This was always the go to spot when I was in college. Awesome live music, great view of the inner coastal, the fort and the bridge of lions and the most simple yet awesome bar game. Super cheap drinks and they have live music fairly often.
If you can I'd recommend venturing over to the left side of the bar on the outside and playing the chain on the hook game. I've caught myself playing that for way longer than I should have. Only downfall, the bathroom line is always way too long (they only have 1 guys and 1 girls) and it can take a while to get a drink sometimes.
LOVE this little bar. On a recent trip to St. Augustine, we discovered this gem while bar-hopping on a Saturday night. So glad we decided to go in. Experience was great from the guy who ID'd us at the door, to the bartender, to the band. The door guy was funny, showing us all the cool holograms that make up our ID's to ensure it isn't fake. And the bartender was friendly and down to earth, as well as super patient. Make sure you ask about their specials, because we really enjoyed the 4 drinks we ordered, which came to a whopping $15 bar tab (Bacardi mixed cocktails).
The band was great, with more than just your standard guitar and drums, they had brass instruments, as well. They started out strong with some Incubus, and then some more little known things and then the cocktails hit and I was dancing to whatever.
The bar sits across the street from the fort, and offers a great view during the day. It was quite chilly the night we visited, but the ample space heaters kept us warm on the outdoor patio. It looked like the only indoor seating option was the bar, so most patrons hang outside. The bathrooms were clean and easy to find. There's also a liquor store right next door.
Will definitely visit again on our next trip!
