Wharfside Bar and Grill

A mixed review, and I'm being generous.  Arrived for a 7 pm reservation to find no table prepared for us.   Manager tried to make up for it by comping a round of drinks.  Still had to wait 25 minutes for the table.  Made the mistake of sitting inside, where the noise level was deafening. Manager explained that the locals were out in force because Jimmy Buffet had been sighted there the previous Friday and some thought he'd show up again.  Some of us liked our food--I had very good clams on the half shell and a tasty cioppinno--however, one teen in the group got a piece of plastic container (cup?) in his crab soup, and another in the group felt the chicken (in the chicken and waffle dish) was over-fried and oily.  Fried oysters and caprese salad were both hits.  Prices were reasonable and a 20percent coupon is available in the tourist pubs.  Not sure we'd go back again, though.  If we did, we would definitely sit outside on a Friday night, weather permitting.

Seems like this location changes hands a lot. Here's hoping Wharfside stays! We impulsively tried it on Sunday afternoon 5/26/2013. Sat out on the shaded, breezy deck, looked out at the marina, water, birds-really nice. Very clean. Staff was friendly, welcoming. Food was really good! Favs were the seafood platter, the creamy crab soup and the spinach salad. Definitely worth adding to the "solid" list. There are a lot of lackluster restaurants at the beach, and we have only a few select ones that deliver a good experience consistently. We are adding Wharfside to the list. Look up the general manager, Alex while you are there-super nice, excited about what they have to offer the area! Thumbs up, guys! We enjoyed it!
