1400 Bar & Grill

I live within walking distance and 1400 has turned into my bar to go.. Great service, a great cocktail menu (for the wife), and a rotating tap for beers on draft... way better scene than the bar across the street, I mean i want to enjoy a beer with my wife and make some friends, not try to fight every guy that makes her feel uncomfortable..

Bar: If you're looking for a neighborhood bar to watch the game and shoot the breeze with a cold pint of your favorite brew, this is it. Haven't tried any of their cocktails, but the other reviews seem to cover that quite well. Cool casual setting that's reminiscent of "Cheers." It's not only the décor, it's the people. There seems to be a steady flow of faithful regulars.

Food: I can't make my mind up about the food. I had the spaghetti w/ meatballs (yeah, go ahead and make fun) and tried the Dutch fries . It was aite. Apparently, I didn't check the reviews bc it seems the Pablano burger is the bomb.

Service: Very friendly servers, but the bartender (the gent looking like a SOA character) didn't really seem to acknowledge us as were walking in, so we kinda hesitated and sat ourselves down.

This place was very crowded on a recent Friday evening when a friend and I dined here. We would have liked to dine on the patio but all the tables were full so we dined inside where it was very warm and stuffy even though to doors were open. Perhaps a fan or two inside would help? Drinks were standard-nothing special but just fine. I had the fish and chips which was good although the potato wedges were a tad too large for me to enjoy them much. Each wedge was about 1/3 of a potato, and I would order fries as a replacement next time. Notable was the delicious tarter sauce. My friend had the lamb burger which came with feta cheese and shoestring potatoes. The bite she shared with me was delicious and I appreciated the quality of the bun. There were nightly specials for each day of the week. Some of them seemed worth trying. Even though I love dessert, nothing on the menu seemed worthy of the extra calories.
