This place is now called Mr. Beez.  It is still owned and operated by the same gentleman who owns the Parke Hotel and Conference center.  You will often find the owner on the premises, and tonight was no exception.
The bar is non-descript and could use a makeover, although it is very new.  This place could be really cool with a relatively modest investment.
The food is ok.  The owner tells me he has one of the best chefs in Bloomington, but sadly it does not show through in the bar fare.  That said, I enjoy their fish and chicken sandwiches.  Their salads are fresh and have more ingredients than the standard house salads served at similar places.  Price is right.
If they could broadcast ISU road games and advertise as such, this place would be hopping.  I'd like to see this place succeed.

My wife and I went here for Sunday brunch because it was attached to our hotel. The brunch was one of the reasons I chose this hotel.

The brunch had two tables of casseroles, breakfast foods, and salad. There was another table with two carvings (ham and beef) along w/ an omelet bar and waffles. There was also an entire table of desserts with a giant "vat" of dippable chocolate.

Pros - Variety of foods - a couple very good ones including shrimp cocktail and a casserole with ?feta? cheese. The dessert bar was enormous including fresh pineapple and strawberry.

Cons - No foods blew me away.

I mainly sampled everything. A few were good and a few were bad, but I would recommend this to anyone. But $16 is a a lot for brunch.
