Yup I'm a fan - especially for the half price hours.
Wings/pizza are my favorite dishes  there and I must say their onion rings are the boom (Small price for a large amount)
The only down fall is there space - IT VERY TIGHT!!!
Late nights there's a bouncer at the door - so have your ID's ready. Â (I'm guessing 21 and up after a specific time but unfortunately I don't know the time)
Very small, dark neighborhood bar with a strange configuration. Â Its basically is a step up for Southfield folks to go vs. Shield's, Friday's or Lucky's(SLF). Â Its a meeting place for friends or hook up spot... Â I would not bring a date here as there is no intimate space. Â If your creeping.. keep in mind the front is all glass!
They have a strong group of regulars and is often the meeting spot for local high school alumni or close residents. Â
While small, its is decorated nicely and is comfortable... that is if you can get a seat. Owners spent a lot of money on setup... just have not seen much re-investment and 3/4 years later its starting to show. Â They offer TVs lining the back wall of bar but I would not consider it a sports bar since the DJ will be spinning tracks over the house speakers vs. commentary from the big game. Â
It gets crowded because the area does suffer from variety, heck SLF only has one major dining/Bar&Grill chain, that's Fridays. Â Interaction with others is tough because of the configuration, so if your looking to meet a nice guy or girl, stay at the bar, don't get landlocked at the endless table/booth thing... if you can't sit at the bar, don't sit on the far right wall, sit in the middle section but facing the bar! Â
While small, Bar 7 does offer a bit of a better experience than Fridays... same crowd, just grown up a bit in age and income. Â Service is slow and seemed a bit stand offish... Â Food is just ok.... The drinks are strong so it makes up for the fact that I get heartburn every time after eating there. Â Prices are acceptable. Â
Given the area and limited competition, Bar 7 would do well in a larger venue and maybe able to address its wait staff issue if it were in a more conventional space.
Great spot for Happy Hour after work. It is lively in the evening and can be kind of crowded. In the evenings you get the younger crowd. There is a DJ typically most evenings. Good food. Salmon is good, pizza and wings are great. Long Islands are also great. Some staff are pretty friendly and some not so much. Â It is a a small spot so it can get crowded.
