This was always the go to spot when I was in college. Awesome live music, great view of the inner coastal, the fort and the bridge of lions and the most simple yet awesome bar game. Super cheap drinks and they have live music fairly often.
If you can I'd recommend venturing over to the left side of the bar on the outside and playing the chain on the hook game. I've caught myself playing that for way longer than I should have. Only downfall, the bathroom line is always way too long (they only have 1 guys and 1 girls) and it can take a while to get a drink sometimes.
LOVE this little bar. On a recent trip to St. Augustine, we discovered this gem while bar-hopping on a Saturday night. So glad we decided to go in. Experience was great from the guy who ID'd us at the door, to the bartender, to the band. The door guy was funny, showing us all the cool holograms that make up our ID's to ensure it isn't fake. And the bartender was friendly and down to earth, as well as super patient. Make sure you ask about their specials, because we really enjoyed the 4 drinks we ordered, which came to a whopping $15 bar tab (Bacardi mixed cocktails).
The band was great, with more than just your standard guitar and drums, they had brass instruments, as well. They started out strong with some Incubus, and then some more little known things and then the cocktails hit and I was dancing to whatever.
The bar sits across the street from the fort, and offers a great view during the day. It was quite chilly the night we visited, but the ample space heaters kept us warm on the outdoor patio. It looked like the only indoor seating option was the bar, so most patrons hang outside. The bathrooms were clean and easy to find. There's also a liquor store right next door.
Will definitely visit again on our next trip!
What a great little bar in a Johnny Depp Themed town.
Passing through the tourist town on a golf trip, we found this place walking through the old port city(Supposedly the oldest settlement in North America). While everything else seems to be closed other than some ghost tours, Monday night football was on and this place was open. And everyone dressed like they could have worked on the Black Pearl.
Few hours later, huge bar tab, game ended long ago(Who was playing again?). Lost in the streets, few more hours on feet to find our hotel(Which was only 2 block away). Hey that's what happens when you decide to follow a bunch of Scottish/English with GPS's.
Great little place, super friendly, but not so good at giving patrons in a fog advice on how to get home/hotel. Ok we didnt ask, but hey, we got GPS's right?
Tip of the day:  GPS's dont last more than 45 minutes or so when not plugged in, and unless the pirate captain is with you, navigation by stars is rougher than the bering straits  .
My wife and I spent our one year anniversary here w/o the kids. Â We sat outside on the covered patio overlooking the fort and the Mantanzas River. Â A great place to sit, have some beers and watch the traffic. Â From what I understand, it is one of the cheaper places to get a beer @ $2.50.
Review Source:Fun, Loud and Packed.
Outdoor patio is so nice to grab a drink at night especially since many places shut down somewhat early around here. We spotted this place while we were riding back from a Ghost Tour. It's directly across from the fort which is a very nice backdrop to the evening. Yes, it's very "bro" like but hey, just grab a drink and head outside.
Live music inside. JP was a fabulous bartender... fabulous as in laid back and funny... not as in getting our drink orders right or remembering what we ordered previously, ha!
I can see why locals hang out here. Given its location in the heart of many tourist attractions, this could easily be a kitschy and overpriced tourist trap, but it's not at all. Drinks are inexpensive and it's laid back. The patio offers an excellent view for counting tourists that waddle past the Castillo de San Marcos. We didn't eat here, but what came out of the kitchen looked like standard bar fare. Really nice oasis.
Review Source:Pretty sure it is actually called No Name Bar & Grill. But either way, this may be one of the best places ever! We happened upon it when other places where closed on Thanksgiving and what luck! CHEAPEST prices I have maybe ever seen (coming from Orlando prices is part of it but they were cheaper than other St. Aug places as well) Great service. Fun fun fun crowd! By the time we left we'd had fun conversations with almost everyone on the patio, customer and staff alike. The live music was great and did I mention that our patio table was a direct, completely un-obstructed, view of the Castillo De San Marcos fort and the bay? Beautiful. We didn't eat anything other than some free french fries at the end of the night that were super tasty but I like to think their food is just as good as everything else. I should note as well that they are attached to a full liquor store for your late night retail liquor needs!
Review Source:Just left the bar. Awesome place. Fun. Saturday they have a singer and guitar for entertainment. $9 for a pitcher of bud light draft.. I think it could be maybe like a $1 or $2 cheaper. But fun entertainment with a nice staff. Food is mediocre bar food. But it isn't crap. That is always a plus. Great for a nice view, and even good for kids that can sit still and are well behaved. I took my little 2 year old brother here and he clapped and had fun in his carriage listening to music. He had some limes' because he loves the tangy taste' lol. I am so happy to have discovered this place. Definitely going to make this a weekend noonish routine!
Review Source:Went there for couple of beers and a burger, asked for bacon and cheese, only got cheese, no fries, threw the basket of food at me, asked for money as soon as food was thrown, gave two bucks on a nine dollar bill and heard a comment from superman that" this must be for  you" given the terrible service two bucks doesn't seem like a bad tip on a nine dollar bill..... It's too bad, I've been there before and have gone back even after they've tried to run my card twice, prompting my bank to call me and ask about charges....gonna miss the ring game.... Oh well.....
Review Source:Awesome bar, great service, fun atmosphere, cold drinks, all in one location- The Bar with No Name.
Located in downtown St. Augustine, it's easy to get to, and if you're lucky enough to find a parking spot, within walking distance of a lot of other bars / restaurants. Great view of the Castillo across the street, and a great place to have a beer and tourist watch.
Normally I only drink at bars, and I tend to stay away from places populated by college students. I like to sit in a chair, have a conversation or watch some sports on TV, drink my beer, relax, and enjoy myself. I do not like to watch douche-wagons dressed in Ed Hardy hitting (and failing) on every woman in the place, being loud and obnoxious, and having to subject myself to shitty cover bands playing generic ska and alt rock. (See Scarlett O'Hara's)
The few times I've been to this place, the majority of folks inside were from Flagler College, with a few other people thrown in the mix. The atmosphere is very different than other bars, though- unbelievably laid back and chill. The bands here play a nice mix of hip-hop, reggae, ska, and rock- they sound good, and aren't deafening loud. Plenty of seats in the patio offer up great views, and the bar area itself is wide open, although I'm glad to see the majority of people don't crowd around the bar, making it very easy to get in, get your drinks, and get out. There are a few barstools available, but the majority of people tend to hang out outside in the St. Augustine night. Bathrooms are relatively clean and easily accessible, although I've been held up more than once while a couple used the bathroom for, uh, "private moments".
The drinks are surprisingly cheap, and the mixed drinks are strong. Bartenders are cool, they take care of you, and make sure everyone is taken care of.
I didn't think that this would be my type of drinking establishment, but I was sure as hell surprised by how much fun it is. Judging by the other reviews, a lot of other people are thinking the same thing. Highly recommended for anyone looking to stop in and have a good time during a hot, thick St. Augustine night. Cheap drinks, great service, awesome view, and a friendly crowd, a great time for anyone over the age of 21.
My husband and I chose to do a restaurant and bar hop yesterday to enjoy the weather! Â This was our first stop for drinks and we were pleasantly surprised with the selection and pricing for the historic district! Â We chose to sit outside on the porch and enjoy the beautiful weather with exceptional scenery. We moved on after a couple of drinks, but can't wait to return for the live music, great drink prices, and try out their menu. It was small, but the food looked fresh and tasty!
Review Source:Stopped in for a quick beer and ended up having a mojito too. Â Fresh mint, who can argue with that? Â Gabby was the innkeeper and the owner was there too. Â Great vibe. Â Wish they had a little bit more of a draft beer selection but its a small joint so I can see where tap space is limited.
Didn't eat any food but the menu looked pleasant. Â Great location. Â Parking? Â Yep it's a problem. Â Try the lot across the street during the day but not at night. Â They look it up at 530P. Â Seems silly I know but that's they way they want it downtown I guess.
The Bar with No Name is also the Bar with no Cover, so of course I'm a fan, being a poor college student living downtown.
This place is fantastic. The last handful of times I've been there, there's been a guy in the corner playing a reggae version of Beyonce's Bootylicious and the Fresh Prince of Bel Air on electric guitar, and there is nothing wrong with that, let me tell you. The atmosphere is superb, with a fabulous view of the old fort and the bay from mostly outdoor seating. There are umbrellas in the summer and heaters in the winter, being outside in Florida isn't for the weak, but No Name makes it totally bearable.
The drinks are good and cheap, and if you make friends with the bartenders (who are fun and friendly) they go from decent to totally worth it fairly quickly. The place is frequented by locals of the cleaner sort than you might find at the Tavern and it's a favorite of Flagler students.
I've never had the food, but it's remarkably clean for someplace that's fairly open to the elements on a regular basis, so I'm inclined to trust the kitchen.
The music is great, the people are fun, the drinks are cheap. There's not a lot more you can ask for in a bar, especially in the pricey drinking district of downtown St. Aug.
The only cons that come to mind are no parking whatsoever (but it's downtown, is that anything new?) and not a ton of seating (but it's downtown, is that anything new?)
No Name Bar has cheap drinks, amazing atmosphere, great music, a liquor store in-house for afterparties, awesome staff... overall it's probably my favorite bar in town. Â Easy walking distance to late-night eats--but they have their own kitchen with some tasty tasty cheap bar food--hotels, downtown living, the bridge, anything you could possibly want.
