With my wife out of town I was looking for a place I had not been in a while in downtown Danville. I walked the area checking out several different restaurants and decided on Amber. I was dinning alone on a Friday night so I was not sure what type of service I would get. When I checked in I was ask if I wanted to eat at the bar or one of the bar high top tables. I selected the later even though there were several seats available in the general seating area. I waited about 5-8 minutes before a waitress took my drink order. Within 30 seconds a 2nd waitress asked me the same thing. The two confirmed and my order was passed to the 2nd waitress. I ordered the lettuce wrap appetizer which turned out to be pretty good. For my main course I ordered their steak. I also ordered a 2nd glass wine with my steak. The food was good, what were not very good were the service and no attempt to fix my issues. I never got any bread, even when I ask twice. I did not get my second glass of wine until I was more than 2/3 of the way through my steak. When I brought these issues up my waitress has nothing to offer. Â Needless to say I will not be returning to Amber in the near future.
Review Source:went here for dinner with some friends on a thursday night. we had good service but the food was just average. i had the salmon salad, the lettuce was wilted and the portion was small, not what i was expecting for a $26 salad. Â the truffle fries on the happy hour menu were good though, just the right amount of crispy and perfect seasoning.
