There are all kinds of bars. Â Sports bars, wine bars, cowboy bars, beer halls, fern bars, and dive bars. Â The Giggling Gator falls mostly into the last category, and that's not a bad thing.
I've been stopping here for the past 15 years, and the patrons are a mix of locals, fishermen and shrimpers, college students, ne'er-do-wells, and misguided tourists, but... it works. Â There are an assortment of TVs, usually providing some form of sports entertainment, and a couple of pool tables, and 3 or 4 dart lanes. Â A few tables. Â The bar. Â And the crowd.
If you like people watching, it's hard to go wrong here. Â Full bar, a block from the post office on King street, about 12 feet from where "touristy" meets "sketchy." Â Say hi to your hosts Fred, Heather, and Tony -- they're as friendly as you are.
For the budget conscious: Â Drinkin' with Lincoln, $5 All You Care To Drink Miller Lite, 9p-11p on... Tuesdays? Â
They've recently opened the outside deck. Â The weather is gettin' better...
