If you're starving and in the mood for so-so pizza in a gigantic portion for cheap, COME TO BACCI! The pizza is just okay, but you really can't beat the jumbo slice and free pop special. For $5, you can get a ginormous piece of pizza (cheese, pepperoni, and sausage, that is; the special, meat lovers, and veggie slices cost $5.50 each), plus a pop. I usually don't order anything besides water to keep costs down, so I'm torn between thinking that this is a bargain (like a "free" drink), or if I'm being forced to pay more than I want to for the pop. Either way, I'm ultimately a fan of getting the drink.
Now, let's talk about that pizza. First of all, I always get cheese, so I can't comment on the meat or veggies. The crust is dense but thin, and the pizza itself can be floppy because it is relatively thin, which should be unsurprising given how huge the pieces are. I have never finished a slice in a sitting, so I usually cut it in half and make two separate meals out of it. I've seen both boys and grown men easily eat the whole slice, so take that for what it is. The sauce is bland, making for an overall plain pizza with no "kick" to it. That being said, there is hardly any sauce at all, which I dislike in my pizzas. The makeup of a Bacci slice is like this: very thin crust (but not light crunchy perfect; "dull" is the word that comes to mind when I think of this crust), almost nonexistent amount of sauce, a layer of cheese that congeals quickly as you eat it. I know the pizza sounds unimpressive, and it is. But the slice is HUGE, and it's still pizza that's nearby.
I miss the days when the special was a big honking piece of pizza and a pop for a mere $3, but I get that the price had to go up to keep up with the times. Maybe the quality is better since my last visit, so I'll be sure to stop by again sometime soon!
Cant believe how bad this pizza has gotten ... & now they charge for crush pepper & cheese to eat in ..how cheap can they go..looks like theyre trying yo pay off all the plasmas they recently got ...but c'mon 50 cents for hot sauce & 25 cents for a lil packet of crushed pepper gtfo.never coming back baccis was way better before sad its gone the way it is now
Review Source:I used to deliver for them part time back in '06!
I give them a 4/5 because of many reasons. Â Although the staff were great people and hard workers, the beloved $3 slice and drink combo has been long gone. Â Why, you ask? Â The $3-to-$5 jump was made to bring you better quality product. Â I'll be honest (and Dom may be upset about this) but they didn't have top quality stuff prior to 2007. Â I mean, it wasn't low-grade stuff but it wasn't top-dollar, either. Â Now you're getting top-dollar product for just $2 more to your total. Â Plus the entire decor has improved and adds more to the dining experience. Â
The price adjustment also adds to the new slices they have. Â I saw a Bacci Special and Meat Lovers, etc., there's your $2! Â I have no complaints about Bacci (in Berwyn) and have been coming there since 2000. Â I am even grateful to have been a part of the company. Â
Just remember to be kind and tip your drivers. Â Especially, you, Cicero. Â
Now, Bacci on Addison on the other hand...
we ordered a pizza from here last week and it was DISGUSTING!! I have never ordered a pizza from here ive only had the pizza slices when around there & the last time I've had baccis was last summer 1st it took a hour n 20min to deliver a large pizza w/fries on a sat. Afternoon (2pm) ...1st bite I said why is it so salty as I eat that then another I realize what it tastes like  cheap spaghetti sauce yuck what a waste of $
Review Source:Sorry Bacci, my last order was last week. Â I understand the order I made was put into the computer wrong, and no one noticed it until I came to pick it up and said something. Â It wasn't the gross shrimp and spinach pizza you gave me for waiting 15 minutes while the spinach and mushroom I ordered was cooking. Â It wasn't the fact that your deep dish is really just thick crust pizza. Â It was, after all this trouble, that you didn't put the garlic crust on that I ordered and paid for. Â That was 1 to many things to make me want to come back. Â Quality control would be better for your business than buy 1 get 1 free.
Review Source:Huge pizza for a great price. Love going here to fill up on pizza and maybe have a bit left over for a snack later. I give it 4 stars because the fountain drinks are sometimes on the stale, so I stick to the bottled soda. Location is right on Ogden, easily accessible. 20 bucks can feed the whole family with drinks, definitely gotta love that.
Review Source:Consistently fast, fresh, and friendly. Two ginormous slices with a soda for $6 is quite the deal; the pie is really quite good!
Was at Bacci on two occasions and moved thru a huge line of customers quickly, got fresh, hot pizza, very friendly staff, and a genuinely excellent experience. Â Parking lot is terrible, though. Â Try street parking on Home...but be speedy so you don't get a ticket!
I can't believe it took me this long to write a review of Bacci! Â I'm only giving four stars because the Jumbo Slice (and soda) isn't great pizza, and the cheese only borders on not good pizza. Â But that's what my kids love - cheese only. Â Recently, I've been getting the special pizzas (Saturdays only??) or sausage. Â They are MUCH better - maybe it's because they have more sauce? Â I like pizza with a lot of sauce. Â The other menu items that I've tried have all been good. Â Lately I tried the fried calamari. Â At $8 it's not a great bargain, but for the amount you get it's in line. Â The calamari was the way I like it, with a bit of a chew to it. Â The breading was nice - not as heavy as some others. Â Nice local joint.
Review Source:Bacci is a Chicago "chain" pizzaria known for their giagantic thin crust slices of pizza to go. Â Bacci has been around since 1996 and have opened up several locations over the last 12 years. Â Maybe because Bacci has branched out from their Taylor St. location is why their 'za isn't quite as good as rival Taylor St. neighbor, Damenzo's. Â However, that's just a hypothesis.
But, if you need a pizza fix and cannot make it to Taylor St., leave it up to Bacci to provide consistent and affordable gargantuan slices of pizza at its many locations throughout Chicagoland.
I once ate my slice on a park bench carefully paired with a bottle of Night Train. Â It was most choice!
If you are hungry and broke, your at the right place. They cut a 26" pie in 8 slices. And for your pocket change you also get a pop. On the 1 to 10 scale it's about dead center. But the $3.50 puts it over the edge. The rest of their food is o.k. Great value alternative to the big 3. M, B, W.
