Ziggies Cafe

I hadn't been to Ziggies in a while... Now I remember why... The food is bland and boring. The wait staff seemed like it didn't want to be there at all.

Ziggies advertises itself to specialize in breakfast.  Too bad because they do not serve good breakfast.  I prefer Cracker Barrell for a good hearty breakfast. so now you know my standards for Breakfast.  
NOW, Ziggies does have a strawberry bistro salad that is absolutely yummy AND they have a beer battered fish that is also good.  Fried chicken is a good choice but be prepared to wait for it while they fry it up.  
Atmosphere is okay.  We have repeatedly complained about the TV shows they show.  Usually it is C-Span but there have been times they have had the Simpsons on.  Once there was a news report on someone being nearly beat to death.  THis is not something I want my 4 year old to watch and I do not prefer these shows, especially while I am trying to enjoy my dinner.
If you want the best waitress, ask for Carmen.  She will take good care of you.

Ziggies is OK. It's probably the best of the all night diner choices in Springfield. Of course, that's not saying much.
Service isn't bad and the food is decent.
Don't go there expecting an earth shattering dining experience.
Some of the Mediterranean dishes are OK (Ziggie himself being Greek).
To be safe stick with breakfast foods and sandwiches.
Get an order of Texas fries.
The deserts are all delicious.
