I've never eaten at the restaurant, only from the food cart they operate.  The people are friendly and the food is delicious and I wouldn't hesitate to send someone here as a recommendation.

Delicious food at a reasonable price. Their food reminds us of the plate lunches you get in Hawaii, especially the Kalua Pork. They also have good Korean dishes and the soup special or the bulgogi burger are my husband's favorites.

Just wish they were open on Saturday and Sunday cause I don't like to cook on the weekend!

Thought this place was still called Thaiwaiian and was shocked to see a name change when my group showed up. Anyway, still the same food plus Korean.

They accommodated my group. I made a reservation for 10 and 7 showed, they seemed ok with that. We all paid individually, also ok as I asked ahead of time - this is great for a group, we really appreciate it.

The food is pretty good. Definitely Hawaiian beach fare style. Lots of rice and meat, a little vegetables. I ordered the Koren chicken platter, which to me is more of a traditional Hawaiian chicken - which is what I was hoping for and loved.

The price is right for what you get. Yum! I'll be back.

Here's another 5-star review. Small, friendly, cooked to order, fresh, and really, really good. Not much else to say. No complaints, and have gone back many times. Always as good as the last visit.

My boyfriend had been obsessing about this place all weekend so we finally decided to do dinner on Monday. The food was so delicious looking and smelling that I didn't even have time to take a photo before I started devouring it! I got the kalua pork sandwich with fries. The bun got a little soggy with all of the delicious juices from the pork. If you aren't into that kind of thing they have the kalua pork as a plate lunch, too! We will be visiting again.

Hidden, tiny spot... Not many good places in Monterey for decent Asian cooking, but this was delicious. After I ate there wanted to go back the next day.

I  used  to  go  here  when  it  was  Thaiwaiian  &  the  level  of  food  is  just  as  ono  as  it  was  then.  The  Bul Ko  Gi  was  excellent  enuff  that  I  got  two  orders  (  1  to  go )  &  my  friend  had  the  Kalua  pork  with  cabbage  & said  it  was  excellent.  I'll  be  going  there  a  lot  now  :)

Korean,Thai, Hawaiian. So many choices. I really like this place. The food was fresh and tasty. I've tried the Kim-chee stew, loco moco, pad Thai,Penang curry. Every dish was so good. Only problem there closed on weekends. Check this place out!

Perfect fresh homemade tasting food, the best in town. Great menu, clean, desserts are great and very friendly staff. Closed on weekends but it is so worth it to drive during weekdays to this restaurant.

Clean, casual, cozy family restaurant.  Pumpkin coconut soup was first-rate.  The banana dessert is enough for four.  We'll be back.

I have gone here based on newspaper article that was written about Yi's (<a href="/redir?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.montereyherald.com%2Frestaurants%2Fci_22434068%2Fyis-korean-bbq-is-hidden-gem-pacific-grove&s=209aceb44bce7ab3fe5bc1d69396eecf36d4b9c8d62bfb4b3e89a67b2c077867" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://www.montereyheral…</a>). I decided to try out this place and get their famous pumpkin coconut soup. Mind I tell you that I am not a big fan of coconut, but let me tell you their famous pumpkin coconut soup was delicious! It was a perfect balance between the sweetness and the hotness. Their appetizer combo platter was fried perfectly, and the ahi poke is really good! I would definitely recommend this place!

This restaurant is formerly known as the Thaiwaiian.  It sold-- I don't know when!  Anyway, the menu is the same. I had the Boolkogi Burger, which is a special. Great flavors.  The only problem with this location is the poor ventilation.  It smells like deep fried food.  Friendly service.

Looking for Hawaiian food, Korean food, Japnese food, Thai food??? This is the place, just like home, they still serve all the good dishes from Thaiwaian Bistro days and added more dishes including Korean food. Wanted to score 4.5 stars but I rouned up, cook will make food however you like it, like the poki salad I ask for low salt because of my diet. Great friendly staff, they deliver to DLI as well, there hours are changing but for now open only on weekdays for lunch and dinner. I like the coconut shrimp, loco moco and bulgogi burger. Oh by the way, the new owner is the family that serves up that delicious korean BBQ all over town, CHONGS KOREAN BBQ HOUSE. You know that place that used to be downtown Monterey Farmers market and used to be next to the PX in Ft Ord before moving to this location. They are tucked back in the parking lot between Safeway and Trader Joes on Forest Ave in PG. Mahalo & Aloha!!!
