Many draft and bottled beers to choose from. Thought the draft selection was light on IPAs and on local breweries (Mile Marker, Cigar City, etc.), though the taps do rotate from what I hear. Small food menu, but they do allow you to bring outside food in and get deliveries... unique. Also, being summer, I was expecting more seasonal brews or interesting session beers. Happy hour (4-7 )offers dollar off beers. Overall, liked the place and it should be nice fit for the area.
Review Source:This is a 100% beer joint. Â It's not really a Key West spot, but if you're looking for good beer, you're not going to find anywhere better than here. Â They have hundreds of options from around the world. No food here, just good microbrews, some macros, some local, etc. Â WOB is a chain, but I consider it one of the good guys. Â I wouldn't even consider WOB "touristy"...if anything it's anti-touristy, as it's new & modern, not run-down & divey like the Key West of olde.
Review Source:Fabulous gluten free beer called Omission. Quite pricey at $10 PER bottle but it was so good we came back later to have another. Since I have not been able to enjoy the taste of REAL beer since having to go gluten free, Â this was as close as you could get. The bar tender was extremely knowledgeable about beers which was most impressive and fun. The number of choices of beer they offer is amazing. Highly suggest it for real beer drinkers who enjoy trying new beers and learning as you do.
Review Source:Guy who? Â Yup the home of the Guy Harvey restaurant. Â Was there for awhile but name alone will not get the job done in Key West. Â Now with over 190 bars in just a short space you have to differentiate your business. Run down is good, good food better, big drinks at a fair price better yet and then of course entertainment....you are onto the formula of success in the Conch Republic. Â So how many run down establishments with leaking roof, no walls, lousy bathrooms can you find? And heck, the town has grandfathered these so you just can't put one up with all the codes today. Along comes World of Beer. Just opened a week or two when we pop in. Â I learn that this is a franchise and as a matter of fact with this recent opening there are 37 and by the time I stop typing probably 40! Â
My first impression was....what a bar! Polished, long, and I mean long. The black board behind the bar describes a menu of beers from parts unknown. Names unfamiliar to this angler. Â An education on flavor and percentages is handed to me in the form of a menu. Perfect descriptions of ales, lagers, wheats, stouts, and pilsners from across either pond or from right here in the good ol' U.S. Â Our bartender is well educated in his vocation and presents us with a multitude of options and yet questions these weary travelers to describe their needs. Â He looks me in the eye; I catch the stare and realize this kid is good. Â Does he know I'm a neophyte who can fake it pretty well. A stout but not a watery one like Guiness I reply. Â Mine should have a chocolate finish and not be heavy. Â I have him stumped now. He says "double something or other...." and disappears. Back with a tasting cup I try a wonderful beverage. One I can't remember but for now as I think back on my 6 days in Key West it was as good as any frozen drink I had and sure would have been perfect with a cigar. My new best friend delivers a perfectly poured pint of dark beer with a perfect head (a ten)and the incredible finish of chocolate!
So you ask why not 5 stars as generous as I am?  Should I score this merchant  simply on the fabulous beer and the other 1000 offerings; the atmosphere; the educated bartender; the fine craftsmanship of the beautiful bar; or the food menu.  Wait no food!  Yes, they will let you bring your own or even recommend a "to-go" place that delivers good stuff. But I was hungry now. No chips; no peanuts; nothing.  So off I went to another bar that served food; with a leaky roof; chickens on the tables; and a singer with an oxygen tank attached.
