Ambrosia

This lounge is a refreshing change from the other bars in South Kihei.    It is primarily a Martini Bar... weren't they popular about 8 years ago?     Now the trend seems to be Bourbon Bars.     Regardless, the place does have some atmosphere in an area that seems to lack atmosphere.    

The night that I went there was one large group that pretty much filled the room.   There was live music and a big screen above the bar that was playing a movie of naked women dancing in shadow.    I ordered a nice glass of wine and enjoyed myself before checking out the rest of the neighborhood.  

If you want to enjoy a drink in a more relaxed atmosphere this is the place I would recommend!

The bar is nicely dimly lit.  The bartender places several different candles around the bar and tables so enhance the mood.

I consider this place to be more toward the lounge side than just a bar.  Although the place is rather small, it has a great appeal.

The bartenders have always been friendly and always willing to make or suggest different drinks.

The TVs are often playing some nostalgic movie or classic cartoons. Makes for an enjoyable time with friends and meeting new friends.

I believe Sunday's are the busiest as well as Wednesday's so be prepared for standing room only.

They often have a small band or solo-singer there.

Great place to wind-down the night with a martini.

Went in on a Sunday night to see what this place was all about.  I believe its the only bar with an alternative night on the island.

Atmosphere:
Very tiny room.  High ceilings makes the space feel bigger than it is.  Very dim lighting.  Cool stone counter bar with a huge TV screen as the backdrop, sofas and even a dancefloor are crammed into this intimate space.  The stone motif continues by climbing up the walls to the ceiling.  Bathrooms are right outside the bar.

Drinks:
They have happy hour all day & night on Sundays which is great.  Shock Top orange on tap.

Music:
The DJ was good.  Music is current and loud.

Overall:
Nice place to chill on a Sunday night!
