The Back Porch Grill and Tavern

Note that this is a karaoke bar and it is very smokey inside. The entrance goes into the bar and the restaurant is an adjoining room to the left where the smoke isn't that bad. I ordered the chicken fried steak and it was the best I ever had; I could have sworn it was steak! However my side of broccoli was frozen. Not cold, but frozen through and through. The waiter replaced it, but by then I was finished with my meal.

Never had been there until last night.  If you like a totally laid back, old style country dive bar, this is the place. Had live music that was right up in your grill, band was good, and the drinks where strong as the smoke that lingers in the whole bar. Plan on burning your clothes when you get home, and if you don't smoke you might want to at this place just to fight back!

At first it was a much older crowd, but as the night went on a few young ones showed up to enjoy the place for late night last call. No way to really rate this place, as its perfect for what it is. I did not try the food, but my friend had some of the nacho's with beef brisket. They enjoyed it. Service was pretty good, and everyone was friendly. Might try an after work happy hour here, play some golden tee and relax with a pack of  Marlboro Red's...lol..

Not as much a restaurant, but more of a real country western honky tonk with good food.  Good place to grab a burger or chicken fried steak...but if this is what you're seeking, you can find better elsewhere...but not in this kind of atmosphere.  Here the wait staff is neighborly and the bar tender will want to know your name.  Here is where local talent, the owner and people sitting next to you grab a mike and sing until you're tired of two stepping.  They fill up the week with oipen mike night and kareoke, but come by on a Friday or Saturday and hear some graet local performers.

Another nice thing is the bands start early.  It's nice not to have to wait until  9 or 10pm to hear live music.

One warning, while they do have a no-smoking room, all of the activity is happening in the smoking area.
