nice cool dark wooden vibe, valet parking if desired (shares parking area with 2-3 other busy restaurants) - crab cakes were good - non-standard presentation with pineapple pico, interesting - wines by the glass are very good - we had the Cambria Syrah, which paired nicely with our entrees - the spinach strawberry salad, upgraded to include grilled salmon, was very good - included candied pecans and blue cheese crumbles and was served with a maple raspberry (low fat) dressing - the salad was much bigger than it appeared - my companion's chicken breast and garlic mashed potatoes were very good as well - service was excellent  - private rooms are available, good to know for small parties such as birthday, graduation or even a business dinner
Review Source:We have had several dinning experiences at Winewood. Our last was so bad for me that every time by husband goes through a list of restaurants, coming to Winewood...it makes me cringe telling him "That isn't going happen!"
The ambiance as others have pointed out is quite nice but bring a sweater because they tend to keep the temp on the chilly side. Â The waitstaff seems attentive but that is all I can that is positive about our experiences. Â Out of the last 3 times times we have eaten at Winewood, each time of those times our food has not been "properly cooked. Â One of those occasions, my step-daughter's salmon was completely raw having to be sent back 3 times. Even the last attempt at trying to cook it, it was still not fully cooked but she so hungry and the rest of her food was cold...she gave up trying to get them to fix it. Â The waiter felt so bad he brought us all a free dessert. Â He was getting upset with the kitchen staff for sending out the food like it was. Â We didn't feel his being attentive to our poor food was being a reflection of tip put given that we had to send the food back that many times...we were surprised a manager didn't ask what was going on with the food. Â The fish looked like was sushi! Â
Our next meal a lunch, my husband and I had together....my salad was so bland that I couldn't finish it and his burger was so burnt without flavoring he didn't finish it. Â
Our LAST AND FINAL ATTEMPT: Â This last time we were in the restaurant my shrimp dish was not cooked! Â It was so bad I couldn't eat my meal. Â It was the chef's special served with orzo, which you would think they would get right. The waiter did ask if he could send it back. Honestly, I was so upset that it was now our third time dinning here in a row that we had this experience I told him "No". Â Not to mention we were dinning at an off hour, which we like to do to avoid the crowds making us the only table in there at 5:00 pm. Â The kitchen should have no excuses as they weren't under any pressure. Â Â
To make up for the raw shrimp that he could see, Â the waiter wanted to bring me a dessert. Â So I asked for Key Lime pie. Â The waiter brought us not one but two because they were freezer burnt! Â Yep, the "We are so sorry we screwed up pies" were freezer burnt" Â The waiter was mortified!!! Â Needless to say, my husband took my to Main Street Bakery for dessert! Â Â
Given we have had  under-whelming dishes (raw fish that could make you very ill) at Winewood, when there are plenty of other restaurants in the area.  When my husband asks "Where do you want to eat?  "It will NOT be WINEWOOD!.  Coming here just for Mac and Cheese doesn't do it for me (besides, I can't eat gluten) Even my husband found his Mac and cheese this past dinning experience to "be off". Other restaurants also offer the same and most of all they will not give you food poisoning from their uncooked fish. Â
The quality has gone down hill for me.
