We stopped on the way back to Sacramento for a late lunch. Most of the restaurants in downtown Danville were either closed or waiting to reopen for the dinner crowd. Fortunately Primo's was still open. We had wonderful service, the pizza was delicious and there were 2 particularly helpful people there: Brian and Jay...not sure that is their names....would recommend Primo's to anyone.
Review Source:I was interested in visiting Primos again after the mediocre reviews since my last visit.
I started off by calling ahead to see how busy they were.
A young kid answered the phone and when I asked how long the wait was he promptly said "HOLD". Â I sat there and then he then said hello. I asked again how long the wait was and he said he had to check. I then simply asked if the place was full and he then became agitated and kurt (never got an answer to my question).
Well, we went down anyway and we were seated in 10 minutes.
The place has been remodeled and is more modern (but funky for a pizza place and reminds me of a model home).
We ordered a family Caesar salad. It was the size of a large soup bowl and enough for four small plates. I can buy a six pack of romain lettuce at Safeway for $3.50 so they should provide larger portions....sad.
Then we ordered thin crust pepperoni pizza.... it came back thick like pizza you get at the county fair. And when I inquired about the small salad the waitress turned sour.
I think with a name like Primos, and a previous following of locals dining here people expect more.
This will be my last visit unfortunately :(
I have been going to Primo's for over 15 years and love it. Last night I went and had to ask if they were under new ownership because things were sooooo bad. Â To start they only had three highchairs and we have twins and two of the three high chairs were broken with no safety straps. Then my dad tried order a Heifinwisen (spelling?) which they were out of on tap so he tried to order red hook which they were out of too. Then my little sister ordered Top Shock, they were out and when she asked for a blue moon they said it wasn't cold. Consider this is a pizza and beer place how are they out of ever popular beer? Â The person in charge of ordering definitely needs more training. I had to ask if we could place our order and to remind them to bring me the side I ordered once got all the food. I then tried to order something on the menu and was told they don't carry that anymore (remove it from the menu!). Not once after all the "I'm sorry we don't have that" did they have manager come over. Â I still love his place and our waitress was nice, but geez what a bad dinning experience.
