Quick and dirty: Â Comfortable restaurant with a good food selection. Â Very good food and excellent service. Â This is the second time we have been there since the restaurant changed ownership. Â The quality significantly improved with the change in ownership. Â Unlike the former ownership, bread is included with the meal. Â Highly recommended.
We went there at around 6 PM on Friday, February 1st (I'm a bit behind on my reviews). Â They consistently had three to four tables filled during time we were there.
We had chicken pakora, chicken tikka masala, shrimp tikka masala, and plain paratha.
Chicken pakora: Â Strips of chicken that is breaded, spiced, and deep fried. Â Well done and flavorful. Â The portion was easily large enough to share. Â Recommended.
Chicken tikka masala: Â Ordered medium spicy. Â Well prepared and very flavorful without being too hot. Â The sauce was of a good consistency that well coated the chicken. Â The rice was toothsome and could stand on its own. Â Recommended.
Shrimp tikka masala: Â Ordered spicy. Â The shrimp were relatively small (20 per pound size), but of reasonable quantity. Â As with the chicken tikka masala, it was well prepared. Â I compared the sauces, and the spicy was hotter than the medium spicy, but not significantly so. Â For those that prefer Indian-level spice, I would recommend going to the "hot" level. Recommended.
-had lunch w/D here yesterday. Â They open at 11:00 & we went at 11:30 to see what was fresh on the buffet. Â This is an off-shoot of one of my fav. Indian restaurants with the same name located on Meridian St in Carmel.
We had a delightful lunch, but of course I'm going to critque. Â
I think their lunch buffet is quite a bit smaller than Meridian Street, but not the price. (go figure) Â (I'm going to call them "lil sista' ", like I do w/Harry & Izzy's related to St. Elmos) Â There is less of each, such as salads, veggie dishes & entrees. Â They did have some of my fav's, such as Tika Masala, Tandoori Chic, veggie rice, Pakora (fried veggies), naan, tamarind sauce, & gulab jamun (honey balls). Â The Daal Curry was missing the daal (lentils), I missed the spinach paneer, & I really missed the entree of either goat or lamb. Â They had neither. Â All in all we enjoyed everything and will be going back. Â Location to your living quarters says alot!
