nice cool dark wooden vibe, valet parking if desired (shares parking area with 2-3 other busy restaurants) - crab cakes were good - non-standard presentation with pineapple pico, interesting - wines by the glass are very good - we had the Cambria Syrah, which paired nicely with our entrees - the spinach strawberry salad, upgraded to include grilled salmon, was very good - included candied pecans and blue cheese crumbles and was served with a maple raspberry (low fat) dressing - the salad was much bigger than it appeared - my companion's chicken breast and garlic mashed potatoes were very good as well - service was excellent  - private rooms are available, good to know for small parties such as birthday, graduation or even a business dinner

We have had several dinning experiences at Winewood. Our last was so bad for me that every time by husband goes through a list of restaurants, coming to Winewood...it makes me cringe telling him "That isn't going happen!"

The ambiance as others have pointed out is quite nice but bring a sweater because they tend to keep the temp on the chilly side.  The waitstaff seems attentive but that is all I can that is positive about our experiences.  Out of the last 3 times times we have eaten at Winewood, each time of those times our food has not been "properly cooked.  One of those occasions, my step-daughter's salmon was completely raw having to be sent back 3 times. Even the last attempt at trying to cook it, it was still not fully cooked but she so hungry and the rest of her food was cold...she gave up trying to get them to fix it.  The waiter felt so bad he brought us all a free dessert.  He was getting upset with the kitchen staff for sending out the food like it was.   We didn't feel his being attentive to our poor food was being a reflection of tip put given that we had to send the food back that many times...we were surprised a manager didn't ask what was going on with the food.  The fish looked like was sushi!

Our next meal a lunch, my husband and I had together....my salad was so bland that I couldn't finish it and his burger was so burnt without flavoring he didn't finish it.

Our LAST AND FINAL ATTEMPT:   This last time we were in the restaurant my shrimp dish was not cooked!  It was so bad I couldn't eat my meal.   It was the chef's special served with orzo, which you would think they would get right. The waiter did ask if he could send it back. Honestly, I was so upset that it was now our third time dinning here in a row that we had this experience I told him "No".  Not to mention we were dinning at an off hour, which we like to do to avoid the crowds making us the only table in there at 5:00 pm.  The kitchen should have no excuses as they weren't under any pressure.

To make up for the raw shrimp that he could see,  the waiter wanted to bring me a dessert.  So I asked for Key Lime pie.  The waiter brought us not one but two because they were freezer burnt!  Yep, the "We are so sorry we screwed up pies" were freezer burnt"  The waiter was mortified!!!  Needless to say, my husband took my to Main Street Bakery for dessert!

Given we have had  under-whelming dishes (raw fish that could make you very ill) at Winewood, when there are plenty of other restaurants in the area.  When my husband asks "Where do you want to eat?  "It will NOT be WINEWOOD!.  Coming here just for Mac and Cheese doesn't do it for me (besides, I can't eat gluten) Even my husband found his Mac and cheese this past dinning experience to "be off". Other restaurants also offer the same and most of all they will not give you food poisoning from their uncooked fish.

The quality has gone down hill for me.

thank you yelp for another great find ! my sister wanted her bachelorette in grapevine so i made reservations here for 8. at the last minute i had to change it to 12 rowdy girls and the hostesses said okay without even blinking an eye. very nice atmosphere and our server josh was AMAZING. he gave lots of recommendations, let us try wines and knew when to check on us without being too much. the girls ordered everything from salmon salad to ribeye to pork ribs and ahi tuna. for sides we had fries, lemon risotto and mac n cheese. everyone had a great time and enjoyed their food, thanks winewood!

Winewood is excellent. The ambiance is classy. The service staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. I had the ribs... So good! i also had the Gouda mac and cheese. and personally i did not really like it. The flavors did not blend well for my tastes. liquors. My husband had the steak and he loved it. it was cooked perfectly. The wine list is extensive. i mean any price range you can think of from many countries.. Their cocktails for some reason never really appeal to me ( form the cocktail menu) but whenever i have a drink there it is strong and flavorful. always top shelf . I have yet to have a bad experience there. Always pleasant and relaxing.

Ever since I checked out the menu and saw they have gouda mac & cheese, I had been dying to go try out Winewood. I finally got the husband on board and I ended up loving it for so much more than the delicious, cheesy pasta dish of my dreams.

It's beautiful inside, with lots of wood and fireplaces, but somehow is also modern. The staff was ridiculously friendly - everyone from the hostess to the busboy was kind and personable. They had a great selection of wines with something for every budget. And they had some really interesting cocktails - nothing crazy, but nice twists on old classics. My husband had the whiskey smash which was tasty without being too frou-frou.

My husband also had a love affair with the rotisserie chicken dish he got. Being a vegetarian, I didn't sample it, but he was clearly in love with it. So we can't wait to go back - hooray!

Winewood is a fantastic, new-american style restaurant. The food is delicious and they have a very reasonably priced, extensive wine list. My wife and I have been here a number of times and we are always raving about it to our friends. They're food is delicious and I've tried a number of different things that are always good. Their ribs are the best I've ever had. The atmosphere is very modern but still cozy and great servers. Decent bartenders with a good liquor and beer selection if wine is not your drink of choice. Of course, being called WINEwood, they have a very nice wine selection and their staff are all very knowledgeable about each of them. I'd recommend the ribs, the smoked gouda and apple-wood bacon mac & cheese and a nice red pairing suggestion.

I was here for my third visit and it was again a very good experience. Our party had sea bass, pork chops, salmon and a southwestern salad. The only complaint came from my son who said he didn't get enough of the salmon. The wine was excellent and paired very well with the food. It was extremely crowded on Mother's Day (a good sign) yet we still had great service. I recommend experiencing Wildwood and make up your own mind - you likely will be surprised.

We had a brunch at Winewoods last Sunday morning. The restaurant was not very crowded and the food was great. The blinin specials were disappointing, a bit watered down with very little peach flavor. Our service at times was great and at other times, a bit slow.
overall, this is a great venue and would recommend it for the ambience

I completely enjoyed this restaurant.  My wine was excellent - a nice big red and the tenderloin bruschetta is TO DIE FOR.  I actually ordered another plate of it as my meal - it is that good.  BUT the dessert - the Brookie - you MUST get it or go unfulfilled in life.  I am actually going back to Dallas in June and have already told my husband that I will take him here.  Really lovely food and atmosphere.  This is not a small place - it is a fairly large and trendy restaurant.

All I can say is show up on am empty stomach because the food is so good you wont know when to stop eating.  The customer service is excellent to say the least because when we asked where our waiter was because we were in a rush we ended up getting a free appetiser and dessert which they insisted on even when we said its OK.  This is definately must try that's every bit worth the cost.

Great food.  Good atmosphere (Very similar to Houstons).  Reasonably priced entrees.  I had the Hickory Salmon & Asparagus - It was light yet filling.

They also carried my favorite red wine, Belle Glos.

We enjoyed Easter Brunch at a courtyard table with our dog this year and really enjoyed ourselves. I made a reservation on OpenTable and followed up to see if they allowed small dogs...lucky for us, they did and were so welcoming to us when we arrived.  Our server was very nice and efficient too.  The french omelette was delicious and I enjoyed it with a refreshing glass of sauvignon blanc.  Love that they didn't mark up their prices for Easter too!

Took a group of 12 here this week and service was very good, did a great job accommodating our group when it grew by several people.  Menu was nice and had something for everyone, decent seafood and steaks, definitely above average.

Winewood is a great restaurant. The food if flavorful and fresh. Good assortment of dishes.
We ordered salads for lunch recently and they were all delicious. California Cobb, Hearty Market Blend and the Flame Kissed Tuna. The apricot infused iced tea is great too.
When I went for dinner recently, we ordered the Tenderlion Bruschetta and the Seared Ahi for appetizers. The bruschetta is to die for. Just the right amount of saltiness and sweetness. We also ordered the Scottish Salmon, Crab Cakes and the Ribeye Filet. None disappointed.
I recommend Winewood for both a delicious lunch and dinner.

On a side note, I have a business that interacts with them. They are always willing to work with us and accommodate the people we bring in. Kudos to Winewood!

I was excited to try this place but was disappointed. My husband and I split the calamari appetizer, crab cake entrée and seared tuna entrees. We both commented on the calamari and how fat and thick it was. I like the smaller, circle shaped type..just a personal preference. The crab cakes were served with a remoulade which tasted very much like straight mayonnaise. We were hoping for a sauce with some brighter notes; citrus or spicy? The cakes themselves, while not too full of filling/bread crumbs was really shredded crab...I always hope for more large lumps, especially considering the price. The tuna was served with an orzo which we both thought did not match the delicate flavor of the tuna. The orzo was more Mediterranean and the tuna more Japanese. It was a weird match that didn't marry well together. We didn't finish either entree's and decided against dessert which was unimaginative: key lime pie, strawberry shortcake, etc. We will probably visit the other restaurants (Mi Dia, Fireside, Bob's) if we're going to venture this way.

Superb night! I met up w 5 business associates when they landed, the hostess, Sara, gave us a choice of seating, the ahi tuna was some of the best I ever had ; my guests had steak and loved it equally; our wine was excellent and we had a great night .

Our waiter was great, but the service was slow. The crab cakes were only slightly warm when they did come out.  The portions were really small and nothing fancy for the price.  I could have enjoyed some better meals elsewhere for the price of this one.
Even if you were looking for a 'fancy' night out, I would skip this place.
If you do go, the soup was the best part (and cheapest part) of the meal and came out piping hot.

This review follows Bob's Chop House recent review by me. Please look it up. Upon the (very rude) reference to this restaurant, our colleagues from 2 cities thoroughly enjoyed themselves in their crude khakis, sandals, and other casual attire after a long business day working their asses off. Bob's grapevine chop house apparently thought our dress/attire and arrival at 5:45 was not appropriate. Anyways, we thoroughly enjoyed the bar service, the staff and the food after we walked the short distance around the corner to Winewood. We should have come here first. We will recommend this to all our frequent visiting colleagues. After all, we have Ruth's Chris, Donovans, Lou/Mickeys and Flemings to compare Bob's to from the left coast. wait. no. We don't. Winewood is awesome. the bar is raised. Thanks for a great experience. May you be the Mother restaurant in the future!!!!

A very solid 3 - bordering on 4. I had a rather overpriced lunch here with an old work colleague today. The price is what dragged it down :-(.
Still we had some wine, the mac and cheese, a steak salad, the seared tuna salad and a creme brulee. So the meal was a bit OTT too. Aaaah well.
The mac and cheese was pretty darned good. Nice bacon in it. Not much in the way of a gratin crust on top, which I would have liked. As is often the case, it felt as if the macaroni and sauce were having a one night stand in the serving dish, and hadn't developed a full on relationship yet.
The beef in the sald was well prepared - rare like I wanted. But the dressing tasted bottled.
The creme brulee was ecellent. The nap that followed was pretty spectacular too!

The food was delicious and beautifully cooked.  We liked the ambience and the friendly, efficient staff.  Two of our party had the special, 2 small Colorado lamb chops, which were very good, but very  expensive at $42 each.  I doubt we would have ordered had we known the price.  For that reason I doubt that we will return, which is a shame.

Update- a few days after posting this I was contacted by management who asked for more feedback and offered to send me gift cards to use on a later visit.  They obviously care about customers.  Nice gesture.

I've eaten here twice and I am a fan.  Though service and/or food hasn't been perfect, it has been enjoyable and a good experience both times.  Whatever has not been right, the server has done what he/she could to make it right.  Both times my servers knew all the answers to my questions about the menu, and they were well trained, which says a lot.  They might be a little higher priced than what I like to pay typically, but so far it has been worth it to me.

Great environment! We booked a table early through yelp but despite it being busy we probably could have been seated quickly.

The waiter was engaging and helped us pick out several items including the gouda mac & cheese which was great! He also recommended beer and wine which both my wife and I were very pleased with.

She ordered the salmon and I ordered the NY Strip both were amazing and the sides fit each dish perfectly! We don't normally order dessert but we splurged and ordered the Kahlua Chocolate Cake and again it was amazing!

Everything was good and the only reason it got four stars instead of five was because it just simply wasn't the best we had ever had. No real complaints but everything could have been improved slightly.

Good wine selection.  Hot fresh food.  I had the Winewood Cheese Burger (Hickory Grilled Chuck Patty, Sharp Cheddar, House Spread on Toasted Brioche Bun).  Why there has never been a hamburger on brioche in my life before, but it's something that should be made mandatory - yum yum!  Also had the Smoked Gouda Mac & Cheese - another winner!  I love smoked gouda and believe that mac & cheese should be it's own food group, so I was quite pleased with this combination.

Stopped in for a drink and appetizers ~

Pleasantly surprised and pleased. Atmosphere was chill, contemporary, and great lighting. Tuna and tenderloin were excellent.

Bartender/waiter was engaging and professional. Some music and more people would have made this a 4 star.

We stopped for lunch one day, on the spur of the moment because we had heard good things about Winewood.  The good words were deserved.

We enjoyed our leisurely meal.  The restaurant was not crowded, and most of the patrons appeared to be local business people.

Service was fine and not overbearing.

My salmon and broccoli were good.  Salmon was moist and not overdone.  Broccoli was cooked just right.   His pork chop in bourbon sauce quickly disappeared and he also enjoyed the broccoli.  We both joined the clean plate club.  No bread.  No salad.  Not huge portions.  But just right.  Our bill was just over $30.

I would have given this restaurant a 3.5 if I had the choice, but opted to go higher rather than lower because of the ambiance.

Winewood is a nice place to comfortably enjoy a meal and sit and chat, at least when the restaurant is not crowded.

We've been here several more times in the last 6 weeks.  I can't quite give them 4 stars yet, but I've mostly enjoyed the meals.

My daughter now orders the French Dip exclusively & it's delicious with it's gravy-like au jus.  She's also in love with the basil heavy orzo.   I've tried several of the fish dishes, which are small for the price.   The sauces are rather subtle and frankly, underwhelming.  The snapper I had last visit was overcooked.   I once ordered the hamburger, which was great, but should be for $12.

They have new desserts, so we ordered the brownie with caramel and ice cream.  Delicious.

I also enjoy the drinks, which are also pricey, but at least have some booze.

Do not judge a book by its cover.

Wow. Where are all the 4 stars coming from? Last night we had the intensions of going to either Bob's or Mi Dia's for dinner, but they were both on an hour wait, so we wandered over to Winewood. I should've known by their empty dining room and the hostesses' attitude that this was going to be a disappointment.

I've been in the service industry for 15 years and I know the hostess desk can be hectic and sometimes overwhelming. But to have two young, unhappy girls greet you when you walk into an establishment is unacceptable. You are the first experience the customer has, smile and try and be pleasant. Even if you have to fake it.

Our server, Ferry, was fantastic. Attentive, full of smiles and recommendations.

He, the stiff drinks and the beautiful bathrooms were the only highlights of our dining experience. Stiff rum and cokes and great ice tea. Impressively fancy bathrooms with expensive paper towels and soap pumps, but cheap soap. In this business, it is the little things.

The most disappointing aspect of the evening was the fact that I sent back my luke warm and extremely tasteless red snapper. Ferry, our server, was more than willing to take it back to the kitchen, but that was the last we heard of it. No apologies, no inquiries by a manager or anyone else were ever made as to why I sent it back. Really? And far more importantly, no inquiries as to if I would like to replace it with something else. Just shocking.

Obviously it was not on the bill, but the fact that our table was not approached by management and asked why it was sent back, nor inquired if I would like something else - speaks volumes on just how concerned this place is in succeeding, in my opinion.

Our Waldorf salad and spinach dip were average at best. Two pretty easy and safe menu items. Sad but true. The pork tenderloin was tough and overcooked, but we were starving and decided to saw thru it (we were not offered a steak knife and literally had to saw thru the pork with a regular table knife. I'm being knit picky now but the silverware is cheap too. For such a nice finish out, this was a bit surprising). Very disappointing for a place to spend that kind of money on the exterior, yet compromise when it comes to the chef, kitchen and the food. I'd rather walk out of a dirt floored chicken shack having had some delicious grub.

So, if you are in that little nook of restaurants and Bob's and/or Mi Dia's are on a wait, put your name on their list, and then just have a drink at Winewood while you wait.

Great food but service is not up to presumptuous attitudes by staff.

I love the food.   Generally pretty good, sometimes underdone.

The staff is composed of red necks trying to act like they're working in an 'expensive' restaurant.  They could either be friendlier, or they could put a convincing act, but the middle ground leaves you feeling like they're trying too hard.

I'll go once in awhile as long as the taste of the food lasts.

Visited Winewood on a week night with a few work colleagues.  For a first time visit, our experience was positive.    Contrary to some of the other reviews, we experienced great service.  We were seated right away after calling ahead to determine if we needed reservations and had a very attentive server who was both positive and knowledgable re: the menu.

Recommendations from our sampling would include the tenderloin bruschetta, seared ahi tuna and salmon.   The wine list offered plenty to choose from and portions were solid without being overdone.   We were satisfied and did not have a need, nor room  for desert.

Our group decided Winewood merited 4 stars this evening and deserved a positive recommendation.   Other notable mentions were nice bar area and roomy booths.

My friend called ahead, and we still ended up waiting for nearly 45 mins. Not acceptable.

There was a lot of hype over the mac & cheese.

I ordered it. And it was OK. I think the mac & cheese at Panera Bread is way yummier. And not as expensive.

My issue with this place is that I can't justify the cost for eating "Americana" food. I just feel like... it's "Americana" hence.. not imported, right? So why do the prices seem like I'm covering import taxes and tariffs?

    The French Dip was good.

The bummer was the waitress gave me the wrong goodie bag and instead of coming home to a delicious steak sandwich I was really looking forward to eating, I opened up the bag and found some over-hyped mac & cheese.

I'm not completely ruling this place out. But I'm not in a rush to go back.

This was a fabulous evening out with my favorite ladies and the boyfriend. I arrived very late, after 10:30 PM *cough, cough*, nonetheless, the staff was extremely accommodating. My waiter, Josiah was very pleasant and attentive. He made sure I had what I needed without being intrusive or impatient with our late party of six.

After I finished my Ahi tuna and the spinach dip appetizers, we all still sat around enjoying our get-together. In fact we closed the restaurant down at 12:30 AM. I can't remember the last time I felt so comfortable and pampered at a restaurant before. I will definitely be back for some real food seeing that the service is spectacular.

Came to Grapevine on a 'mini-vacation' to see ICE and stay at the Gaylord. The family always tasks me with picking the food destination. After careful research, I found Winewood.

I made our reservation through the Yelp! app and was sent a confirmation through email immediately. So far, so great. Love it when it's easy!

We got to the restaurant a little late, but the hostess was completely cool about it. We sat immediately in one of their spacious booths. Our waiter Jason cane by with bottled water and a smile.

The wife and MIL split the Waldorf salad and the surf 'n turf (8oz filet and 4 grilled shrimp). The kid ordered the chicken finger appetizer, and I got the grilled trout. The steak was fork tender and cooked perfectly. My trout was incredible. I honestly have no complaints about food. Perfect!

We live less than an hour away from Winewood, so we will for sure be coming back! Thank you Jason and Winewood for the great dinner.

Found out about this new restaurant on Yelp and thought tonight would be a good chance to try it out (they said they've been open about 6 weeks). Good decision.

The atmosphere is a nice blend of casual and comfortable. The place doesn't feel at all pretentious, but is quite nice. The multiple rows of tables in the middle section felt to me a little chainish, but we were seated on an outer row and the space was nice.

The one area I would like to see an improvement is the wine list.  For a restaurant with "wine" in the name, I would expect a little more variety. There was a decent mix of lower price, mid price and upper priced bottles in all categories, but the selection was a little thin for someone looking to discover something different.

The service was outstanding. Brian took great care of us and and steered us in the right direction many times.

As for the food, we had the Tenderloin Bruschetta and really liked it. The bread was a tad on the tough side, but the tenderloin was thin and moist and the overall flavor was really good.  For entrees, my wife had the scallops (they were a special tonight, but the waiter said they are being added to the menu soon) and thought the portion was perfect for her. 3 scallops perfectly cooked with couscous.  I had the lemon scented Ahi Tuna and really enjoyed it. The tuna was perfectly seared and the balsamic was a nice complement. Loved the marble potatoes, but could have done with a few less veggies (mainly squash). There was nothing wrong the veggies, the portion just seemed a little heavy for the lightness of tuna and small potatoes.

We ended with the peach cobbler, in which the peaches were very fresh and firm and loved the cinnamon sugar sprinkled on the crust.

Winewood wouldn't qualify for an ultra-romantic night or special business dinner, but for a really pleasant night out to talk and laugh in a more casual atmosphere, but great food, this is a top pick.

NOT to be confused with Wildwood, Winewood is a welcome and much-needed addition to Grapevine. The boyfriend and I frequently eat at Fireside and have been following the development of Winewood. As soon as it was open we were there....and yummmm is all we can say.

If you want to eat somewhere nice, but don't want to drive to Dallas or plop down a ton of cash at Bobs, Winewood is a great option. Yes they have wine, but they also have steaks, fish, huge salads, mouthwatering sides, super fresh desserts and OH MY glorious cocktails. A lot on the menu is made with farm-fresh fruits & veggies. They even distill their own water in-house. Ohh lala.

I had the grilled salmon....it was perfectly cooked and laid on top of a fabulous orzo pasta/grilled veggie mixture that tasted like the best bacon I'd ever had. The boyfriend let me try some of his grilled asparagus...it tasted like a flame. Seriously. Like fire. It was SO good.

Winewood is perfect for a romantic dinner, a fun meal with friends, or even a quick cheese plate and glass of wine before you head somewhere else for the night. The atmosphere is amazing....and wow this place is HUGE! It would be great for private parties.

Do yourself a favor and try Winewood ASAP. Don't forget to get a cocktail (I highly recommend the melon one)...and don't pass on dessert. You'll regret it if you do.

I can't wait to go back and try something new.

Loved it!  Winewood is a sister restaurant to Bob's Steak & Chop which is one of my wife and my favorite restaurants anywhere.  Winewood is in the same shopping complex and when Julie learned that they were doing a soft opening in advance of their regularly announced opening we were eager to try it.  We were not disappointed.

The staff was unbelievable!  My water glass never got below half full ever.  There was always someone to take away a plate that we were finished with but there was never any pressure to finish a course.

I got the oyster's rockafeller.  They were good, though I have had better.  My wife won't do oysters so she didn't try them and I think she was impressed that I would.  I though they could have been cooked a little longer and I would have liked a little more cheese on them but they were good enough to get again.  And they're SO hard to find.

Our steaks were wonderful.  My rib eye was tender and perfectly seasoned.  The wine list looks great but one of us was going to have to drive home so I let her do the drinking.

One of Julie's favorite drinks is a Pear Martini.  We've tried them everywhere and nothing compares to Bobs.  But since this is a sister restaurant to Bob's she asked the waiter if they could make her one.  He took the order and almost immediately the bar manager arrived to ask what exactly we wanted.  When we described Bob's margarita, he went next door and got the recipe.  They already had everything they needed to make it.  And it was as good as Julie hoped!

Afterward we met the GM of Winewood, the GM of Bob's and Winewood's district manager.  They were eager to know how our dining experience was and asked lots of questions.  I was impressed that they would take the time to make sure that their customers are satisfied.

There's shouldn't be any challenge with parking.  They've got lots all around the store.  And I suspect you could vallet at Bob's if you wanted to.

I know we'll go back here at some point.  They have a chicken cordon bleu that looks yummy, and I am eager to try the artizinal cheese plate.  I can't wait.
