Went to Bahama Breeze on 7/24 with 16 of my co workers for a farewell luncheon for me. We tried to make reservations ahead of time since we would be such a large crowd, but weren't able to do so. No worries though, we got there are were seated within 10 minutes. Our waitress was awesome. She was VERY knowledgeable about the menu, explained all the specials, and answered a ton of questions we all had. The menu is HUGE. Took me a while to decide what I wanted because everything looked so good. I went with the Mahi and Shrimp Lemongrass Rice Bowl. Seriously one of the best dishes I've ever had. It was FULL of shrimp and Mahi Mahi, with shitake mushrooms, bok choy, red peppers, and snap peas. The atmosphere was beautiful. They have an awesome patio that is covered to shield you from the sun with a beautiful bar. Looks like they have some pretty awesome happy hour specials too- $2/$3 drafts and half priced appetizers.
Out of the 17 of us that attended the luncheon, there was not one mistake in the orders, not one complaint about the food or service, and everyone's bill was correct when it came time to leave. Â I will DEFINITELY be headed back to this place time and time again.
We were huge fans of Bahama Breeze in Pennsylvania...and we've been anticipating the opening of this location for a long time. The menu wasn't quite as intriguing as we remembered - but the food was good. The Banana Nut Bread Supreme dessert was 100% as to-die-for as the first time we had it.
The service left a LOT to be desired in my opinion. It seems like they hired an entire waitstaff of kids who have never waited tables before. They were all super friendly & trying...but I saw 5+ dishes get delivered to the wrong tables...which made everything a little slow and clustered. I'm sure in time they'll get it together and it will be a great spot!
My brother and I went on their first Saturday night. Â We usually dislike the chain restaurants, but the menu looked interesting so we thought we'd give it a try.
There were a few service related blips, like with the seating, or when the server got our appetizer order wrong (we ordered two ahi tuna stacks, she thought we only ordered one). But the errors were corrected efficiently and friendly.
Food was great. Â The ahi stacks were great, with corn salsa and cucumbers. Â The seafood chowder, full of seafood! Â We had the jerk chicken pasta and grilled chicken entrees. Â Excellent!
Our server was Autumn and she was great! Â The place was so hectic but she was awesome throughout. Â We'll ask for her next time we go in. Â Which will be soon.
Four of us went to opening night and really enjoyed everything. Several years ago we discovered Bahama Breeze in Towson, MD in a somewhat unique location and loved the food. Our server recommended we check out the Tampa location if we were ever there. We not only did but became regulars when in Tampa several times a year. Really happy they are now in Virginia Beach. Food, service, and décor great! By the way, their website offers an Island Insiders benefits program
Review Source:My dining experience here was awesome. I've dined at Bahama Breeze in Atlanta when I lived there, it was one of my favorite places there. So I was super stoked when I saw that there was going to be one in Towncenter.
The food was really good! We had the Fish Tacos with the cinnamon sweet potatoes, they use Mahi Mahi as the fish filling rather than the Talapia, making this the best fish tacos I have had to my recollection. I got the Seafood Paella, this was super delicious as well, made of shrimp, scallops, mussels, chicken and sausage mixed with yellow rice. Each bite contained each item evenly. I washed my meal down with the Aruba Red, the house amber lager on draft. It was a very good beer kind of reminded me of Red Stripe.
The service was very good. Our server, Autumn, was very attentive and kept our drinks full. The manager came by and talked with us for a bit as well. You can call ahead but cannot make reservations. The Caribbean atmosphere was pretty cool and was on point with the cool decor and mix of Island music played by a live band and on the stereo.
I will definitely come back here and recommend that you stop by and enjoy the great service, delicious food and awesome atmosphere.
Went to the soft opening for this bahama breeze and was pleasantly surprised at how well prepared they were. Â The servers were excellent and very knowledgable about the food. Â They offered some excellent suggestions for drinks and dinner. Â
My wife got the almond crusted mahi and I had the seafood paella. Â Both dishes were great. Â My wife's mahi was very well cooked (done, but not dry) and the yellow rice they served with it pair very nicely. My paella was excellent. Â It included scallops. shrimp, mussels, talapia (which i am usually not a fan of, but it worked well with this dish), and chorizo over yellow rice. Â I'm not sure what the sauce was that in it, but it tasted great.
Overall the whole experience was great and I would definitely recommend giving this place a shot. I know i will definitely be back. Â
P.S. Try the Caribbean Magic - this drink tasted great and had a little kick to it.
