This place used to be Jillian's. The bartender mentioned it changed over about a month and a half ago. Arrived there for dinner at about 5:15 pm prior to attending the NH Fisher Cats game on Saturday 6/29/13. Very limited menu. The only good thing I can say is that the bartender was attentive, My wife wanted a small salad  and a bowl of seafood chowder. They were all out of chowder. So she settled on the fish and chips. She wanted to substitute the fries for something else, but there were no other options. The fish was nothing to write home about. She was supposed to get coleslaw with her meal, and they ran out of that also. How can a restaurant be out of two items on a menu at dinner time on a Saturday night???? I got the steak tips and fries, My meal came with a plate full of fries, and only 5 steak tips. For $17.99, one would expect a lot more steak tips on the plate. Needless to say, we will not be returning this this establishment for food.
Review Source:Took my family to the new World Sports Grille and we all  had a nice dinner. Bri, our server was very friendly and engaging too.  Very prompt service with a smile.  The entire staff was very nice.  Clean restaurant with clean rest rooms too.  This place is located in the mill which used to house Jillian's in Manchester.  WSG is far better, the food and service is much better than Jillian's.  This would be a great spot for dinner before a Monarchs or Fisher cat game, or after work get together. Shoot pool or watch the game, while waiting for your dinner or lunch.  Hope they keep it up, as I will surely go back.  Will be a great place to see the Bruins win the Cup or to watch the Patriots this season.
Review Source:We had been to Jillian's before so we decided to try the new version. It seemed like the same old, same old to me. Although the menu has changed, the quality of food really has not. We ordered a calamari appetizer. The calamari was rubbery, something I hate. Also, it was covered in a cornmeal batter so thick, it was like eating a hush puppy. And finally, the whole thing was doused in General GAO sauce. No marinara and quite an odd flavor.
For an entree, I had the mushroom pizza. It tasted exactly like Papa Gino's pizza with sauce that was obviously from a can and pre-made dough. I thought they were trying to improve the menu? It was the same less than average food found at Jillian's.
Finally, service was amazingly slow. It took over 2 hours to get 2 rounds of drinks, an app and 2 entrees. Our waitress disappeared for long periods of time, once with our debit card in her hand. It was not that busy at 8 pm on a Friday night and I couldn't see the reason for the slow service.
Although I would love to say I wouldn't go back, I met my fiancé there, so there is some sentiment. Needless to say, I won't be eating here if I return.
We tried World Sports Grille on a recent Friday night. I had never been inside when it was Jillians, so I can't really speak to the difference of the interior/food, but walking into WSG we noticed it was clean and there were tons of TVs.
We took two of the last seats at the bar and the bartender came over right away and took our order. I was pretty happy to see Curious Traveler on draft, so I had one of those and then we ordered the chicken satay appetizer. The chicken was tender and the yogurt sauce and peanut sauce both had a lot of flavor. I'd definitely order these again - and at $9 that's not bad at all. I do wish they had nachos on the menu though. For my entree, I ordered the ahi tuna burger, cooked medium, with sweet potato fries and my boyfriend ordered from the build-your-own-burger menu.
Entrees took a bit longer, but nothing we couldn't deal with while watching a game and having our drinks. The bartender was really attentive and said our food would be out soon. When it did, the sweet potato fries were cooked perfectly and delicious. My ahi tuna burger could have used more sauce and a little more flavor, but it was still good. My boyfriend said his burger was cooked just right and was really good.
For beers, appetizer, and entrees, I think it came to $57. Not bad, and I'd definitely like to go back and try a pizza. I saw a few come out from the kitchen and they looked good. Will have to try the deck outside next time, hopefully it won't be raining.
Pretty disappointed all around with this place. Â
The Short Version:
Jillian's changed their name, re-felted their pool tables, got a very limited supply of craft beer bottles (and over-priced it), and kept the same poor level of service. Â The menu changed, but the quality of food offered is still bad.
The Long Version:
They recently re-branded and talked about their focus on craft beer. Â Most draft lines are BMC beers. Â Their craft selection is all bottles and it wasn't all that great.
We arrived at 7:00 PM on Friday for the Bruins vs. Pens game. Â Four staff members were just inside the door and we weren't really greeted. Â I eventually asked if we were to seat ourselves, and then one of them asked "are you expecting anyone else?" to which we answered that 2 more people would be joining us. Â
She then took us to the seating area. Â Tiny tables for two dominate the area best suited for viewing the big screen televisions. Â Larger tables (you know, for groups of people coming to catch a big game together) are farther away and can see the tiny televisions behind the bar. Â They ended up finagling a seating arrangement for our party of six near the big screens, but we had to move the tables extremely close to the screens due to a poorly placed floor AC vent. Â It was kind of like being front row at a movie theater. Â I should also mention, while the two tiny televisions behind the bar are probably HD, I know that the larger televisions are definitely not.
We received our menus and the craft beer menu, which is presented sort of like a wine list and it includes descriptions of each beer offered and the BeerAdvocate rating. Â I found this to be helpful, but they were out of the first few beers we attempted to order. Â The server seemed to know little about craft beer and provided so-so replacement suggestions. Â The list is not extensive and doesn't hold a candle to the Murphy's or Strangebrew Tavern draft lists. Â Anyway, I settled on Dogfish Burton Baton. Â When she brought the bottles to the table, we had to ask for pint glasses.
Then came our time to order and they were out of potato skins. Â On a Friday night at 7:00 PM. Â They were out of several other items as well. Â
I decided to build a burger. Â I'm always extremely adamant that I do not want a pickle touching, in, or even near anything I order. Â The server mentioned that her sister is the same way. Â Anyway, it came with pickles. Â She took it back to the kitchen, they removed the pickles, and provided a new bun. Â This worked well enough. Â Then, I noticed mustard or some other type of yellow sauce that I did not order on my burger. Â I asked the server what it was, and it seemed like she didn't know and she offered to remove the burger from my bill. Â I feel like if I build a burger, if I don't specifically ask for it, it shouldn't be on the burger. Â In addition to these issues, my friends noticed their burgers fell apart rather quickly in their hands.
So, after that fiasco and switching to Harpoon IPA because I didn't want to find out what other bottles they were out of, my wife and I decided to order a pizza during second intermission. Â The server told us that it will likely take the kitchen an hour. Â So, I can order a pizza and have it made somewhere else and driven to their establishment faster than they can make one. Â We didn't bother ordering the pizza.
Service during the night was generally slow. Â They weren't as busy as they could be due to poor utilization of the space. Â I watched several groups come in, see the silly seating arrangements, and leave when they realized there was no good view of the game. Â At a sports bar.
We received our bills. Â Burton Baton by Dogfish Head - 9 dollars per bottle. Â Over-priced to say the least. Â I had Founders KBS on draft at the Strangebrew for 10 dollars, and that was from one of three kegs that made it to NH (because it's limited release). Â So, they're charging 1 dollar less than that for a bottle of Dogfish Head, something that is readily available almost anywhere. Â They're a great brewery, it's a decent beer, but 9 dollars for one bottle and I have to ask for a pint glass?
Save your money and the frustration. Â Don't go here. Â Hit up Strangebrew for a quality draft list with better prices and decent pub fair. Â If you want something more upscale, River Road Tavern has a great burger (and everything else, really) and an extensive draft/bottle list (which, while expensive I don't know that you'll find 9 dollar beers on there unless there's a good reason for it), and a great staff that knows craft beer and can provide suggestions based on your preferences. Â Also, you won't have to ask for the pint glass. Â They just know.
