Service was great but the food was way typical. I had the Chicken Vesuvio which was in dire need of seasoning. My other 2 guest ordered steak-so Longhorn Steakhouse-ish. Nothing special going on here at all:(

Wrote a review about how bad the service was years ago, but returned recently because family members wanted to go and celebrate a birthday. We had a relatively large group and It was just as horrible!!! Food is bland and several of our dishes arrived COLD. Service, though pleasant, was SLOW to say the least. Our party was seated at 5 and received our entrees at 7. Unbelievable!

I had a prime filet and my husband had lamp chops and both were good. However, our server was lacking in all aspects and unaccommodating. He wanted a half order of oysters, and the server said she could not do that. The entrees come with a choice of potato or rice, and I asked to sub a side of sautéed mushrooms for the potato since they were the same price on the list of sides. The server said no, we don't do subs. I said ok well I still don't want any potato just mushrooms. So I was charged full price for an extra side even though I didn't get any potato. She brought out the condiments we asked for when were almost done eating as well as our second drinks. Some bus boy started vacuuming the floor in the dining room which was obnoxious. This place charges city prices without city ambience or service, so you are better off driving downtown for a better dining experience.

I will try to make this long story short...

A few years ago I had the worst dining experience of my life at this place. I actually had to beg myself (in my head) not to attack the waitress. I wanted to hurt this woman. I hated this place and told everyone I knew the story. Fast forward to Christmas Day 2012. My family had reservations at a restaurant "far away" from our homes for Christmas dinner. 4 hours before we were to meet my family needed to change (long story) and meet not only 2 hours earlier, but in the Orland Park area. Short version- We ended up here.

They got our party of 6 in at the last minute on Christmas! I was prepared to drink away the experience. I walked in with an attitude just waiting for a repeat of the awful things that happened here before. I was wrong. Wrong. Wrong. Wrong.

We had a wonderful server (wish I remembered his name). He seemed stretched a bit thin (they were packed) but we never waited on a thing. This guy busted his a@@ on Christmas to make our dinner special!

Everyone loved the food. We had a bit of everything. The sausage and peppers appetizer was not exactly what I was expecting, but I loved it. The steaks were all great (Ribeye better than Filet, IMO) and my mom loved her fish. Every one of us even ordered dessert. Key lime pie being my favorite.

The manager/possibly owner? came by to check on us and make sure everything was perfect. I really wish I had told him how much this experience had changed my mind. They really turned this place around and have gained 6 new customers!

I had the salmon orleans style i think, the topping was good had like two or three shrimp on top however the salmon was slightly overcooked which made it kinda dry. that green pasta stuff was good after I got over how it looked. i did enjoy my pomegranate martini

This has remained a Christmas Eve staple for us with the in-laws, and it remains a classy, delicious dinner.

They've changed up the menu just a little since we were last here, but not in a bad way. They still have the bright green pasta salad, complimentary bread, etc.

I went for the red meat this year with an 8 oz filet and garlic mashed potatoes. Both delicious, although I'm still trying to figure out why my rather small steak was served all alone on an enormous plate (with the mashed potatoes on a separate small plate). A little odd.

All in all, though, I enjoy this tradition and I've enjoyed all of my meals at 94 West. Let's hope my in-laws keep doing well enough to continue to treat us! :)

We went there for Easter Brunch. Our waiter was excellent & the food was great as well! Will make a return visit on a regular business night to see how food & service compare to a holiday!

I was just here over the weekend to celebrate a friend's engagement. There were 11 of us and we had reservations. My date & I were among the first couples to arrive so we sat at the bar, ordered some drinks & chatted up our friends. The bar is nice, the decor is lovely & the wait was very brief once everyone arrived. Our server was friendly, the ambiance was quiet but social and we all sat comfortably and were able to interact without much noise around us, the place wasn't packed but not crowded. Less people than expected for a Sat. night. The restrooms were very nice, clean, suitably decorated with private stalls. The reason I didn't like it? The food was average - the bread was subpar, the salad mediocre & having never eaten here before, I scanned the menu undecided and opted for the Chicken alla Bryan which was described on the menu as 1/4 chicken with red and green bell peppers, pepperonicini and olive oil. Sounded delish. But it's actually covered in marinara sauce and no pepperoncini, at least none you could taste. I assume it was cooked in olive oil because it definitely wasn't part of the sauce. I'm not a fan of red sauce but couldn't understand why that wasn't included in the description. It didn't taste that great, average at best and oddly, no sides were served with it although the menu stated a potato option was included with every entree. I was disappointed but enjoyed the event and the company though, I won't be returning unless someone has another event there. Most of us opted to take leftovers with us and the server said they didn't carry any bags. Yet as we stood by the door prior to leaving, one of the waiters asked if we'd like bags & returned with several. Poor service.

Not a steak house I would recommended. Order a ribeye and was way under cooked. The manager even tried to sell me that it was cooked properly. If it isnt how I ordered it, then try to fix it, don't try to tell me it is fine.

Not sure why the reviews aren't higher! Unless I went on a good day, and a good day it was! The brunch buffet on Sunday was worth it. I am shocked this wasn't in my monthly restaurant rotation! Won't make that mistake again,, I will be back! A lot! Oh, and I almost forgot to mention the free glass of champagne or mimosa with brunch! SCORE!

Came here for Sunday brunch and wasn't impressed with the selection. I did enjoy the all you can eat crab legs! They also have mimosas and champagne, two glass max and the glasses are so tiny! I had 3 sips of champagne and was done with my first glass...what a waste! I have had better Sunday brunch with bottomless mimosas or champagne. Don't waste your appetite or money on 94 West Sunday Brunch.

Overpriced and bland.

My family of four and two additional guests attended based on a previous experience. The appetizer of oysters was enjoyed by the guests. The soup and salad were okay. The steaks, which are pricey, were poorly seasoned and tasted pretty awful. I did not eat my steak and the server did not even notice. The garlic mashed potatoes tasted really bland also.

I suppose if you do not like flavoring and way over paying for a steak this is your place to go.

Also they were out of milk and select desserts. One of the desserts that was ordered was never brought and when we were almost done with desserts the waitress said that oops we are out is there something else you want.

I would never go back.

This is a review of the Sunday Brunch, which for $25 is a great deal including an unlimited amount of Champagne and/or Mimosas. The selection was varied and well prepared (although I was not a fan of the pan of scrambled eggs...I'm finicky about eggs) but they had an omelette station that looked good, a carving station slicing medium rare prime rib, crab claws, country sausage, bacon and a bevy of covered dishes that my brunch companions raved about. Situated on 94th Ave in Orland Park it has easy access, decent table service for beverages and a pleasant dining room. I looked at the dinner menu which looked even better than the brunch and definitely will return to check them out. This brunch did not disappoint!

This review is based on only one experience, and not from the restaurant proper, but from a catered event in a banquet room.

That said, the food was fabulous. We had a choice of about six different entrees, which was great (usually at these company-sponsored con ed events, you may get two choices...but six? Amazing). The filet mignon was PERFECT. I always order rare (as in, still with a barely detectable pulse), and I often get medium, but this was cooked to order.

The other courses were all delicious, especially the cheesecake dessert.

Since this was in a banquet room, the ambience wasn't over-the-top, but that's okay. I"m sure I'll be back to eat in the actual restaurant.

Just went here for hubby's birthday. Wanted to take the family some place very nice, let's just say I'm 158 poorer and embarrassed for suggesting this place.
Service extremely slow. 2 kids 2 adults only. We watched other tables come and go as we waited and waited. For an expensive place one would think dirty dishes would be picked up promptly, not so here at 94 west . You would think the
Feature dessert a lava cake you have to wait 30 minutes for would be perfect. Not so! Actually burnt on bottom and no lava. Terrible!
The salad that come with meal?? Straight out of a bag, I'm sure of it.
Stuffed portobello mushroom?Heavily seasoned. Calamari? Seriously had better at tgi Fridays. First bite guess I got a shell. Wtf?
Tirimasu? Frozen in middle! No drinks offered
Or refilled. Coffee forgotten about. And that nuclear green
Pasta salad? PASS! I cannot believe this place is still open!

Although I can't complain about the food even though it took forever to be served, I give this restaurant a thumbs down for service all the way from the hostess when we walked in and asked how long the expected wait was and her response was "I don't know". Well, isn't that her job to KNOW!? Then when we are finally seated, it took about 20 minutes before a waitress came by to the table next to us...we asked her if she knew who our waitress was...her reponse mimicked the hostess..."I don't know, but I'll take your order." She took our order and then we were forgotten about again! I don't care how good your food might be, if the service is not up to par you just lost a customer! I understand that some people can have an off day every now and then, but it seemed the whole crew was off tonight!

For the prices, the food was extremely disappointing. How do you mess up a Caesar salad? Or chicken? Waiter was not very friendly and despite being nearly empty our food took forever. Will not be eating here again.

Came here with the gf late on a Saturday night (shopped too much) and were thankfully able to be accommodated.

Decor was nice as to be expected from the looks of the place outside,

Service was excellent as the server let us split our entree for a small $5 charge and we were able to still get 2 sweet potatoes (I think there was supposed to be an extra charged over regular potatoes.) Also, she gave us Caesar salads instead of house salads. Anyways, more about the food...

Pork chops: We didn't get the breaded ones and opted for the broiled ones with the baked apples instead. Very good. I was worried that the chops would be dry, but they came out moist and delicious. I liked how the apples were slightly tart to offset the sweetness in the sauce. The entree came with two chops so gf and I each got one.

Caesar salad: I normally would just briefly talk about a Caesar salad, but I did enjoy this one quite a bit. It's not something I would go back for by itself, but it was very good. What I appreciated was the distinct anchovy flavor in the dressing. Usually, I never taste the fishy, salty taste, but I could easily taste it in this dressing. I don't think it was overpowering at all and thought it to be perfect.

Seared ahi tuna: Very good. My only wish is that they didn't put so much sesame seed on the outside and they had more wasabi aioli to accompany the tuna. The seaweed salad with the tuna was fine.

We also got scallops and they were decent too. Nothing to write home about.

So food was good, but service was excellent which is why I think this place is at a solid 4 with the service. I love getting good service as it really does hurt or help one's opinions of a place. The server was very attentive and very accommodating.

Prices aren't cheap, but I didn't think they were expensive. I'm happy with the price for what we got. Will definitely be back.

I ordered the "22 oz. Prime Rib Johnny's Cut | $38.00 - Served with Garlic Mashed Potatoes." It was really good. I was disappointed with the size of the soup bowl that I got with my meal. The soup itself (Beef Barley) was very good, but it was the size of a small cup. Are you kidding me, can you afford it 94 West?. The server, Ryan, was very slow with the drinks. When, I stopped eating for a bit to talk, the server, Ryan, thought I was finished when I was not finished and placed another empty plate on top of mine very quickly, without asking, and took it away, before I had time to react. I did not complain because I only had a few pieces left, but it was annoying and disrespectful, but I showed the same disrespect by reducing my tip. On a minor note, we were seated in an area where they were having a party (not happy with that at all--too loud); I blame the person who seated us for that. I reduced my tip for that as well.

Only tip well when you receive all three: Good Service, Good Food, Respect

We received good food, but poor service, and poor respect.

Well you don't just go to 94 West on a whim because it is not the cheapest restaurant on the block. I will say however that the service and food are top quality. I have also seen them on http://restaurant.com so that helps a bunch. I am a big fan of the rib-eye and as of today 94 West has my favorite rib-eye in the south burbs. Although they have live music in the bar it is not so loud that you can hear it throughout the entire restaurant( take note fish restaurant). Overall I have had several very good experiences at 94 West and look forward to many more.

Having moved to Orland within the past year, been here twice. I have to say, its probably the best place I have gone to since locating here. Great steaks, well, that is what its known for. Good desserts and good ambiance. I can say I don't have to go to the city for a good steak. And they have entertainment on the patio in the summers. I want to check out the Sunday Brunch, I hear its fantastic, so yet to review that.

Actually I wanted to dine at the Char-house next door which was closed, so my son and I ended up here. I frequent restaurants downtown but this place looked cool and upscale. Sadly the service was hardly upscale. We sat outside on the patio where the lighting was horrible (unbalanced).

The food was mediocre at best. The martini was awesome tho.

Go for the fish, stay for the drinks. I swear this was my final stop on my bday week of going out to eat and celebrating, and this was with my family. We arrived for a late lunch and when we walked in we realized there were two parties renting out the entire restaurant minus the bar. We didn't want to leave so we sat at a high top in the bar and I think they did a nice job of accommodating us considering they had so much going on.

We started out with the shrimp cocktail and it was great, the shrimps were bigger than I was expecting and the sauce was flavorful.

For my entree I had the swordfish Citrus Crusted with a Light White Wine Sauce & Sauteed Zucchini Ribbons and rice pilaf. Now we were still ordering off the lunch menu but the size of the fish was HUGE. It was double what I was expecting to be served and it was cooked perfectly. I also really loved how thin the zucchini was cut and the sauce went great with the rice pilaf.

We had a bottle of wine with lunch and rather than dessert, we all had one final cocktail. They were your traditional martini drinks but they were made really strong. I don't know if twas just the heavy hand of our server (who had to pull double duty on our table) or what but they really packed a punch.

I can't wait to go back when there aren't two parties and we can properly sit in the dining room.

The place was packed on a Friday night, and I felt that I was about to dive into something great! First of all, the decor is very nice, and the service is upscale. Everything really did feel like you were in a great place. Unfortunately, the food was subpar and quite over-priced. My steak was over cooked and so was the rest of my party's, so that was disappointing. The side dishes were pretty blah, and just average at best. I am a bit disappointed with the value of the place, but it was upscale and nice.

This restaurant has become my family's Christmas Eve tradition. Okay, so far it's only been two years in a row, but you know, traditions are a process.

Well, 94 West is a great place for a holiday dinner. It's classy without ever feeling pretentious. The food is excellent and the service has been absolutely amazing.

Special attention needs to go to our most recent server, Janice. It can't be very fun being stuck working on Christmas Eve, yet she was absolutely fantastic. She was quick, attentive, and a complete gem to my little brother who was being a bit of a brat because he just wanted to get home and open presents from my grandparents. (He's six, give him the benefit of the doubt). She was so good with him, he eventually turned around and got a lot cheerier. Service like that makes a huge difference.

As for the food itself, it's all around great. Once again, my most recent meal was particularly good. I got a 16 oz ribeye with sauteed onions. It was cooked perfectly and seasoned in such a way that it enchanced the meat's flavor without overwhelming it. It also came with an excellent stuffed pepper soup that really exceeded expectations.

It's not cheap at all, but for a really special occasion, 94 West is definitely one of your best options in the southern suburbs.

Crab Meat Stuffed Portabella Mushroom-this is a must order! It was huge and when I return I may just order this as my entree...my mouth is watering just thinking about it!

Our waitress was very helpful when we asked for recommendations and the service was speedy without making us feel rushed. Their fish is great, and they offer several different preparations to choose from which I loved. I ordered the Tilapia with the citrus crust and my mom got the Salmon blackened-both very tasty. Their dessert menu looked awesome, but unfortunately we didn't have any room-just an excuse to return I guess!

I really don't remember the last time that I was here, and I forgot that they have an outside patio with a water feature. Great night for it. I had a slab of ribs with a double baked patato. The ribs were nice and meaty and the sauce was mild with a little kick. The tot was o.k. It came with a salad that was pretty big and the house dressing was a vinagrette that was quite tasty. The prices were reasonable with the coupon that is always in the paper for one free meal up to $20 bucks with another one paid for. The atmosphere is quite pleasent also. Just remember to tip on the original bill as the servers are not free.

Ventured to suburbia to dine with mi familia. I was pleasantly surprised with the the Sunday Champagne Brunch they offer. Food was pretty decent --- breakfast fare (sausage, bacon, eggs, biscuits and gravy, french toast), as well as ribs, roast, mashed potatoes, breaded pork chops, shrimp cocktail, salad, fruit, and a variety of desserts.

Service was fantastic. Our server, Jeff, made 12 people very happy. It's tough to impress my dad - and this guy did. Pops threw in extra cash just to show his appreciation.

Overall, it was better experience than when I last reviewed this place.

Terribly disappointed...

We went there for a birthday and were seated in the bar area because they were renting out the rest of the restaurant for a private party. I was not told this when I made the reservation and was not happy - we do not like to eat in bar areas when paying a good amount for a meal, especially for a special birthday celebration.

We ordered Filet Mignon medium and it came out too well done. I sent mine back and it was returned to me rare (bloody). The cook/chef did not seem to know how to cook steak. Cut of meat was inferior - taste very bland and they sliced it thin - for a filet? By the time they brought out my second piece the rest of my meal was cold. Husband ordered swordfish and it was the skimpiest, skinniest cut of fish - 94 West should be ashamed to charge the prices they do for such small itty bitty cuts of meat and fish. The side dishes were equally disappointing, tiny mound of mashed potatoes and a casserole of hard chunks of potato covered with a Velveeta like cheese substance that was fairly tasteless. We left less than happy.

I called the next day to talk to the manager and he did not seem particularly interested - he was more interested in getting me off the phone. Lame excuses: their top chef was on that night so he didn't understand about the filet, the meat is what they 'always' order and the private party was a yearly event that he could do nothing about etc. etc.

Not at all apologetic, more defensive - half heartedly offered a free drink if I came back. I declined - I was not calling for any freebies - I was calling to have the manager listen and hopefully rectify some of the restaurant's problems. This meal along with the phone call was a complete waste of my time.

I do NOT recommend this restaurant at all - if I could give it zero stars I would. They are not interested in pleasing the customer, only getting as much money for inferior food at high prices. They are also not interested in any customer complaints - too bad, with that attitude they won't be getting our business again.

Their lobster bisque here is very, very good, reeks of sherry and is topped with a decent lump of sweet, sweet lobster meat. I would definitely order it again and I might stop in only for another bowl or two before this cruel winter bitch is over.

I had a lovely lunch of the soup with a steak Caesar salad that was pretty tasty, but not the quality of steak or skill of ..steakery...that I would expect from a steakhouse with these kinds of elevated prices. But again, it was tasty. They also have a wonderful, huge baked sweet potato that I got for my baby. Service was great. I ate during the daytime for an early lunch and found them very accommodating to children - probably not as recommended for peak times, but, you know, do what you gotta do.

I haven't had dinner here, but if you are looking for a fancy type dinner in the area (Orland and under the shadow of a Dick's Sporting Goods) then I would recommend it. Like the upper levels of a three star.

Went here for the first time for Sunday brunch. After reading the reviews, I wasn't too thrilled about going. Sometimes when you go somewhere with low expectations, you can be pleasantly surprised. This wasn't the case. It was a nice enough place, the staff was friendly, but I wasn't wowed.

I'm not a big fan of buffets, and something happened while I was in line that illustrated by feelings nicely. The kid standing behind me sneezed a little too near the French toast for my liking. I didn't go back for more. I'm not a germaphob, I just don't like to share food with strangers. If I'm going to pay for someone to make my food, I want it to be served to me and just me.

Now that I'm done ranting, I'll say the buffet had a lot of meat on it, not enough sides and they were slow to replenish the desserts. What I did eat was good enough. Truthfully, I filled up on mimosas.

Had dinner at 94 earlier last night. One of my friends who has eaten there before was ranting and raving about it, so four of us made the drive to Orland Park to try it out.

We ended eating the Saturday Night Summer Buffet, the highlight was supposed to the prime rib. Other main offerings were chicken in Spanish rice, salmon, Oriental style ribs, sliced pork loins, salmon with pineapple trimmings, oysters, and decent sized crab legs.

In my opinion, although the prime rib was good, I've had better, for cheaper. In fact I'd even dare to say that Outback would've been more satisfying, and cheaper too. The ribs were more for show and meant to be avoided. I don't know what sauce they used, but it didn't taste anything remotely Asian-styled. However the pork loins and chicken were pretty good and when combined with the steam veggies and sliced potato cubes, the plate more than made up for the letdown the rest of the food provided. The salmon had potential on initial taste, but I could tell it was overcooked as I continued to chew.

My friends said the crab legs were good, but seemed a bit out of place in a restaurant of that presents a more formal ambience than usual. Unfortunately for 94, clad in a dark wood, semi-formal ambience, complete with vocal jazz-fusion mood music, the food did not live up to my expectations. This is a damn shame because once inside, you'd never guess this restaurant was in a suburban mall.

On the brightside the service was cheery, but professional, and the waitstaff kept on top of filling our drinks, and clearing our finished plates. In the end the bill came out to be $38 a person, including tax and tip. Unfortunately I think only 1 out of the 4 of us came out of the place feeling fully satisfied. The rest of us were thinking of other places that tasted better, for cheaper. And it's a shame because the concept does have potential, but it misses the point of having dinner- the food.

Pros: Great service, semi-formal ambience erases all presence of suburbia once you enter, seperate bar area, and outdoor seating for those who want it.

Cons: Pricey, can get better food elsewhere.

To sum it up: Bland food with classy ambience- I'll take a pass on it.

While outside of Chicago for a work-related event, we happened to ask where a good place to eat would be - and were told that 94 West was "kinda ritzy". So we went there in hopes that it would not equate to chain food.

Sat down and were offered the option of the seafood buffet (it was Friday) - which we passed on. Then a bowl of deep aquamarine-dyed fusilli pasta was brought to our table. We stared at this bizarre chef's treat and asked "what is this?" - the reply was that it was something the chef came up with as his own amuse-bouche. We could not summon the courage to even taste one piece, for fear of changing our body chemistry with so much food dye!

Needless to say the meal followed suit. Steaks were ok - the mushrooms they came with were canned, the steamed broccoli ok, but the potato gratin was nothing but a pile of overcooked potatoes covered with cheddar cheese on the top - cheddar that had no taste and was clearly industrial material.

It was all we could do to bolt down the $10 glass of reserve Chianti and pay the bill. Great service though!
