I work in the Rush building but I won't be going back to this Au Bon Pain, the food is good the coffee is great but the staff is so rude - except for the check out ladies - that I will not spend any more money here.  Go to the cafeteria they have a coffee shop where they will make you a good latte and the ladies there are super sweet.

The poor rating isn't because of the food- they have a pretty good selection- the Caprese sandwich is actually really good, the cupcakes are sinful, but their service is below par.

The customer service the sandwich ladies provide leave much to be desired- I'm sorry that I didn't know that I needed a ticket to order a sandwich- the polite thing to do is acknowledge me and tell me so.

Greeting and smiling at customers all day is hard. I get it.
Everyone has their own problems. I get it.
Sometimes customers can be really annoying. I get it.

That's no excuse for your lack of manners and customer service.

Also, it's really pricey- I doubt I'd spend $15 on lunch here again.

Only + is that they label everything with calories- which has stopped me from purchasing that buttery soft croissant that's 400 calories.

The good thing about ABP- it's open 24 hours in the hospital.

The bad thing about ABP- it's the only thing open for 24 hours in the hospital.

I will give you that some of the soups are tasty (but please don't tell me the calorie count), that I really appreciate the variety for the salad bad (unfortunately it's not open when I work nights), or that I can refill my coffee cup for just over a dollar.

However, for a place that is supposed to be know for its sandwiches, baked goods, and premade salads, they're lacking. The sandwiches seem to have lukewarm ingredients (I'd rather have cold chicken than chicken heated for 30 seconds in the microwave) and I feel like the baked goods are always a bit dried out.

Maybe it's just because this location is located in a hospital, but I've had pretty good hospital Einstein's or Panera!
