I wasn't too impressed with the tapas. I was expecting the tapas to be more unique and special. Instead, it was the same old same old. I guess maybe it was exotic for LaCrosse, but it was rather bleh for me. I am hoping they can change up the menu a little and be more daring with the tapas.

I chose 4 stars based on the location and view.  They have a great patio to sit out and enjoy the view with a glass of wine.  The food is good but portions are limited.  I feel that for the $$, food should be above average or simply more of it.  We have been here multiple times for drinks and typically had good service though the "sisters" portray an arrogance which could easily come off poorly.

I loved this place. They have a great thing going here. I went with my girlfriend who was here before and highly recommended that we go so we finally did. They have some nice cocktails available including the bloody mary I had which was excellent and loaded with a stick of cheese, sausage, veggies and a slice of bacon for dunking into the tomato juice. We had a selection of tappas including the chicken satay, the horseradish cheese stuffed shrimp cocktail, the dates stuffed with cheese or chorizo, artichoke dip and a green apple half with soft cheese, pecans and honey drizzled on it. We also had the cerviche to start with which was very good. Everything overall tasted super good and the service was fantastic. We also split a flight of sweet wines which at $12 was a good deal. I would for sure go here again in the future.

4 Sisters Wine Bar and Tapas Restaurant is my go-to place for happy hour, drinks or dinner with co-workers and friends. I have taken every relative or friend who has visited me in the La Crosse area to 4 Sisters and they have all been impressed. The atmosphere is what really sets 4 Sisters apart from other places in La Crosse. It is classy and trendy yet welcoming and inviting. A beautiful patio, well- made drinks, tasty tapas and a great staff make 4 Sisters one of my favorite spots in La Crosse.

4 sisters is one of my favorite places in downtown La Crosse. The atmosphere is great, the service is wonderful, the wine selection is fantastic, and the food is delicious. My favs are the 4 cheese quesadilla and the Real McCoy (to die for btw...yumm!) and a glass of moscato.

For years, my wife and I have felt that a good tapas restaurant would do well in La Crosse.  We fell in love with them on one of our many trips to Chicago many years ago and now have established our favorites there - Cafe Iberico, Quartino, Purple Pig.  Anyway, I digress...

Location and ambience are excellent; it is located next to Riverside Park with a great view of the river and park.  They have an excellent patio as well that is very heavily used in the warmer months.  Inside, the decor is progressive and clean; it successfully creates a positive first impression.

When we asked if they had any notable selections that they recommend, they provided us with several.  We opted for the artisan cheese plate, the paella, and a quesadilla that had dates in it (can't recall name).  We also purchased a bottle of cab.

The artisan cheese plate came first.  I had expected artisan cheeses that are of at least good quality - they weren't.  The bread was dry, airy, and chewy - but not in a good way.  I honestly felt like the swiss and cheddar were cheap brick cheeses and the chevre and mozz were not memorable.  See the pictures.

Next was the paella, which was the best of the three but when compared to other paellas I have had, was not exceptional.  It was a bit greasy and simply didn't meet our expectations.

Last was the quesadilla.  It came absolutely smothered in greasy cheese that overwhelmed the entire plate.  See the picture.  I felt that this plate had the most potential to be a great dish but the cheese overload killed it.

Perhaps it is unfair of me to compare it to the tapas restaurants we frequent in Chicago.  Perhaps my expectations were simply too high.  There are a few restaurants that do hold up well to their large city peers here in La Crosse, this just isn't one of them.  I hope that with time, they will improve the quality of the dishes.  I will give it at least one or two more tries before a final verdict is, pardon the pun, served.

We visited 4 Sisters on the perfect spring evening.  The weather was awesome so we picked a spot on the patio with a view of the water.  The wine and cheese tray were awesome...I can't wait to go back!

The decor is very funky and comfortable.  The Pork tacos are delicious and the quesadillas, salsa and quac are all wonderful.  The first time I was there they had hot toddies on special and they were wonderful.  The drinks are a little expensive, but if you go there during happy hour they are more reasonably priced.  This is my new favorite restaurant!

Four Sisters is my favorite wine bar in La Crosse. The atmosphere is fantastic: low-key, not too loud, and views of the river. I've only had a few appetizers, but they've been fantastic. Service is very good, and the wine selection is good. Happy hour is a particularly good deal!

One of two places I visited worthy of yelping during my short visit to La Crosse from the Bay Area. First off, the atmosphere is nice and the layout works well. I noticed there is a great patio, which I imagine would be a prime dining and drinking spot in the summer maybe even in the fall with some heat lamps. There was some really good live music that I was appreciative of ( great set list of singer/songwriter covers). The drinks... solid drink list, especially given the limited resources for micro brew distribution in the area. Obviously the wine list was extensive. I had a very well made manhattan. The food..... I was thoroughly impressed with the menu. This is not a Spanish style tapas, but the menu works. I was super stoked to see empanadas, so that was a must have. We also ordered bacon wrapped stuffed dates and the lettuce wraps. All delicious and tons of flavor. It's obvious there was some work put into the menu and great care in preparation. Service was great!!! I would have probably paid around $80 dollars for the drinks and tapas of this quality back in Cali, but when I got the bill I was beside myself it was only $45 dollars. You can't beat that price for good tapas. Tapas are a really fun way to dine, I hope they do well. I know tapas are a completely foreign concept to most people in Wisconsin, so I'm sure this spot will go largely undiscovered and under appreciated by most. BUT try it and have fun with it!!! Good stuff.

I think it is also worth mentioning for those who are unaware, tapas are "small plates" or "snacks", so don't complain when you get your food and the portions are small. The idea is ordering several plates and community eating.

Nikki Solberg went out of her way to serve us and she did 5 plus job. Thank you for the great day.I had Groovy Brew and that is my new all time favorite beer as of today

I was so excited when this place opened in La Crosse.  Like the other reviewers mentioned, the atmosphere is great ( will probably be really nice in the summer when the patio opens) and the wine/beer list is good. Great Location.  The food is average at best.  We have been there 3 times and each time have been underwhelmed. It should not be presented as Tapas  - it is more like Midwestern appetizers.   We have had the bruschetta trio - tasteless, no salt, not edible.  The dates wrapped w/ bacon - not bad.  The pork carnita taco - the best thing that we ordered.  They really need to work on their food . . . .

If you go - just get drinks.

The atmosphere here is nice. I love the lounge chairs and couches. However - the food is not good. We tried three tapas - the pork sliders, chicken lettuce wraps and smokehouse flatbread. The flatbread crust was exactly like frozen pizza crust. It tasted more like cardboard than anything and was thicker and chewier than any flatbread should be. Flavor was ok, but presentation was off.  The lettuce wraps came pre assembled so the lettuce was soggy and the filling looked disgusting the taste not much better. The pork sliders were average.

If I ever came back it would be only to have a glass of wine. They do have a nice wine list with reasonable prices.

A bit chilly inside but overall a decent play to drink a wine or two. Should be popular in the summer if they utilize the outdoor area

The dishes are little, but If it's Spanish tapas you want, you won't find it here. Mini "slider" burgers, cheese flat bread, white bread with oil and vinegar, yes. You will see an occasional appearance by chorizo. But if it's Spanish tapas you want, you will leave hungry.

The lack of authenticity here may not be their fault; La Crosse is a tough market in which to sell anything other than pizza or sandwiches, yet they've done just that, kinda. The wait staff, presumably the owners, exhibit ennui indicative of the fact that they hatched this idea over wine, thought it would be an awesome undertaking, but didn't think through the logistics.

The restaurant itself can be quite cold, temperature-wise, in winter, I wore my coat throughout dinner.

The art on the wall to the left as you enter is far too small for the space. I think a mural or anything larger-scale would become a great focal point.

Friends have called this place "expensive" by La Crosse standards--I think it isn't bad but would love to see a more adventuresome approach to the menu itself.

I will be back, because the food they serve is solid, even though it isn't tapas.

Wine selection isn't great, beers are bottled, but the service is good.  We went when the journeymen played, which definitely added to the nice atmosphere.

Best thing to happen to La Crosse in 20 years! The food is incredible, the atmosphere is so relaxing and the view of the river is awesome!

They have Tapas, wine, micro brews and only top shelf liquor!
