I had breakfast there this am with my son and  grandchildren. The service was fine and the waitress accommodating but the food was terrible. The bacon was not crisp as requested even though they tried twice, the scrambled eggs were rubbery and "hard" as my grandson said, the fruit plate looked beautiful but most of the fruit was not ripe,  The restrooms were dirty.  This is the second time I have been disappointed and will not go back, how hard is it to fix scrambled eggs. On top of that after we complained they wanted to know if we were locals or tourist. That makes me wonder??

An uncle who lives in VA Beach recommended this place to us, and I'm happy he did because I love me a kosher deli! With that said, this is a kosher-style deli in that it's not kosher but has some good Jew food on the menu. How did I know it's not kosher? On their specials board as you walk in they were advertising she-crab soup. While a local favorite, not exactly feed your Jewish mother would make. Bacon was also available on the menu, but hey, anything served with a side of bacon is a good thing in my book!

My mom had been to the old location on Pacific YEARS ago, so she described a much divey-er place. That being said, I was rather impressed by the layout of the place. There's dessert bar up front with some AMAZING looking treats, and as you walk back there's a bar closer to the front of the building and another full bar that runs the length of an entire side wall. With such a big bar, I hope they keep it sufficiently staffed during big events.

We came for lunch after sitting on the beach that morning. I opted for the flounder reuben, because whenever else are you going to find a fried fish sandwich served to you reuben style?? The fry was perfectly crunchy, the fish was fresh and flaky, and the rye bread must have soaked up buckets of butter because that was the best thing about the whole experience! My parents both got corned beef and pastrami sandwiches, and I appreciated that they had a "lite" sandwich that was closer to a normal portion of meat, rather than what you normally see at a kosher deli.

While certainly not the best kosher-style deli I've ever been to, I'm just happy that a place like this exists in Hampton Roads. Our server told us that they're looking to open another location in Williamsburg, which I would definitely frequent more often!

We went there for dinner and the place was dead. I ordered the prime rib that was on special. BE Warned, this is one of those places who put items on special because the meat is about to expire in the freezer! It was the worst prime rib ever. I had to cut it up and put it in the aju in hopes that it would be chewable.
