Ok in all the years I lived and visited St. Augustine I never went thinking it was a tourist trap. Â It actually was very good. Â Decent selection of typical beach restaurant fare- burgers, seafood. Â I had the fried scallops which were very good. Â Great specials. Â Looked crowded we had no wait by going upstairs. Â I'd go again.
Review Source:My second trip to Oasis and it was about the same as the first. The atmosphere is pleasant and the food is good. I had the fried flounder and it was delicious; the potato was good. No hush puppies!! Can you believe it!? The service was very good, however, and I will probably be back on my next trip.
Review Source:Fun bar to stop for a drink after the beach. They usually have live music at night and lots of TVs showing every sport imaginable. The food is nothing to write home about. Â The "fresh" fruit is actually frozen/thawed fruit and the fish (Basa I think the waitress said) was mush; I took one bite and could barely choke it down. Now I know to go here for the ambiance and cocktails after a great day on the beach!
Review Source:I kept hearing about how good the breakfast was here. I was very disappointed . I ordered a menu meal and so did my girl friend. About 20 minutes later our waitress came to tell me that my plate had three things that they ran out of my my girlfriend had two. I believe they should of done a better job when we first ordered telling us things weren't available . How do you run out of grits ?
Review Source:I've been to this restaurant 3 times and each experience is worse than the last. Â The staff are incompetent with poor people skills. Â After paying our tab over $100, a waitress chased us into the parking lot and accused us of walking out on a $9 tab. Â It turned out another waitress had the PAID tab and the 2 of them failed to communicate. Â The waitresses were yelling at us and being very dramatic over THEIR miscommunication. Â After everything was figured out, neither one of them apologized for their mistake. The food and live music are decent, but sadly the rude staff earn this place 1 star from me. Â We will never go to The Oasis again.
Review Source:As an ex-Freeport, Long Islander, I've been stopping here when on I-95 for several years. My goal? To enjoy the Chili Special modeled after the one I used to get at Erhardt's on Woodcleft Canal. And it's always been worth it.
But this weekend that changed. Someone altered the chili recipe! Mind you, the chili is not bad. It's loaded with chunks of real beef, rather than chopped meat. But that's NOT what goes on a Chili Special. Please return to the old recipe! Thanks.
This was my first visit to "The World Famous" Oasis, and it was definitely a decent experience, even though this place has an identity crisis. The "beach dive bar" feel was great downstairs, but I took a look upstairs and it seemed more like a sports bar with TVs on every wall, and add in a live band? I wasn't sure what they were going for.
In any case, the atmosphere was good overall. We were downstairs on a Saturday night. Our server was friendly and helpful, although the service was just OK. There didn't seem to be that many people in the place, but our server wasn't all that available, so that was a little puzzling.
WARNING: If you don't want to be seated near children, go upstairs because after 9:00pm children are not allowed up there. A whole horde of families walked in just as we were finishing.
Prices were not as good as I would have expected. I feel like for what I paid I should have received more food. But the quality was excellent, and the food came out hot and fresh.
I would definitely go back there again for the food alone.
This used to be one of the best places for breakfast in St. Augustine, not any more. Â The food was below average, except for the biscuits! Â The homefries were the worst I have ever encountered. Â The service was just ok, we didn't have to wait for a table but did have to keep asking for drink refills.
Review Source:We were driving down A1A and found this great place for breakfast. It did take them awhile to get to us , as several tables sat at the same time. We had the omelette and the 2 egg breakfast with hash browns, toast and bacon. Nothing extraodinary but great  place and food was good. Looks like lunch and dinner are happening
They even have an outside kiosk that sells there shirts.
We went to this restaurant because the their listings in the "Best of St. Augustine" Category of Chowder for 2012. Â We ordered the Red Spicy St. Augustine's traditional style. Â Service was slow, considering all they did was scoop it out of the pot (we watched them while seated at the counter). Â The menu described a Bowl of Chowder "loaded with clams". First of all the bowl was the serving size of a normal Cup of Soup, and well, it tasted like Progresso Soup with a splash of Tobasco, heavy on the salt. Â Barely any clams, Â our bill for two bowls of soup and two Pepsi's was $14.00 and some change + the tip. Â This lunch was really disappointing.
Review Source:We had breakfast here and really enjoyed the eggs benedict...the hash browns were so bad inedible...they were OLD. We got to eat breakfast at 11 am so I am sure they were hanging around all AM. Everyone enjoyed their breakfast omelets and sandwiches...all was good except the hashbrowns.
Review Source:Tried this place for Breakfast and wasnt impressed.  There were about 6 empty tables when we came in and they made us wait for about 10 minutes before seating us.  waitress came over after another ten minutes and took our beverage order.  Coffee was an hour old at best took a while for our food to arrive and when ordering had to listen to speech about not sure if  you can still have that breakfast is over soon.  while we were waiting for our food to be served guy was by the front door with a watch telling people breakfast ended and they wouldnt be serving lunch for another half hour and sent people to another local restaurant.  Eggs arrived not cooked as ordered didnt even want to bother trying to get it fixed server was playing the duck and dodge with all her tables doubtful I will go back there for Breakfast maybe Lunch or Dinner
Review Source:Went here for lunch. I had the Shrimp Po' Boy Special. It was delicious and satisfied by seafood craving. It would have been nice if they had some outdoor seating but the second floor seems great for sports watching. TONS of TV's all around. And there was a fun trivia game on one TV we sat next to. Would recommend the Oasis for a good ol' fashioned lunch.
Review Source:Burger's are about what you'd expect from any sit down restaurant, nothing remarkable. The ribs are dissapointing, too tough and very dry. You can tell they're cooked and kept in the fridge for a few days until sold/thrown out. ie, don't waste you money on the ribs. They might have been better had they been cooked a bit longer at a lower temperature and then servered/sold that day.
Review Source:Stopped here for breakfast while visiting family in St. Augustine. The place was nice, service was quick and the food was pretty good! We had omelettes, pancakes and french toast, all very good. So were the home fries!
My only complaint would be the coffee. Strong but not very flavorful. Your basic "restaurant" coffee.
Went here many times for their amazing breakfasts and now i am back again with the UF surf club to watch a florida basketball game. We drove up from crescent beach specifically to come here and we were fullly satisfied. Our waitress  Peggy was super nice AND funny, but when my freind and i went to the bathroom my whole crew left- accidently leaving behind my 1/2 pitcher.. When we came back, to realize it was gone, we were sad, especially since we lost the game, so we asked the bar if they would replace the 1/2 pitcher. The bartender came back with a full pitcher of our shocktop not to mention an entire cup of oranges. This place is a five star restaurant with amazing customer service.
Review Source:Went here with 4 adults and 4 kids all 7 and under as we were vacationing in St. Aug. Â Loud, very casual place so it suited us fine. Â All went in very casually dressed, we actually saw one woman walk in a bikini w/o a coverup. Â Â Guys liked, women didn't...but that's not really relevant to this review. Â :)
We went around 6 and it was still happy hour. Â Great prices on drinks and then the food portions were very good as well as being pretty tasty. Â Was I blown away, no? Â Was it good and mostly reasonable, yup.
Broiled options .99 upcharge. Â They don't do anything for birthdays (the adult women were both celebrating, and all this place could do was put candles on a dessert you ordered.
After a sunscreened and salted body day complete with sand crusted toes, me and my little ones LOVE the Oasis. Located just off the beach...seriously, right there!...this is our favorite stop for yummy fried food and a super casual atmosphere (nobody cares if we have sand stuck to our legs!).
I am quite sure the food isn't superior to others, but the atmosphere and friendly staff make it a sure stop on our way back home from the beach. This place is kid friendly, even though it really is a bar, and the patio with the breeze, the pretty quick service, and nice waitstaff keep the kidlets entertained and full-bellied for the drive home.
I have been going to this little place, which is now a much bigger place, for twenty years...and I still love it. This is a St. Auggie beach landmark and will continue for years to come. Hungry and thirsty beach goers and tourists are sure to love it too.
Whether traveling up from the south, down from the north, or just vacationing in St. Augustine Beach, the Oasis is a colorful oasis, complete with bikers, RVers, beach lovers, sports fans, beer lovers, and especially, God's gift to man - icy cold fresh oysters on the half shell. It's loud, crowed and festive, with no less than a dozen flat screens assaulting the senses from every direction.
The Manorcan chowder is a spicy local fish soup, and the New England clam chowder offers award winning comfort and flavor. The extensive pub menu is mouth watering, and the drinks are free flowing. Service is happy, efficient and friendly. I will go out of the way to stop here whether staying in town or not . A short drive from I-95 over to A1A is worth the effort. The joint is aptly named.

I'm going to write this review of Oasis strictly as a drinking establishment, as I did not have the chance to eat any food on my recent trip in. I think the other Yelpers have covered that aspect quite well, however, so just check out the other reviews. Rest assured, if I had the chance to spend more time in this place gulping down delicious beer, I would've definitely ordered SOMETHING.
Location- great. Located right off A1A just near the beach. The ocean breeze hits you as you're walking in, and it has a very relaxed, beach-going vibe to it. There is a large restaurant type seating area downstairs, or you can head upstairs to a more bar type atmosphere. Lots of tables, and a huge bar offer up plenty of seating, even on busy nights. There are TONS of flatscreen TV's lining the room, where you can usually catch sports channels, although they do offer all the NFL games on Sundays, and I believe UFC fights, as well.
They have a full bar, of course, but the draft beer selection is very impressive. I was very happy to see that they had Sam Adams on tap, but then.... No way. Sam Adams Octoberfest? SCORE! Hard to find my all-time favorite beer on tap, but it's here at Oasis. That automatically made my night, and it would take a lot to knock it down.
Overall, the atmosphere was very chill. A lot of folks, young and old, sitting around, drinking beers, eating bar food, and watching sports. The service was very good, my waitress was very attentive, but very relaxed, and really took care of us. No drama here, and that's the way I like it. I would definitely drop a five star on this place, however it is a tad bit pricey... you're looking at about five dollars a draft. I absolutely don't mind paying that for delicious Samuel Adams on tap, but it's hard to swallow paying that for a Miller Lite. However, it is nice to find a place that offers up a fun atmosphere with no drama, tons of great beers on tap, and good service. Oasis is that place. Will definitely be back some time again soon, and will try to sample some food!
"Midnight at the Oasis"....We always sing this when we go to the Oasis.
We love it for what it is. A place to drink and eat decent food for a decent price. Oh and people watch! My husband and I love to go have a few drinks and watch a game on one of the gazillion TV's. Food is no big woop. This visit we wanted to watch some basketball so we headed upstairs, but it was packed. So, we walked down to their outside patio. We had a very nice and efficient server. I wish I could remember her name! The only thing I will say about the patio is the music was pretty abysmal. It didn't have the vibe of a beach bar, more like an old folks home. It was a creepy sort of jazz that should only be played during brunch at the retirement villa. Kenny G would have been upset!
Come on, Oasis! Keep it beachy and current!
I could give this place two different ratings. Â I will start with the positive - the bar is great , you can always find interesting regulars and tourists to talk to and they pour a good drink. The staff is always very friendly and is a mix between good looking women and guys who always like to shoot the breeze. Â They have live music, almost every night, from solo acts to bands playing music you would expect to hear near at the beach. Â The place is packed every time I go there.
On the down side I have never thought the food is that great. Â The fish in the sandwich I had was mushy and the clam chowder is very bland. Â The oysters are good, but it is hard to screw that up.
Overall I really enjoy going to the bar, getting a cold one, listening to the music and watching the day go by.
Back in the day (how I hate that phrase) this used to be THE casual place to come to. Â I'm sad to say that with subsequent visits over the years, the food and service have been a disappointment. Â I'm not sure if one of the reasons is because they expanded (Oasis used to be teeny tiny).
Whatever the reason- Â please come back old Oasis- you used to be a real find.
Okay, so he peels the label off his Bud. Â According to a very sweet bar tender here at Oasis, this is a true sign of sexual frustration. Â NOT. Â But thanks for the warning. Â Stopped in for a quick beer and to admire all the bikes out front. Â Harley Man reigns!!!! Â Very amazing beer selection on tap, so, good place to quaf a few and get acquainted. Â Didn't eat; couldn't get the smile off my face long enough.
Review Source:Fried food (from the sea and otherwise) in all it's greasy glory. The beer's cold, the fries are salty and the grouper sandwich (which is almost certainly not grouper) comes with a pickle. Ask for a bottle of Tabasco if you like to spice it up, as this stuff comes a little bland, but it is definitely fresh out of the fryer.
