So glad I tried this place out. I love shopping at Whole Foods, but I never stopped in at the bar side, until yesterday.
First off, I love the modern meets antique-y decor. For a commercial place they made it feel kind of homey. It's a small space, but enough if you avoid the rush. (come an hour or two before closing during the week to avoid the crowd)
For alcohol The Porch offers craft beer, some from local breweries, and wine. Prices are GOOD. Believe me I am an avid craft beer drinker and it can get pricey. But for a pint of Porch Ale it was $3. My husband got a pint of arrogant bastard for $4. You can't beat that. You also can get a growler of their beers. Another plus is that they rotate their beers daily. Each day they have a new selection! I love it.
In addition to their beer and wine, they serve coffee drinks and tea. It's like a better starbucks.
You can also order food. They have daily specials. Didn't order anything this time, but I will be back
What's there not to like?
Stop here for some grub and brews every time I go shopping at Whole Foods. They have a fairly good selection of rotating craft beers on tap and a bottle selection as well. The menu seems to be rotating as well, because the awesome fish tacos I had last night were not on the menu last time I was there.
Review Source:My first experience dining at the Porch was great! And based on that experience alone, I would have rated them with 4 stars. However, when I returned to the Porch a second time and for the same salad as what I ordered before (the asparagus Caesar) I was very dissatisfied. Â The salad during my first visit (which can be seen in the photos section) was huge and full of chopped romaine lettuce, crunchy asparagus, hard boiled eggs and fresh grape tomatoes. During my second visit, the salad was nothing but iceberg lettuce, 1/2 the size as before, asparagus and tomatoes. Talk about cutting costs big time! And in the end, it was a poor choice because I will not order that salad again. It went from being one of the best salads I've had . . . to one of the worst. Salads aside, the Porch is saved by their awesome specials - Wed night wine flight night, for 5 bucks they give you a flight of wine paired with cheeses and on Thursday nights they do a beer school (I heard its best to sign up ahead of time with the beer school). The Porch also offers a great local selection of beer on tap and nice little coffee bar.
