over-priced, watered down mixed drinks/cocktails.

8.50/person/game
service & atmosphere is good, but not worth the price

Oh, expensive bowling, you are not my favorite. Let's be honest...bowling is bowling, no matter how much you try to class it up.

Here's my assessments of the pro/con breakdown of 300 :

Pros
- It's nice to walk up to one counter to get a ball and shoes and not have to wander around sticking your hands in a hundred balls.
- It's convenient to press a button and have a server come up and take your food and drink order instead of walking to a counter.
- The ambiance is more upscale than your typical bowling alley.
- They usually have lanes open during weeknights, since unlike regular bowling alleys, they don't seem to have leagues.

Cons
- Pricey for bowling, about 50% more expensive than a "regular" bowling alley for individual games.
- Food & drink service times are pretty slow. As in, order two drinks at once. And if you're thinking of having dessert, order it in frame 1 of your last game so you actually get it before you're ready to leave
- Food & drink are pretty expensive considering the quality.
- The seating areas at the lanes didn't seem conducive to hanging out and talking if you have more than 3 people in your group.

Bottom line...If you're willing to pay a premium for the scene and tip for slow service on meh food, this is the place for you. I'll likely be headed elsewhere for my bowling needs in the future, though.

I was at 300 for a private event and had a great time. I'm quite surprised to read they have a 2 1/2 star average at the time I'm writing this review. The staff treated us like rock stars! The food was great, the service was super friendly and prompt, and the cosmic bowling was fun. There was a private bathroom available for us, they took our drink orders and brought them right to us (we didn't have to go to the bar), and put the football game we wanted on the big screens. I seriously couldn't ask for anything more. The people working there seemed to genuinely enjoy their jobs.

I was especially impressed by the food. I was expecting your typical "bar food" type stuff but it was well beyond that. We picked the Italian pasta catering package and it was ample and delicious. Lots of options to choose from (salads, pastas, chicken, etc).

In closing, I don't know anything about bowling in the main area, but I would absolutely recommend them for a private event.

Expect bougie rude waiters and if u give the bartender a 20 for a simple beer expect to get 8 dollars in change ....over hype, over priced, over bougie and overly rude people! If you get the broke amber rose looking waiter, expect to get taxed x 2 for no dame reason!

We rented this place out for a private event. The back room has a door that can be closed to the outside, 7 lanes that can accommodate up to 42 bowlers and seating to accommodate up to 50 (assuming your bowlers spend a reasonable amount of time standing and milling about).

We got the Italian/pasta catering. I wouldn't be upset to get this meal out or at home, but it far exceeded my expectations for food at a bowling alley. My expectations for bowling alley food are at the level of bar food, but if bars served children: chicken fingers and frozen pizza. The long bar for the whole joint has a stub that extends into the room, providing full bar service.

Not that we had to walk up to the bar to get drinks. We had two folks attending us and they took drink orders and brought them out. They were able to put the football game up on the big screens at the end of the bowling lanes, and the private bathroom was also a really nice touch. The price is reasonable for events of this size, and I would recommend that you check it out for your next hootenanny.

I recently went here with a friend for her birthday, the interior was pretty cool. I liked the whole look of the place. We had to wait about 30-45 mins for a lane, but it was a friday night, so we were not surprised. We sat at the bar and ordered food and drinks until our lane was available. By the time we got a lane, we still had not received food. Pretty much an hour had gone by while we waited patiently for the meal, went to check on it and promptly received it. Guess it was ready, but no one was going to bring it out. That was kind of irritating, but the food was good. Seemed to be more expensive that I am used to for bowling, the check was way more that we expected! Still had a good time, but overall it's just like any other bowling alley. Just trying to have a fancy look.

I was just dying to bowl again, so I came back to 300 Atlanta. Of course, no one was at the front desk to greet us and no one apologized for making us wait for way too long. However, Justin is AMAZING. Thank God he was our server. He makes this place worth visiting. He pretty much ran the entire bowling alley. Had it not been for him, I would not go back to this bowling alley again. 2 people x 2 games and one glass of tea totaled $47! Ridiculously expensive.

I was here as part of Lebowski Fest last weekend. (Obviously, you're not a golfer.) The bowling alley was classier than I expected and the staff was very helpful and welcoming. Lots of drink selection but they are on the pricy side. (Another Caucasian, Gary)

The highlight was the pizza. I think bowling alley food tends to be a joke. Are you going to have the 3 day old hot dog...or the 5 day old hot dog? This pizza was amazing, among the best pizza I've had in all of Atlanta. I think it is extremely weird to say that...but it's true.

I am a fan of this bowling alley, it's only 1 mile away, know what to expect...
1. Very attractive interior
2. Some of the best Long Island's in huge fishbowl glasses
3. Surprisingly awesome bar food, including some DAMN good ribs
4. High prices to bowl/shoes
5. Classy VIP room, perfect for private gatherings

I usually roll up here for food and drinks because I am not a bowler:(
If you have some extra cash flow, why not give it a go?

300 is a place to "stunt" and NOT bowl on the weekend! During the week is cool, but weekends are NOT for bowling unless you get there before 10pm!! The place is nice but over priced! The drinks and food are straight and they even have a VIP room! I'd go for the VIP room but it's very expensive! If you go on the weekend, don't plan on bowling, count on standing around and people watching...cuz It'll be tooo packed! Now! Ladies...the ones with low self esteem and need to be showered with compliments to feel good...this place is for you! LOL! Dudes be "thirsty" in there! Trust me, I know...I used to be like that back in the day! LOL!

Bowled late Monday evening, not too many lanes open. There was a rather large party towards the end. I was set-up on the lane with no problem but a waitress didn't come for 1.5 hours to take a drink order that I had already placed with the bartender myself. It's a really cool looking place & the pricing isn't bad if you go on special night but the service is definitely sub-par!

Great staff and good service! Friendly place ...

I am a fan now! I went with a group from work on a Friday night about 8:30 pm and the place was busy but not over crowded. The drinks are mixed with a nice serving of the sauces so you will be pleased with them and they range from $7 to $15 from a simple draft beer to a large gulp type drink all served in a nice glass. The staff will take your order at the bowling lane and bring it to you. Children are welcomed here and from what I saw they were having fun also. Go give it a try and see ... Have fun!

I went on a Tuesday using a groupon. It was smooth and a corporate event was going on. I read the other reviews and have not seen the weekends so I cannot say.
Nice full bar, good waitress and Garo the Manager was very kind. No problems here and will definately return.
Garoi said during Nov Dec Jan there are several private events where the entire place is rented out, so you may want to call ahead to see if they are closed due to a private event.

I went on a Tues (definitely want to avoid the weekends....) because I figured this would be a low key night to go. Wrong. As soon as I drove up I saw that there was two tour buses so I threw that thought out the window. It was still crowded and the only lane that was available for us was the lane that was broken. We were told that we could use it that night or come on another night.

But then we were told by the manager that we could use the lane and if it messed up we would get 4 passes to come back on another night. So we used the jacked up lane...and the lane was indeed jacked up so we played a little, took the passes and left. It was really nice of the manager to offer that, and I will be back.

This is a very pretty bowling alley. I have never been to a bowling alley that had private bowling rooms, red velvet ropes and waitresses that come by and reset the computer for you after every game...lol

Might be a little too pretentious for some though....

Celebrated a friend's birthday there last night. I like the bowling alley/bar hybrid they've come up with...good eats and drinks, cool lighting, very clean and well-maintained lanes.

However, the service is atrocious. Considering your coming here for amusement, you would hope the workers would be slightly friendly, but most were barely polite.

Oh, and the drunk guy from the kitchen staff that stumbled up to us as we walked out, trying to hit on us? Kinda off-putting and scary...

Over priced and bad customer service. The only good thing is the quality of the lanes/balls. This place tried to hard in the looks/club department and not hard enough in the bowling department.

Employees seemed new to their jobs and even the manager had trouble ringing me up when I came time to pay making numerous errors that resulted in a $25 increase of my bill. After waiting for almost 45 minutes management refunded my bill and fixed it to the correct and now reduced price.

Take your bowling plans some where else.

Went here for the company's Christmas party so the place was shut down for a few hours. it was nice to have the entire place to ourselves!
The place was pretty big. There's a good size game room for non bowlers to play the Wii, a pool table and some arcades.

The biggest peeve for me would be the bowling shoes. I was a bit concern about sticking my feet into used shoes by other people. But they weren't so bad...

The bowling balls could use a little bit of an upgrade though. They were pretty beat up and scratched.

All the lanes were nice and smooth. I like how our marketing team were able to put our logo onto the LED screen at the end of every single lane. that was really cool!

We were served Italian food - which I think they have order from Mad Italians next door. It wasn't bad at all. All the servers were great at filling up the pitchers and bringing out the food so it was always full.

All in All, I had a great time, but I think that has a lot to do with the company I was with.

Tried to go for my girlfiend's birthday. You know, to bowl.

Couldn't reserve anything, the "Private Lanes" require an *ahem* $2500 commitment of food, drink, and lane rental. Hah. Smart move on their part to make it so steep, considering no one was using the room at all when we were there... Way to hold out for the big money that's never coming.

The place is consistently waaay understaffed, and the employees all seem stressed and put-out.

Also, couldn't get us drinks at the bar to save my freakin' life. The bartenders were so backed up that they decided to just pretend I wasn't actually standing there. The whole experience was very very frustrating.

We went to Karaoke instead, which was the win. Forget you 300.

I would highly recommend NOT going here. This was my first time at this bowling alley and we will not be returning. The customer NO-service were all short-tempered, snobby & rude when we could actually find someone that actually worked there. For being such a nice looking place on the inside, you would not expect so much hostility, chaos & confusion. All the prices were completely ridiculous: bowling, rental, food & drinks. We planned a last minute Bday party for a good friend & they charged us $25 for bringing our own cake, plates utensils etc...! Plus were were not even allowed to split the bill whatsoever (we had about 20 peops!)! So go there if you want to be ripped off & degraded, otherwise steer clear!!

I agree with the majority of the reviews here. This place is stupid as hell, period.

Who wants to go to a night club and bowl? Seriously? More importantly, who wants to go to a night club filled with thugs, hoodlums, drug dealers, and other lowlife and bowl? Just a quick survey of the parking lot tells you what's in store for you with all the 300Cs, Chargers, Magnums, Hummers, and Escalades on 26" chrome wheels. But if you're brave enough to go on in take note to hold on to your wallet tight, not just because you will likely get robbed at gunpoint but because everything in here is double and triple the cost of a regular bowling alley. The prices here are so outrageous you'd think you were getting gold plating on everything. You're not. The food I did see looked like the dog threw it up.

I was smart enough not to even try and order anything, I just studied the scene for a few minutes, realized I'd rather not be murdered, and left. In that time frame I never saw an employee anywhere.

I was happy to discover a bowling alley near my house.
I was not happy since the moment I walked through the door.
They were expensive on all accounts.
This was not a bowling alley for anyone who is used to the typical bowling scene.
This is a bowling alley for someone who expects a club scene.
If this is what you like, you will love it.
I don't expect to go back unless they create some kind of crazy good nightly special.

I think this place has been remodeled. As opposed to previous posts, it's actually pretty nice inside. Tons of TV's, very good computer scoring.

That said ... this prices are way too high. There is no reason to have "wait service" at a bowling alley. My god... you could easily spend $50-60 on food + a gratuity, that's nuts. It should just be a counter service with basic burgers, tenders, etc. $6-8 range ... not the $10-12 range + gratuity like it is now for wait service.

Bowling Alley - B
Cost of Bowling, shoes - B -
Cost of Food - F

300 looks better than it used to, before all the plasma TVs and such...but it's also overpriced. I only go to this place if I'm invited these days.

It's really Club 300 Atlanta cuz after a certain time you gotta be 21...what kind of family fun can you have on the weekends if they gonna turn it into a club?

Ok so, I have been to this place sometime ago but did not read a review...I can't remember why not right now....

However..here are my pet peeves with 300. I don't like the crowd and the inside seriously needs an upgrade. I do like the pricing to bowl a game.. I think that's pretty cheap.

The drinks are good and the food is okay. I won't pass out or anything from eating it and when you are drinking as most of us know the food taste just as good.

Honestly, there is no reason for me to return.

Odds of bowling a 300 game: 1 in 11,500

Odds of me returning to 300: 1 in 11,500,000

300 is the worst bowling alley I have ever been to. The lanes were in horrible condition. The food and drinks were overpriced. The wings were good, but they were $12. My beer was $7. Bowling was more expensive too. I would expect an upscale bowling alley to be expensive, but it wasn't half as nice inside as Ten Pin Alley. Also, there was a misunderstanding between my friends and the staff. I think management should have honored the original agreement (or at least what my friends understood it to be). That was an easy solution that would have satisfied my friends at no cost to the bowling alley. It seemed like an obvious solution. I didn't really care about the outcome, but I observed what I thought was "bad business." I don't like to deal with bad businesses.

If you want to go bowling ITP, I would suggest FunTime Bowling.
good bowling at a good price

If you want to go to an upscale bowling alley I would go to Ten Pin Alley instead. It really is much nicer inside.

Um, this was the worst bowling experience I've ever had-- & I've been to some places that I swore athlete's foot was taking root immediately upon contact with my rented shoes.

Why would anyone try to make a "club" with velvet ropes out of a BOWLING Alley?
Bouncers? Outside the perimeter at a bowling alley? Seriously?
Why would you even try to class- up bowling & then charge out the ass for it??? Sacrilege.
The designer or promoter should've done their homework & rented Lebowski or watched the effing Simpsons for a truly enjoyable recipe for bowling. Beer + bowling-- it's pretty hard to mess up that combo. Ever. Kudos to you guys for proving me wrong.

I played 2 games & had a pitcher of beer -- my tab was almost 80 bucks.

1. Stretch Hummer (sittin' on 24s) parked outside
2. 'Roided bouncers checking I.D. out front
3. Velvet Rope (yes, to get into a bowling alley)
4. Cover charge (yes, to get into a bowling alley)
5. VIP Room (yes, once you get into the bowling alley)

Honorable Mention:
**They give you change in one dollar bills
**Chicken Wings & Fries are the most ordered menu items
**Unbe-Weave-able scenery

300 takes itself waaaaayyy too serious.....don't waste your time.

I started organizing a bowling group on http://meetup.com just over a year ago, and for about the first 6 months we bowled at 300 Atlanta every 2 weeks. I selected 300 Atlanta because they don't have leagues so it was easy to get lanes pretty much whenever we wanted to bowl. Oh yeah, and it was up the street from my apartment so I could walk home if I got drunk.

The alley used to be AMF Chamblee Lanes, and I bowled there the whole time I was in elementary and high school. A few years ago, AMF decided to remodel the alley on a new concept to make it more upscale. Gone were the leagues and the racks and racks of house balls spread out across the building. Instead, the concept was to host business events. The furniture was updated to better match the "high class" design, and the staff retrieve the right-sized ball for you. There was even waiter service for the bar and the kitchen.

While the alley looks nice now, AMF didn't bother to replace the lane equipment of automatic scorers. During the few months we bowled there, we frequently had to move to a different lane in the middle of a game because the pinsetter broke. The automatic scoring system made frequent errors, either because of outdated equipment or buggy software. The lane-side service was great at first, but after about a month it became much faster just to walk up to the bar for a drink, and you didn't have to deal with a rude server. The only advantage is the lanes themselves: the original wood lanes are still in place, compared to many other alleys in the city which have synthetic lanes. Call me old fashioned, but I prefer the sound of the wooden lanes.

Along with upscaling the interior, they also upscaled their prices. When we were bowling there, they were $4-5 per game, and $4 for shoes. We usually bowled when they were running a $15 Monday special: all you want to bowl, including shoes. I recently called the center to see what their prices were in hopes I could move my group back. Unfortunately, they are now $6 a game and $5 for shoes, and I was told they do not ever run specials. Anyone willing to pay $23 to bowl 3 games deserves to pay $23 to bowl 3 games.

Adding to the high prices and outdated equipment, they continuously blared rap music as loud as possible and refused to either change the station or turn it down, even when my group were the only bowlers in the place.

I guess the folks at AMF would rather have a nightclub atmosphere as opposed to a bowling atmosphere, and more power to them. I won't be taking my group back to 300 Atlanta, however. I've found management at the other alleys in town is very willing to work with me and actually WANT my business, so they're the ones who are going to get it.

300 was a fun night out, I would classify it as more of an "entertainment establishment" instead of a full blown bowling alley. Though I know that's the draw -- bowling. It was on the spendy side, but entertaining, so it was worth it.

Our "Lane Captain" was friendly, but a little slow on the response time. When we went it wasn't busy at all, but we had to wait to get her attention.

I had a root beer and a club sandwich and it was excellent! The food was on REAL plates, and drinks were served in REAL glasses. This means a lot to my tree-hugger side. There was also REAL flatware that was REALLY clean!

There is better bowling in the area, and I'm bound to find out where is the best.

We had a great time, but I wouldn't use my own ball there again. The lane managed to take chips out of my ball, not big gouges, just little ones, and not worth the effort of complaining. Just worth knowing that I'd use house balls instead of I went there.

Review #100 is for 300! 300 Atlanta Bowling, that is.

We came here after being summarily dismissed at another bowling alley which was more "in-town" (I won't name names here but I did write a review of this other place). After being so harshly rejected, we were desperately seeking a place to bowl. So, when we entered 300 Atlanta Bowling and learned there would be a wait of more than an hour, we were just happy to be accepted. We put our name on the list and gave them a cell phone number so they could call us when our lane was available (NOTE: bring cell phone with you when you come here).

Our wait turned out to be a little over two hours, which would have been a big deal if we had not discovered the bar inside 300 Atlanta Bowling. They server pitchers of cheap beer at this bar (not cheap pitchers, mind you; cheap beer) so we sat down and ordered one. During the course of our wait, we noticed several people ordering food - typical bar food like chicken fingers, burgers, fries, mozzarella sticks, etc. - but the food looked and smelled pretty good. It looked much better than what I would typically expect from bowling food. Also, during the course of our wait, the lights dimmed, the music got louder and the whole place got more crowded. (NOTE: There are no video games or pool or anything to occupy you while you wait; this means no photo hunt, as well!)

We finally got our lane, shoes and bowling balls and these were all fine except that they were low on balls that night and the one I got did not quite fit my fingers correctly. Fortunately, there were 6 ladies bowling on the adjoining lane to ours and they let me use any of their bowling balls that I wanted. They were also dancing and were very fun. As the night went on, the whole place seemed to be transforming into a nightclub. This was further evidenced when we left and saw people lined up behind the velvet rope to get in - clearly people were coming here without the intention to bowl.

The whole bowling experience was pretty fun. At the lanes, you get a server who brings you more pitchers (or other drinks) and food. When I requested water, she even brought me a pitcher of water. We ordered only a few appetizers (spinach and artichoke dip, mozzarella sticks) but they were actually pretty decent. When we finished bowling, all our lane fees, shoe rental fees, and drink and food charges were on one bill and we paid our waitress - this was very convenient.

The only really bad thing about this visit was that, after waiting for 2+ hours for our lane, we did not want to give it up so we kept bowling. I bowled five games, which is more games than I have ever bowled in a row in my life, and I cannot believe how sore I am! The next day it was not too bad but two days later, when I stepped out of bed in the morning, I fell over. I could hardly walk all day!

Although we didn't end up bowling when we went... we still stayed about 3 hrs just drinking, eating( the spinach dip with the pita bread is delish), people watching, and dancing.. yes.. dancing in a bowling alley.. this place reminded me more of a club the night we went than a bowling alley. And It was packed! The single girls I was with definitely loved all the eye candy there.

I called 30 minutes before I was going to be there to check hours and prices. (this was at 11.15) They told me they were open until 1 and that games were 3$ and shoes were 4.50$ So we drove the long freaking way out there get inside and the lady at the front desk looks at us and then walks off. 3 Minutes later this guy walks over eating a rib from a togo box and says hey, what do you want? Told him we wanted to bowl and he said that he wasn't making money tonight so he was gonna' close right then. I'm not even trying to go back, not worth driving another hour round trip just to be turned away from some rude guy who didn't even really look like he worked there. Hopefully other people don't have this same experience, I miss the old lanes that were there before.

[Edit]
Also, even though they are an AMF bowling lane, they do not accept AMF coupons. Glad I called before I went!

Whatcha gonna do on Halloween? Get costumed up and go bowling!

Um, yeah, and you're gonna drop some dough for the experience. The two of us spent $70 for two games apiece, two shoe rentals, two burgers and two beers. Yowch.

I was, however, impressed with the redo of this bowling alley and the ease of the check-in process. Everything is streamlined, from reserving the lane to picking out shoes and a ball to ordering food.

Once you're assigned a lane number, head to the shoe station and choose the grip size and ball weight you need. Need an extra ball? No problem. The attendant will take care of you, then you're off to the lane.

There, your Lane Captain will help get you set up in the computer system with names, etc. and show you the call buttons for food, system help, etc. Then the server comes by for drink and food orders. The beer selection on tap is somewhat lacking, but the menu has a good mix of appetizers, burgers and sandwiches, signature BBQ dishes and desserts. The night we went they also had a wing special and racks of ribs.

The staff is friendly, albeit the servers are eager to score a food or drink order, so head's up if you're really just wanting to bowl.

The big video screens over the lanes and cool lighting add to the overall ambiance. Wednesday's music was a good mix of hip-hop and Top-40 with a smattering of country thrown in. Later in the evening, the atmosphere turns more "club," complete with a DJ and the need to yell over the music to talk to your date.

Would I go back there? Maybe, but I'd save 300 Atlanta for a special occasion outing. (If you're up for more of a traditional bowling alley experience, hit Midtown Lanes instead, savor the retro feel and save some cash in the process.)

I remember going to this place when it was called Chamblee lanes, and I have to say, the renovation took this place from bowling alley, to bowling palace! Seriously, where have you ever seen granite counter-tops and mood lighting in a bowling alley?

I do have to point out, though, that the increased attention to internal aesthetic does mean a longer wait, and an increased price on booze and food. I am not really complaining, since there are other bowling alleys that charge just as much but aren't as nice.

I totally agree with Lori though, this thing is way up at the TOP of the perimeter, and is on an access road. Somewhat hard to find if you don't know where you are going, or if you are afraid of going near the perimeter (as I am!).

Gorgeous bowling alley, great food, a good scene. It's more upscale, and you're obviously going to pay a higher price for it, but it's great for a fun night out.

The only bad thing is the location. It's seriously out in the middle of nowhere.

Finally, a bowling alley for adults has landed in the A-Town. Formerly AMF bowling alley, 300 Atlanta is by far the best place to bowl in the metro. With updated dcor and a convenient location of the I-285 Chamblee Tucker Road, this newly renovated concept is genius and very similar to the AMC Buckhead Backlot. Where else can you bowl and receive restaurant style service? You walk in, request a lane, get your bowling shoes and ball, order food and drinks at the lane and pay for everything when your game is over.

At 300 Atlanta, the appetizers, entrees and desserts are similar to what you would find at TGI Friday's or Chili's. Friday and Saturday evenings are reserved for Xtreme bowling which almost feels like the club. You'll see plenty of people socializing, bowling, dancing and drinking while listening to the DJ spin. The added bonus is the streamed music videos that are played on large projection screens above the lanes. Chances are after you bowl here, you will not want to bowl anywhere else in Atlanta.
