American Oak

Probably the best restaurant in Alameda.  I'm so glad they reopened after having a fire a few months back.  They have incredible cocktails (Whiskey Fizz with a whipped egg? OK) and awesome food.  One of the best burgers I've had in ages.  Add to that a great atmosphere and the longest whiskey list I've ever seen, and I'll be going back here as often as possible.  Unfortunately, it's a wee bit pricier than average restaurant prices, but worth every bit of it.

Had a great dinner at American Oak tonight. We had the hamburger with fries (my son gave it the double thumbs up), the Pork and Beans (spice rubbed ribs over baked white beans and frisee with dressing), and salmon over yukon mashed potatoes with basil aioli green beans and grilled peaches. Every dish was fantastic. The atmosphere was great and the service even better. We couldn't stay for dessert, but there was ice cream on the menu (including a custom bourbon with crunchy toffee flavor) with some really great topping choices (including sea salt & olive oil, bourbon, etc.).

We'd definitely come here again.

I'm so happy this is open again. even though they don't serve pizza anymore, their food is still really good, and well this IS a whiskey bar, the whiskey selection is AMAZING... one of the best I've ever had..
