If you're looking for authentic Korean food, this is probably not the best place for you. They do have Kim Chi on the menu, but not much beyond that.
If you're looking for good flavorful food for a good price, then congratulations you've found your new home.
I have the Korean Chicken and the Sesame Chicken. Both are great. Be sure and get an order of Mandu and dip them in the sweet sauce they provide.
They have a picture menu next to the cash register in a little flip book.
My wife is a vegetarian and after asking we found out that they have 3 or 4 veg friendly options.
If you pay an extra $.50 they'll add peanuts to anything or make your food so hot that your eyes will water and your nose will run.

I cannot tell you how many times I've driven or walked past this place in all my years of Springfielding. I don't know what kept me from it exactly, but I'm glad I broke into that invisible forcefield. It is indeed a tiny place that feels like it could collapse any minute. It reminds me a lot of all the little diners in small towns that everyone has ever been to: diner chairs & tables, soda-sponsored menu boards, styrofoam cups, etc. The menu has some very difficult things to pronounce and it makes me self-concious when I try to do it, but the ladies working there are dolls and let it slide. However, I'm totally in agreement with Susan D that once you look closely at the menu or the little flip-picture book its really just the same food that you can get everywhere else. There are some little changes though, like different sauces, more noodle dishes and more vegetables.

I really, really like the dumpling soup. Those little dumplings are so silky and delicious! The broth is pretty good too, although there is too much cheap pepper for my taste. The second it gets cold (if it ever does again) I'm gonna be there on a possibly daily basis getting my little dumpling soup fix. Its like $1.75 for three dumplings. I cannot think of a better thing to buy for under $2. I also find the beef cache very pleasing. It has a nice combination of rice, noodles, vegetables, and some sauce that isn't corn-syrupy. Delicious. The only thing I didn't care for was one of the fried appetizers-the name currently escapes me. They are the ones that look like little moons. I didn't care for the particular stuffing of them. I shall get the spring rolls instead, which aren't the greatest in town-Thai Peppers has that shit on lock down-but they will handle your fix I believe.

I really want something new and exciting to come out of this place, per Susan D's discussion. That would be excellent to have it so close to downtown and not so close to Sunshine St. BUT this is a good place to break your Chinese-rut, which I am deep into. So deep.

I have been here many times but since I no longer live in Springfield, it has been a while.  It was absolutely one of my favorite places to eat in Springfield.  Any of the spicy entrees are fantastic.  Their all white breast meat chicken is delicious in any of the dishes.  The people who run the place are extremely nice as well.

The hidden gem of Springfield. I have been eating here for over 20 years. The chicken gui is my fave. Downtown close to the Springfield Cardinals as well as all of the great things downtown has to offer.

Pretty standard quick Springfield Asian food. Nothing special about the food or service, except the hottie who worked there.

I have some good experience with authentic Asian dining after living in Okinawa for four years.  I traveled to Korea and Japan and got the real deal.  I think Susan D has laid it out well, but maybe I'm more easily satisfied, but I have really enjoyed the four lunches I have had at the Korea House.

I am a creature of habit and have had the Sesame Chicken extra spicy each time there and the portion and yumminess of the dish has left me feeling all warm and fuzzy inside each time.  The service has been fast and friendly every single time and it is an excellent choice as a lunch destination.

It is located in a beautiful location of Springfield where you can see the brick architecture all around through the giant windows, including Walgreen's and  Hammond's Field.  I know, it is only Walgreen's, but brick looks really nice, classy.  Only a few blocks over you enter the Historic Springfield neighborhoods on Walnut...I love it.

    Go there!

Finally made it back to good ole' Springfield to visit my folks and though I love Missouri, I seriously miss culture and diversity when I'm here.  Food is the biggest part of that so today, I stopped by Korea House on St.Louis to get a fix of some Bulgogi. I live in Cali now and though I'm a farm girl from Missouri, I probably have a diet of over 50% Asian food (Japanese, Vietnamese, Korean, Chinese, etc).

I have to say, I was not happy with the selection of Korean food or the actual food.  :(  It's like it was a typical Chinese take-out more than a Korean joint.  I really wanted it to be good but it was just average food with Korean names.

The bulgogi did not have the marinade that makes it uniquely Korean, it just tasted like regular beef.  I'm not sure why the restaurant wouldn't make bulgogi the proper way because every friend from every race that I've ever taken to try Bulgogi has LOVED it!  Maybe the marinade is expensive to make or something.  *shrug*

The chicken dish was not very good either though the chap chae noodles were ok, I guess.

I'm giving Korea House 3 stars cause it was clean and the lady was very nice, even got me a refill when she noticed my glass was almost empty.

End result, the food was probably somewhat healthy and average but it was not Korean food.  With a name like Korea House, I have to be disappointed.
