Alameda Wine Co

Good wine selection and the cheese selection is very good.  The trout spread is also nice.

The owner has her quirks, but I'm not there to talk to her.
All in all, I go for the wine selection, which is consistently good.  Though she does change it up a little too often, but hey variety is the spice of life.

I like this place.  Yes, Karen is a trip - but the wine selection is decent and the prices are almost a bargain compared to SF's wine prices.  The corkage fee is somewhat confusing, so I bypass that by going on days that advertise no corkage fee.  Karen and her staff have always been very accommodating.  I am not a wine connoisseur(sp?), and I certainly cannot pair worth a darn - but they have always been very helpful.

The owner was an obnoxious, rude, drunk mess. It was so bd it was almost funny. Something tells me this woman owning a wine bar is like putting an elephant  in charge of the peanuts.
