If you're looking for authentic Korean food, this is probably not the best place for you. They do have Kim Chi on the menu, but not much beyond that.
If you're looking for good flavorful food for a good price, then congratulations you've found your new home.
I have the Korean Chicken and the Sesame Chicken. Both are great. Be sure and get an order of Mandu and dip them in the sweet sauce they provide.
They have a picture menu next to the cash register in a little flip book.
My wife is a vegetarian and after asking we found out that they have 3 or 4 veg friendly options.
If you pay an extra $.50 they'll add peanuts to anything or make your food so hot that your eyes will water and your nose will run.
I cannot tell you how many times I've driven or walked past this place in all my years of Springfielding. I don't know what kept me from it exactly, but I'm glad I broke into that invisible forcefield. It is indeed a tiny place that feels like it could collapse any minute. It reminds me a lot of all the little diners in small towns that everyone has ever been to: diner chairs & tables, soda-sponsored menu boards, styrofoam cups, etc. The menu has some very difficult things to pronounce and it makes me self-concious when I try to do it, but the ladies working there are dolls and let it slide. However, I'm totally in agreement with Susan D that once you look closely at the menu or the little flip-picture book its really just the same food that you can get everywhere else. There are some little changes though, like different sauces, more noodle dishes and more vegetables.
I really, really like the dumpling soup. Those little dumplings are so silky and delicious! The broth is pretty good too, although there is too much cheap pepper for my taste. The second it gets cold (if it ever does again) I'm gonna be there on a possibly daily basis getting my little dumpling soup fix. Its like $1.75 for three dumplings. I cannot think of a better thing to buy for under $2. I also find the beef cache very pleasing. It has a nice combination of rice, noodles, vegetables, and some sauce that isn't corn-syrupy. Delicious. The only thing I didn't care for was one of the fried appetizers-the name currently escapes me. They are the ones that look like little moons. I didn't care for the particular stuffing of them. I shall get the spring rolls instead, which aren't the greatest in town-Thai Peppers has that shit on lock down-but they will handle your fix I believe.
I really want something new and exciting to come out of this place, per Susan D's discussion. That would be excellent to have it so close to downtown and not so close to Sunshine St. BUT this is a good place to break your Chinese-rut, which I am deep into. So deep.
