly dead, while other surrounding bars were just getting busy.
They had a live band going and they were fairly decent. Of all the places we explored on our night out, this one was probably the least memorable.
Two reasons I would recommended people to come here.
1. Good live music!!! (you'll know who's playing as you walk down the street)
2. Possibly Good Mojitos!!!
The bad reasons... Dont' come here for the wings... The worse wings I have ever tasted in my life period. Â It also didn't feel good in my stomach.
So come... good music and good drinks.
Got off a cruise ship and walked up to the Hemingway House for a tour to help me with my literary genius. Â On the walk back, we kind of found the downtown area and started looking for a place to eat. Â That is when we stumbled upon Willie T's and decided that it was worth trying.
Sitting outside in Key West having Conch Fritters was a great way to have lunch and people watch. Â The food was good, the portions were huge, and the waitress was one of the most beautiful blondes ever. Â Not sure what her accent was, but it just added to the atmosphere of people all over the world coming to Key West for their own reasons.
If I ever get back to Key West, I will return to Willie T's.
Great setting in Key West for lunch and a beer. Â Â Huge portions.
Another must on the "food- things to do" Â in KW!! Â The live music was great. They ought to hire Michelle Dravis full time! Mark was our server and was probably the best we had since arriving in FLA! The calamarie and wings were good apps . I then got the chicken pot pie....which I never order, but, was very pleasantly surprised!!
If we weren't leaving tomorrow.....we'd be going back!!
We ate here one night in Key West. Â I'm giving this place two stars because it had a decent atmosphere, a few draft beers, and an okay burger.
The conch chowder was pretty good and the burger wasn't bad. Â We were under impressed with the pizza and fries. Â I would have loved to try their bread, but apparently our table was the only one in the place that didn't get a basket from our server. Â Speaking of the server, service was really, really bad, even after I cut everyone a break for being on island time.
If you're thinking of bank robbery might I suggest a leisurely vacation to Key West instead? Just swing by Willie T's and pick up some dollars from there where they are hanging off every surface available, I even saw them stapled to the back of the bar chairs. There must be thousands of dollars in this bar because it ain't a small space.
Beyond the fire/robbery hazard of the bar though I really appreciate the mojito selection. I know, I know. A true mojito is mint, lime, white rum, sugar cane, and sparkling water only, but how can I resist tasting a key lime mojito or a black cherry mojito. In fact I can't even resist the coconut, pineapple, or banana flavors. And great, now I'm drunk and there are still like 37 flavors left to try in the mojito menu...
So, you could say I'm a fan of the drinks here I suppose. I'm also a fan of the outside patio that's half shade and half sun so you can choose your tanning options. And they have fun live music practically all the time. I've never had the food here so I can't speak to that, but for drinks I am definitely a fan.
When my friend told me about their wide selection of mojitos there was no doubt in my mind I had to go here. In fact, it was our very first destination when we got to Key West. I went with the classic Key Lime mojito that was a perfect blend of sweet and minty. The sugar cane stick that came on the side was a pleasant and welcome surprise. I also tried a dragonberry mojito and it was definitely different than mine but if you like that strong fruity taste then you'd enjoy this! I wanted to order multiple but at eight dollars a drink, I resisted knowing that these things could add up.
For food I went with the goat cheese and avocado salad. Two of my favorite things combined into a filling and aesthetically pleasing display! I cleaned my plate. I also had a bite of my friend's mahi-mahi wrap that had a mango salsa which was good as well.
There's no denying the atmosphere of this place is great. With dollar bills lining the trees, walls and poles and a thatched roof, this place embodies a classic Key West bar that always seemed full just about any time we walked by. It was a perfect way to kickoff spring break.
Another one of my favourite Key West Bars. I've got memories of this bar going back 6 years.
The walls of this bar are lined in dollar bills that have been signed and tacked up by the punters. And many of my bills are lining the walls are various parts of this bar. wonder if they'll let me have them back for a round of beer. he he
The food is typical bar food. I like their sandwiches best. Typical pub grub! The staff here are always friendly. Last year when I was paying for my lunch, my debit card jumped out of my hands, and went straight in between the floor boards, and the waitress actually took the time to see if it fell through the basement. Sadly, it didn't. And my card will forever line the floors till they get ripped out. ha ha
I will always return here!
What can I say, I love Willie T's! I have been there on three different trips to the keys. I love the ambiance, food and drinks. You could sit at a table and people watch as all the tipsy tourist walk by. On one of the visits we were lucky enough to have a live guitarist doing great covers at the restaurant. It was quite pleasant.
They have great BBQ chicken pizza and I happen to think that they have the best Key Lime Pie in Key West. From what I understand, they make their own Key Lime Pie.
The service and food has always been good and I can't wait for our next visit.
After several hours mooching about key West I needed a place to sit down and grab a drink and this was where I stopped.
Fabulously ticky-tacky Key West Bar with a killer mojito and a phenomenal terrace for watching the parade of people go by. Â We sat in the restaurant portion and went to the bar as there was no servers. When she did show up she kept sending us back to the bar, which was milding annoying but probably got us served faster.
I enjoyed watching the people go by -
- the middle aged couple having a big row as one of the girls wanted to stay and drink and theo ther did not
- the toothless couple with cowboy hats and mullets
- the ralph lauren -esque gay guys walking by
- the blond couple their matching blond teenagers who used the bathroom
- the throngsof teenage girls walking by ( note to self - Key West a safe place for teenage girls to hang out in crowds)
- the complete dearth of straight women between 17 and 55
Yummy mojitos in a large assortment of flavors, 100 proof tequilas, bacardi 151, and other  HIGHLY POTENT alcoholic beverages make this place an interesting drinking hole in the Key West. Â
A common saying, here, is "I got Duval faced on Shit street in the Key West!" Â
Duval Street is the main street filled with upbeat bars that offer 2 drinks for the price of 1 during happy hour. Â And they all offer a large assortment of alcoholic beverages that mirror the potency of moon shine. Â
The service is friendly and fast but the quality of the food fell short.
I came here on my cruise trip in June, we really wanted to eat and drink at jimmy buffet's but the line was out the door. So we went to willie t's which is right down the street. It is an outdoor cafe/bar, the mosquitos were definately biting that day cuz it just finished raining . I would have loved to try one of there mojitos or daiquiris but maybe next time. I ordered the:
JAMAICAN JERK CHICKEN WRAP
Jerk marinated chicken breast, caramelized onions, cream cheese,
Romaine lettuce and a mango -pineapple salsa............................9.75
Which was very very good and their famous fries. Good, refreshing, filling. Only complaint was the service, our waitress took forever and a half and didnt even check on us which was annoying. That plus the mosquitos was the only complaint . Would recommend for key west experience.
I came here for lunch with a group of my friends. We all wanted to drink their mojitos but we were all nursing hangovers. We had the iced tea and it was just what the hangover Dr. ordered. Our waitress even brought out a pitcher of iced tea and we didn't ask. Nice touch!
I had the BLT ranch wrap, thank goodness it didn't come with fries. The wrap was really good, just had too much ranch sauce. I also tried the mahi fingers, sweet potato fries, crab cake and grouper. I had bites off my friends plates and everything at Willie T's was really good!
Our waitress was very nice and attentive. We sat right on the sidewalk so we could people watch. One of the best things to do while you wait for your food. At Willie T's you can write on a dollar bill and they give you a hard core staple gun to hang up your dollar. It's fun to read what others have to say. Stop in if you're on Duval and you want some good bar food. I can't wait to go back and try some of their mojitos.
