Hot shower after a +10 hour flight? Check
Comfortable couches and chairs? Check
Good food? Check
For the modest price of $50/day you can access all this and continue the bliss for a full 24 hours. Or you can get the membership if you are a frequent traveler.
I decide a long time ago that those $50 were very well invested in this place.
I loved this Admirals Club - there was a fantastic sunny room and those of us who were there all voted unanimously against the drawing of the blinds (very proactive staff, intent on keeping vampires happy, apparently). Â Super friendly bar staff make up awesome lemon drops. Â There was even a promotion going on for American Airlines "Aadvantage" Visa card holders and I got a little swag bag of goodies. Â Most of the little freebie snacks are not vegan friendly (cookies, pastries) but they do have fruit (not labeled as organic or local). The seating is comfortable and everything is clean - this was a really great place to hang out!
Review Source:Just went to Paris & it's a wonderful quiet place to work, free wifi as well as computers you can use. Â Free drinks from house coffee to house wine. Â The club in Paris was great with a continental breakfast and do it yourself mixed drinks. Â Many other clubs have small kitchens for meals you can also buy if the free snacks & apples are not enough for you. A great place to "chill" in relaxation especially if you have to wait on your plane.
Review Source:Staff are great, very proactive. This is one of four (five?) clubs at DFW - somehow my flights are usually out of terminal C so this is where I go for:
* flight check-in, usually checking on upgrade status
* restroom visits - they're clean & bright
* water/coffee
* QUIET
* comfortable chair for the wait until the next flight.
I tend to prefer the Terminal D Club if given a choice; however, compared to the other Admiral's clubs of the world, this one is nice because it is quite spacious; you're pretty much never crowded, even if you arrive with several people. If you're connecting in C, it's well worth the visit and pretty centrally located in the middle of the terminal. Also, the paid food selection is not bad if you're wanting to grab something to go for your next flight.
Review Source:Comfortable and not so crowded place to hang out while you wait for your flight. You can grab a bite to eat or have a drink. They serve complimentary coffee, juice, muffins fruit, cookies. They have a cute area for kids where they show cartoons and have computer games, books and toys to play with. Â The staff will assist you if your flight is delayed or cancelled etc.
Review Source:This is one of the nicer (non-flagship) American Airlines Admirals clubs that I have visited. Some of it's favored characteristics are subjective, but it is relatively spacious and quiet even when moderately busy.
*There are showers available here (Terminal C club)
+Plenty of seating and power-outlets
+Showers & nicer restrooms
+some (gratis) snacks and a lounge/restaurant
+TVs in some of the sections with news or sports
This location also has some of the more informed AA staff and plenty of areas to relax or finish up some work in. There are also a few separate (closed door) rooms if you really need some solitary space.
Beware of American Airlines deceptive and dishonest AAdvantage award travel program.
When I have attempted to actually use the AAdvantage program, however, I have repeatedly been disappointed.
I was shocked to find out that AA actually charges $75 per flight to use the "loyalty" program to travel. $150 round trip. I understand that AA has to charge members for security fees, but if this is "award" why all the other costs?
American also charges an additional $100 each way if I book within a certain number of days? This charge is a penalty, not award travel.
So, in fact, I wind up paying $350 for a trip that was supposed to be "Advantage" travel.
AA promotions say that it takes 37,500 miles for a first class flight in the United States. I call to book a vacation and, another surprise, I find out that that the 37,500 mile seats are sold out until August (8 months from now) so I will have to use 75,000 miles. Eight months?? The airline should either charge 37,500, or 75,000, but give only one honest number.
The dishonest, false advertising about this programs leads consumers to believe that travel is an "award" and that you can actually use the program when you want. Neither is true.
Not bad at all. Â The bar (take a right at the long hallway after checking in and walk all the way to the end) has Shiner Bock on tap (for $6 a pint), there's more than ample comfortable seating throughout the club, lots of great natural light, and the staff are all friendly and helpful. Â Certainly beats waiting for a flight out in the terminal.
